Something old ….with Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Butterflies Bigz

I seem to have fallen into a theme for my blog posts this week – something old, something new, something borrowed and blue, and not a wedding card in sight! It was quite unintended really. Today’s is something old, well it’s not really old – not yet anyway. The Beautiful Butterfly Bigz die is retiring at the end of this month, so you only have a couple of more weeks to add it to your stash – be quick, lots of things are selling out.

The Stampin’ Up! ® retiring stamps list pdf can be found here and the accessory list here.

Ombre Butterfly Mobile using Stampin’ Up! ® products

Good morning everyone! If you are UK based I hope you are enjoying the weather as much as I am. I spent most of yesterday outside in the sunshine at a 3 year old birthday party. It was a very relaxed affair. The Bedlam Brothers were unusually shy for some reason but warmed up and joined in all the fun eventually.

My birthday gift was handmade. All my friends with little girls are coming to expect some form of handmade gift these days (although I need to extend my repertoire now). A couple of weeks ago I saw this ombre colour scheme on US demo Kerry Willard Bray’s blog and knew this was going to be the colour scheme for my latest round of butterfly mobiles.

The fringe scissors were put to good use making a trim to go round the wooden embroidery hoop I used to hang the strands from.  They also came in handy to decorate a plain white gift bag.

Easter Thank you’s – using Stampin’ Up! ® products

Good morning everyone. How are you all today? I had a nice lazy (ish) start to the day as my friend picked my eldest son up to take him to school for me. She lives a couple of streets away and has offered to pick him up on her way past a number of times now. It certainly makes for a calmer start to the day for me, as I only have to concentrate on getting him ready, instead of chasing him and his younger brother around trying to find various shoes, coats, water beakers and  bags.

A few weeks ago I had been on Pinterest (no surprise there!) and had seen a picture of a garden fence with big bright red butterflies and it immediately made me think of the Hardwood Background stamp (available in wood or clear) and the Beautiful Wings Embosslits. I made the card a Thank you card ….

…..and as I was planning on giving her a little gift too, the style of the card dictated the style of the treat bag I made to go with it. The measurements for the bag are the same as for the bunny bag you can find in my Youtube video.

(apologies about the picture quality)
Also as it is the last day of term today I made some little treat bags for the ladies at my youngest son’s playgroup and for my eldest son’s teachers.

The reason I bought the Petite Petals stamp set and punch bundle (available in wood or clear) and the Hardwood background stamp is because of a fellow Pinkie (Pink Lady – my upline’s team). Back in February we did a Pinkies blog hop to showcase products from the Spring/Summer Catalogue and one of Dutch Pinkies Caroline made a stunning card with this combination, which really showcased these stamps for me. You can see her card here

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s projects. Give them a go – they are so easy and very effective! My friend loved her gift!

Spring is in the air! – using Stampin’ Up! ® products

Well not really, but hopefully the pictures below will help to brighten up the outlook. It’s been very wet and windy where I am for the last few weeks, it seems, but making a butterfly and flower mobile for a friend’s little girl, for her birthday, has made me feel a bit more like spring is not that far away.

I am really pleased with how this mobile turned out! It’s only the second one I have made. They are really quite simple to make but look stunning in my humble opinion / even if I do say so myself! J

What do you think?

I never did manage to get that Photography 101 with my sister over Christmas! I really must dig out my camera manual and try to take better pictures!
