New Spring/Summer 2017 Catalogue & Sale-a-bration

Oh how exciting is it? Very very very! Not only is the new Spring/Summer 2017 catalogue available, it’s also the start of Sale-a-bration! SAB is Stampin’ Up!’s biggest promotion of the year! As a demonstrator, I was able to pre-order from the catalogue and earn SAB items in December. I’ve been having a play and I think my favourite new product has to be the watercolour pencils. They are fabulous. I’ve teamed them up with Beautiful You by Stampin’ Up! for today’s projects.

As I wanted to create a no line water colour image, I first stamped off on scrap paper before stamping on to watercolour paper. I used smoky slate as it’s a neutral colour and the Real Red and Pacific Blue watercolour pencils can be painted on much darker. Then I used an aqua painter to flick off the end of the pencils to get the splatter effect. I got the idea for this card from an Arttutor Brusho tutorial I had seen.

I think this one is my favourite, even though I messed the extended leg up a bit. You can see a hard water mark where I didn’t manage to blend the paint properly.

Aren’t they beautiful? Even if I do say so myself Lol!

Beautiful You by Stampin’ Up! #CCMC438

The Thursday Create with Connie & Mary Challenge is back this week with a colour challenge. For once I wasn’t absolutely petrified about not being able to come up with anything. I like this colour scheme – it works for me. As usual, I have kept it very CAS (clean and simple). The design of this card kind of happened by accident. I have managed to spend some time in my craft room in between cooking and looking after the Bedlam Brothers (aka my two sons). I had been playing with Beautiful You by Stampin’ Up!. It’s one of the new stamp sets from the new Spring/Summer 2017 catalogue. The more I played with this set the more I fell in love with it!

The set contains a mixture of sentiments and image stamps. There are also a couple of paint stroke stamps and I was playing around with these and I came up with was this very CAS card.

For some reason this made me think about the colour challenge. Ans I decided to create another version. I already had the Pool Party embossed panel in my basket of unfinished projects. So all I needed to do was stamp the image on a panel of Whisper White and then use one of the paint stroke images to colour the dress in the colours from the challenge.

The sentiment is also from Beautiful You and the stars are from the stars are from the Metallic Enamel shapes embellishments pack.

Please do pop over and see what the rest of the ever so talented Create with Connie & Mary design team have come up with for you this week!

Thanks for stopping by!
