Stampin’ Up! Bold Butterfly Framelits & Perpetual Birthday Calendar card

Stampin’ Up! Bold Butterfly Framelits & Perpetual Birthday Calendar card

Do you remember these cards?  The first one in the post was one of my most pinned and CASE’d cards ever. I was amazed how popular it was. Ok so I wouldn’t exactly say it went viral, but I was contacted by demonstrators here and in the US who wanted to use it in their classes and wanted to check I didn’t mind. Of course I didn’t, I was totally flattered! Well I ended up with a very similar watercolour background when I was playing around with a set of watercolour paints. I was stuck what to do with it, so I decided to create an updated version of my original card.

I used the Bold Butterfly framelits to cut out a butterfly from vellum and another from silver glimmer paper. I watercoloured the vellum to match the background. I stamped the cluster of butteflies over the bakground using Night of Navy – it’s not normally a colour I use, but I seem to have been using it a fair bit recently.

I love the new Silver Cording trim in the Autumn/Winter catalogue – fingers crossed it will be carried over. Are you listening Stampin’ Up!? Please, please, please 😘

So what do you think? Hope you like it.

Oops I’ve just noticed the rhinestones down the centre of the butterfly look a bit wonky! Oh well – handmade after all, doesn’t have to be perfect does it?

So here’s to a fabby, crafty weekend. See you next week xx
