Last minute Valentine’s Day Cards

Last minute Valentine’s Day Cards using Stampin’ Up! Products

I know I promised to post the make and take from Sunday’s training for you today but as you can see I am not. I promise I will do so tomorrow though! 🙂 I just really, really wanted to enter the CASology challenge this week so that is what today’s post is going to be about. Their theme is Valentine and so I had a play around last night and came up with these last minute Valentine’s Day Cards using Stampin’ Up! products. I am calling this first card My Messy Valentine! (There’s a pictorial at the bottom of the post on how I created the water colour background).

This was my first attempt on a scrap piece of water colour paper. I tried to recreate this several times on water colour panels I could use as card fronts, but of course it was impossible to get the exact look again! So I ended up trimming the edges of the scrap piece, carefully to straighten them, and layered it onto Basic Black card stock, before popping it onto one of the small pre-cut notelet cards.

At first I wasn’t going to put the punched out heart over the top, but when my husband said it just looked like a blob, I thought I had better. There’s a photo below of what it looks like without the heart punch out. At least the failed attempts came in useful for punching out hearts! Lol!

What do you think? I kind of like it!

My final attempt at least produced something I could use on a card as well. The sentiment on both cards is from Hello Life.

And here’s the pictorial I promised you! Give it a go – it’s great fun! You can always use any fails for punching out shapes! 😊
