High Tide by Stampin’ Up!

High Tide by Stampin’ Up! #CCMC449

Yay it’s Thursday! Time for another sketch challenge over at Create with Connie & Mary! Originally I had intended to try to use Designer Series Paper (DSP) for this week’s challenge. It was to be an extra challenge to myself as I don’t use enough DSP on my cards. And guess what – yes I have reams of the stuff lying totally unused!!

But, I really wanted to use High Tide by Stampin’ Up! for one of the challenges this month and for some reason, this one just seemed perfect for it!

High Tide by Stampin' Up! Tracy May #CCMC449

It took a couple of goes before I found the best way to create this. It’s actually really easy! The stamps are photopolymer so lining them up was easy. I did use a stamp positioned as well for the birds so that they would line up properly.

Basically all you need to do is stamp the scene twice onto two pieces of Whisper White card. Once I had both scenes stamped I cut one down to 8cm x 10cm and then cut it into three panels. I then lined the panels up over the image on the card front to create the triptych. Easy! (Well kind of – lol!)

I’m really happy with the way it’s turned out and I hope you like it too! Please do pop over to see what the rest of the lovely design team have come up with this week!

Vintage Leaves by Stamping’ Up! #CCMC448

Vintage Leaves by Stamping’ Up! #CCMC448

So what do you think of today’s colour challenge over at Create with Connie & Mary? As soon as I saw these colours, I knew I wanted to use the Vintage Leaves by Stamping’ Up! stamp set and create today’s card. I don’t know why though. Perhaps I have seen these colours on Pinterest or similar for a leafy card? Who knows? Anyway this is what I came up with (whilst hoping I haven’t inadvertently copied someone else!)

Vintage Leaves by Stamping' Up! Tracy May #CCMC448

I still need to sort out the software that I use to add my watermarks. For some reason it is compressing the image and making it look grainy! But hopefully it’s clear enough to see the layers I have created?

  • I started by stamping the leaves in Pool Party and then stamping over them with a splatter from Gorgeous Grunge in Smoky Slate and Chocolate Chip;
  • I then stamped off the leaves in Chocolate Chip and before stamping over the Pool Party leaves;
  • I stamped the large leaf in Chocolate Chip on a separate piece of Whisper White and then cut it out using the co-ordinatelu framelits dies;
  • I wrapped Linen thread around the card front and attached it to the leaf before tying in a bow;
  • The sentiment is from Thankful Thoughts and is also in Chocolate Chip’
  • I adhered the card front to a Smoky Slate card base!

So what do you think? I hope you like it! All in all it came together pretty easily.

A Jittery Chicken for the Spring Jitters Blog Hop

Spring Jitters / Lentekriebels Blog Hop

Thank you for joining me today, for a very exciting blog post for me. Today, I am delighted to say I am hopping along with the lovely Creatieve Harten team of the lovely Caroline van der Straaten, who are all fellow Pinkies!

When I heard the title of the blog hop was Spring Jitters, I instantly thought of Hey Chick by Stampin’ Up! Perhaps you will see why from my card!

Hey Chick by Stamping' Up! Jittery Chicken Tracy May

Don’t you just think that chicken looks jittery? I do! It always brings a smile to my face when I see it!

For my background I used the Hardwood stamp set. I watercolored and cut out the chicken and added it directly to the top of the stamping. The Old Olive “grass” is attached to the back of the card front which has been raised up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

So what do you think? I do hope you like it! I certainly had some fun making the card anyway 😊!

Thank you so much for stopping by. Please do keep hopping along with our blog hop by clicking on the Next button below. The lovely and talented Sandra is next

Stylish Stems Framelits By Stamping’ Up!

Welcome back! It’s time for another sketch challenge from Create with Connie & Mary this week. I played around with a few ideas in my head for this challenge before settling on an idea I took from the fabulously talented German demonstrator Steffi Helmschrott (which you can see here)!

Stylish Stems Framelits by Stampin' Up! Tracy May #CCMC447

Instead of using a piece of DSP for the strip down the left hand side of the card, I got out my watercolour pencils and created a rainbow on a panel of watercolour paper. I used the Melon Mambo, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive pencils and an aqua painter. I cut out the square (using the Stitched Shape framelits) and the flower using the Stylish Stems Framelits by Stamping’ Up! So it would match the card front, I used another piece of watercolour paper!

I did get through a few pieces of the watercolour paper before I got the look I was after, but I think I got there in the end! Do you like it? I do hope so.

The sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners by the way! Oh and the card base is made from Crumb Cake, which I think really makes the rainbow colours pop.

