Vintage Leaves by Stampin’ Up!

Vintage Leaves by Stampin’ Up! #CCMC432

Yay it’s Thursday again and time for another challenge over at Create with Connie & Mary. This week it’s a colour challenge! I just love the colours this week and I thought I would try something different this week by using a lot of one colour. Vintage Leaves by Stampin’ Up! was my choice of stamp set. I’ve wanted to use it with the copper embossing powder since I first got it a few months ago.

My project for this week’s challenge is not my usual style and I almost broke out in hives I tell you! Lol!  I decided upon Night of Navy as the focal colour and worked around it from there!

Vintage Leaves by Stampin' Up! Tracy May #CCMC432

I randomly stamped the lovely leaves from Vintage Leaves by Stampin’ Up! in Versamark ink onto a Night of Navy card front and then covered them using Copper embossing powder and heat set. Them. I added a strip of Mint Macaron and Copper Foil paper across the middle and placed some Mint Macaron leaves also heat embossed with copper embossing powder over the top. I decided not to put a sentiment on this card yet as I’m not sure whether it will be a Thank You card or birthday card. What do you think it should be?

Well that’s it from me. Please do pop across to the Create with Connie & Mary challenge blog and see what the very talented design team have come up with. You won’t be disappointed. And why don’t you join us this week? We’d love to see what you come up with for the challenge so please do give it a go.!

  1. It’s kinda fun to break out of our usual style box every now and then, and I can completely appreciate your hives comment! LOL! I’m not a CAS girl and that style really makes me nervous when I try it. Your card turned out wonderful even if it’s not your usual style. I think the copper leaves on the navy background make such a beautiful backdrop for your main mint leaves.

  2. Funny Tracy, I did think when I saw your card that it was quite different to your usual style. No less beautiful though! Love all those copper embossed leaves and the horizontal focal point.

  3. Love all the copper embossing! You definitely worked that embossing powder and it looks gorgeous!

I really like all the yummy copper embossing giving this card an abundance of shimmer! Would make a great fall birthday or even a sympathy card!

What do you think?
