Festival of Trees from Stampin’ Up!

Christmas inspiration for the Global Design Project “Christmas challenge (#GDP011) using Festival of Trees from Stampin’ Up!

Ok so it’s official, Christmas is on the way! Today’s card for the Global Design Project “Christmas challenge (#GDP011) uses Festival of Trees from Stampin’ Up! combined with a dash of Lucky Stars embossing folder and a sprinkle of Gorgeous Grunge – oh and not to forget a scattering of Jingle All the Way!

I think I’m going with this version of my card for #GDP011. I’ve seen loads of cards recently being embossed after stamping, which is what inspired today’s cards.

I wanted a subtler look for the embossing, so I didn’t run this one through the embossing folder. I’ll show you how I did it at the end of this post!

This one I ran through the big shot to emboss.

So how did I get that lighter embossing on the landscape version of this card? Easy……

…. I just put the card in the embossing folder then I stood on it! I moved my foot around to make sure I covered the whole of the card front! Dont worry – no embossing folders were hurt during this procedure! Lol! 🙂

  1. Hahahaha Tracy….love your technique for the lighter embossing – so clever! I wonder if I will get the same effect in my Havaiana flip flops as you did with your Converse? LOL I must give it a try. 😉
Both cards are equally as beautiful as each other and I really like the whimsical feel with all the elements and the colour combo. Thanks so much for playing along to the Global Design Project this week. xo

  2. The things we do for our art! Yours reminded me of Shannon West and her postage solution! I do like the lighter and more uneven embossed look though and will try this myself! Thanks for playing at Global Design Project this week.

  3. Tracy, both of these cards are amazing…but I love your “stomp” technique on the one card! You are such a clever girl! Thanks for joining us this week for our Christmas challenge at Global Design Project.

  4. Tracy – I love the beautiful simplicity of your card’s layout. So many great elements on your card – including the handy embossing tip. 🙂 Thank you so much for playing along with this week’s Christmas Theme Challenge for the Global Design Project!

LOL Tracy YOU have made my day with that embossing tip!

  6. Love this card! So many beautiful textures and layers, plus a great technique. Thanks for playing with Global Design Project this week.

  7. I love your card tracy and your light embossing technique is genius! You do make me laugh, I remember those converse when they were sparkly new and not used for embossing yet! xx
