Balloon Celebration from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Tracy May #GDP023

I’m back today with another super quick card I made using Balloon Celebration from Stampin’ Up! I’m entering this card in to the Global Design Project Balloon themed challenge #GDP023.

GDP023

I had two little helpers for this card one of my sons and another little boy I am looking after today. They told me where the balloons should go and whether the sentiment looked better in black on white card or white on black card. Luckily I agreed with all their design choices lol!

I did a really quick watercolour background using a pool party re-inker. I dropped some ink directly onto and acrylic block and used a wet paintbrush to pick up the ink and painted it on to the watercolour paper. I dried it with my heat gun, before stamping the dandy lions or aliums, also from Balloon Celebration, in Versamark and heat embossing with white embossing powder.

The balloons are punched out of watercolour paper, painted with Real Red ink and then stamped over using the detail stamps from Balloon Celebration. I finished the card off with white and clear sequins. It really was a quick card. I hope you like it!

  1. I love that you had little helpers this week Tracy, not that you normally need it though, lol. Beautiful card! I love the soft “fairies” in the background and the lovely pop of colour in the balloons. I concur, white on black! Thanks for playing with us at Global Design Project this week.

  2. Such a soft and delicate background, I wondered how I could use those dandelions, great idea, might just steal this idea!

  3. Tracy – this is really quite lovely. You’ve created such a soft, sweet scene on this card, and I love it! I’m so glad you played along with this week’s Balloons Theme Challenge at the Global Design Project – thanks!

  4. Love this. The subtle background is gorgeous and I love all the items floating towards the top. Such a brilliant card. Thanks for playing with Global Design Project.