Please do pop along and see what the rest of the lovely design team have come up with this week. You can also play along on the Create with Connie & Mary Facebook page too!

Lucky Elephant by Stamping’ Up! #CCMC446

Yay, it’s Thursday. The start of my weekend really and even better it’s time for another challenge over at Create with Connie & Mary! This week it’s the colour challenge. I was stumped with these bad boys until I had a sudden brainwave! And hey presto – the card below is the result. Also,  I am actually very pleased with the result to I have to say!

What do you think? I need to readjust the editing tool I think. I’ve got a new laptop and the photos appear a little grainy for some reason now.
So what do you think of my Lucky Elephant by Stamping’ Up!? I have made lots of card fronts with this stamp set but this is the first card I have completed with it!

Guy Greetings by Stamping’ Up! #CCMC445

It’s Thursday! And you know what that means don’t you? Yes it’s time for this week’s challenge over at Create with Connie & Mary!  And it’s a sketch this week. At first I had pretty and pink and flowers in mind but then I remembered I need a man card for a friend’s birthday this week. One of the design team had used Guy Greetings by Stamping’ Up! on the last sketch challenge and that inspired me to get it out for today’s card.

Guy Greetings by Stampin' Up! Tracy May #CCMC445

All in all I’m reasonably happy with the card and I think my friend will think it’s a bit quirky and hopefully should like it! Please do pop over to the Create with Connie & Mary challenge blog to see what the rest of the team has come up with for you this week!

Thanks for stopping by!

Delicate Details by Stamping’ Up! – Dream Theme Blog Hop

Welcome to the Dream Theme Blog Hop. It’s a monthly blog hop featuring some amazing Stampin’ Up!® Independent Demonstrators from around the world. Currently you’re visiting me, Tracy May from London, UK. To continue along the blog hop, please use the links below.

The theme for today’s projects is Wedding Cards! I have actually gone with a Happy Anniversary card – well I think this still counts as wedding related don’t you? I must admit I was struggling a bit with this theme as I don’t really have the wedding specific stamp sets that Stamping’ Up! offers. So I hit Pinterest for some inspiration and saw some lovely wedding cards using real lace and hey presto the idea to use Delicate Details by Stamping’ Up! was born.

Delicate Details by Stamping' Up! Dream Theme Blog Hop Tracy May

I’ve teamed my “lace” up with Kraft card stock as I love the contrast of the white embossing powder against it. In the end I decided to keep to a simple design and stamped only on the left hand of the card. What do you think? I hope you like it!

Thank you for stopping by to see my Wedding card idea. I hope you’ve found it inspiring. Please do hop along to see what my lovely and fabulously talented friend Delphine has made and keep hopping around the wonderful creations from the rest of the Dream Theme Design team!

Touches of Texture by Stampin’ Up!

Touches of Texture by Stampin’ Up! #CCMC444

It’s a colour challenge over at Create with Connie & Mary.  I’ve reverted to my comfort zone of minimal use of colour and lots (and I mean lots) of white space. And I actually really like my card this week, which is unusual for me with a colour challenge! I used Touches of Texture by Stampin’ Up!. Simply because I love this set and I haven’t used it for a while. Also I think it’s a good one for use of minimal colour too!

Touches of Texture by Stampin' Up! Tracy May #CCMC444

So what do you think? I started off with a Whisper White panel (8.5cm x 12.5cm) onto which I stamped the flowers in Dapper Denim. I used one of the smallest stamps to colour the flowers in Peekaboo Peach.

The sentiment is stamped onto Crumb Cake in Dapper Denim from Thoughtful Banners and I cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. I finished off the card with some Linen thread (I separated the strands, so I could use a single strand thread, as it looked a bit too thick otherwise). A few Rhinestone jewels and the card is done! Very CAS (clean and simple).

Well I do hope you like it. Please do pop over to see what the rest of the design team have come up with this week for you!

Chase Your Dreams by Stampin’ Up! #CCMC443

Yay it’s Thursday and time for another challenge from Create with Connie & Mary. This week it’s a sketch challenge. Normally I am quite literal in my interpretation of the sketches. But this week, I decided to have some fun and go with a looser translation of it. I’ve used Chase Your Dreams by Stampin’ Up! and teamed it up with High Tide and Kinda Eclectic too!

Chase Your Dreams by Stampin' Up! #CCMC443

This was a really quick card to make once I’d decided on the design.

This was a really fun card to make and I love how it’s turned out! I hope you like it to. Do pop along to Create with Connie and Mary to see what the rest of the design team have come up with this week!
