Touches of Texture from Stampin’ Up! #GDP041

Touches of Texture from Stampin’ Up! Colour Challenge for #GDP041

I’m back today with a card I’ve made for the Global Design Challenge colour challenge this week. I’m using Touches of Texture from Stampin’ Up! I know this stamp set is going to become a firm favourite along with Timeless Texture and Gorgeous Grunge for background stamping. But, you can also use Touches of Texture as the star of the show, as I’ve done with my card. I found the colours a little challenging (ahem no pun intended!) again this week. I am determined to persevere and conquer this colour challenge phobia of mine though!

I decided to use Sweet Sugarplum for the card base. Then I went with a mat of Night of Navy underneath the Whisper White card front. Once I had decided on that combination, it seemed to make sense to stamp the background splatter in Sweet Sugarplum and use Night of Navy for the focal image.

I also stamped onto the card base using Sweet Sugarplum and decided I like the layers off-kilter too. I’m not 100% happy with it, but I can’t put my finger on why not? What do you think?

I stamped the sentiment from Thankful Thoughts. I’ve severely depleted my stock of thank you cards this month with all the orders from the new catalogue, so you will probably be seeing a load more thank you cards from me for a while, as I build it back up again!

Well that’s it from me. Do pop over to the Global Design Challenge and take a look at what the super talented design team have come up with! They are all amazing!

  1. If you found this challenging Tracy, I can only imagine the projects you would turn out if it was easy for you, lol. I love that you kept it simple and didn’t over complicate this card. The minimal embellishments are perfect! Thanks for playing at Global Design Project with us.

  2. TOTALLY gorgeous! I’m having a ‘why didn’t I think of that?’ moment! Thanks as always for your support of the Global Design Project!

  3. Well done Tracy. You did so well with the colour challenge. hope to see you again. Thank you so much for playing along with this week’s Global Design Project challenge xx
