Writing Notes by Stamping’ Up!

Writing Notes by Stamping’ Up!

Welcome to the Dream Theme Blog Hop. It’s a monthly blog hop featuring some amazing Stampin’ Up!® Independent Demonstrators from around the world. Currently you’re visiting me, Tracy May from London, UK. To continue along the blog hop, please use the links below.

The theme for today’s projects is Mother’s Day! I had actually thought it was Mother’s Day for last month’s theme as it was Mother’s Day in the UK in March, but that one was Easter themed. Anyway, I remembered to take a photo of the card I made for my Mother-in-Law before I sealed the envelope! I used Writing Notes by Stamping’ Up! It’s the first time I used this background stamp, even though I have had it for an age. Sadly it is on the retiring list, so I’m glad it’s at least had the chance of one outing! 😄

Writing Notes by Stampin' Up!

So what do you think? I teamed it up with flowers from the Botanical Builders Framelits dies set, which is also sadly retiring.

Thank you for stopping by to see my Mother’s Day card idea. I hope you’ve found it inspiring. Please do hop along to see what my lovely and fabulously talented friend Delphine has made and keep hopping around the wonderful creations from the rest of the Dream Theme Design team!

Botanical Builders and Polka Dot by Stampin’ Up!

Botanical Builders and Polka Dot by Stampin’ Up!

Hello there, it’s Thursday again and time for a Sketch challenge this week over at Create with Connie & Mary. I decided to stick fairly closely to the sketch this week.

The sun has been out and I’m even thinking about getting the summer clothes out! Woohoo! So I’ve gone with summery colours to use with my CAS card! What do you think?

Botanical Builders and Polka Dot by Stamping' Up! Tracy May

I’m really pleased with the way this card has turned out and I love the colour scheme. The card background is embossed using the Polka Dot embossing folder on Pool Party cardstock. The pink striped DSP is from Pop of Pink and the Flowers and leaves are all cut out using the Botanical Builders framelits. Such an easy card to put together!

Please do pop over to the Create with Connie & Mary challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team have come up with!

Thanks for stopping by. Don’t forget to check out the retiring list as well!

Sneak Peeks – Thankful Thoughts & Playful Backgrounds from Stampin’ Up!

Sneak Peeks – Thankful Thoughts & Playful Backgrounds from Stampin’ Up! Global Design Project #GDP032

It’s Global Design Project challenge time with #GDP032 Case the Designer. This week it’s the turn of the fabulously talented Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design team member Krista Frattin. Spoiler Alert! I’ve used Thankful Thoughts & Playful Backgrounds from Stampin’ Up! which are both new stamp sets coming in the next annual catalogue in June!

GDP032

This is Krista’s beautiful card that everyone is casing this week! She’s certainly a tough act to follow that’s for sure!

Thankful Thoughts & Playful Backgrounds from Stampin' Up! Global Design Project Tracy May #GDP032

I used most of the different elements from Krita’s card in my version, but changed the card to portrait and added some ink splats from Timeless Textures to break up the white a little. The stripes are from the new photopolymer stamp set Playful Backgrounds and the sentiment is from the Thankful Thoughts new sentiment stamp set.

So what do you think? I keep thinking I should have left it landscape, but then I’m never satisfied!! Anyway, I love playing along with the Global Design Project challenges. They are great fun! You should give them a go! I was one of the winners last week, with this card, woohoo!  😃😘😍That was a huge surprise and I didn’t realise until I got a couple of comments on my blog post congratulating me! Yeah I know – I’m useless aren’t I? Lol! 😉

Thank You Card using more Stampin’ Up! product #CCMC401

Thank You Card using more Stampin’ Up! product #CCMC401

It’s time for the next challenge over at Create with Connie & Mary. I don’t know where the week has gone – it’s just flown by! Even with the Bedlam Brothers off school! Ha ha ha – they are lovely really! 😉 This week it’s a sketch challenge and I created another thank you card using more Stampin’ Up! product!

CCMC401

I wasn’t really thinking colour scheme when I came up with my card, but I actually love how the colours I ended up with work well together.

Thank You Card using more Stampin' Up! product Tracy May #CCMC401

I started with my embossed (or debossed??) panel for the background. I wanted a subtle background which is why I used the reverse as the polka dots look softer this way. That led me to using Smoky Slate for the next piece and then soft sky for the banner. Once I had those two colours then Daffodil Delight seemed the obvious choice to me. I am using spring like images and colours an awful lot at the moment – maybe I’m trying to single handedly banish winter lol!

The flower is of course from the Botanical Builders Framelits as is the leaf cut using old olive. And finally the sentiment is from my old faithful Another Thank You.

Please do go and check out all the other cards from the wonderful design team and do have a go. It’s great fun – I promise! 😀

Thank You Cards for #GDP027

Thank You Cards for #GDP027

The theme for this week’s challenge over at Global Design Project is Thank You! The design team have personally picked one of the regular participants to receive the cards they have made for the Design Team Inspiration and I am absolutely blown away that the fabulously talented Teneale Williams picked me! Her card is fantastic and she went to so much effort, checking out my blog to use the colours from my header in her card. Here is her fantastic card! Don’t you just love it? Head over to Global Design Project website to check out all the other Design Team projects and the participants entries too!

GDP027 Thank you

Now for my own entry this week. There couldn’t be a better challenge for me as I make so many Thank You cards anyway so the cards I have made will be put to good use by going to my lovely customers! I had a couple of background panels lurking in my unfinished projects basket that I have been wondering what to do with. I loved the backgrounds a lot so wanted them to be a large part of the card and not be hidden in the …..well background lol! As I just got the Botanical Builder Framelits, I decided to use those. I just love these flowers so much!

Botanical Builder Framelits from Stampin' Up! Tracy May

I sponged a combination of Melon Mambo around the edges and Pink Pirouette in the middle before splashing with drops of water to get the bokeh effect for this card. My original idea was to have the flowers and leaves as one tone, using Pink Pirouette, but it was so much pink, I broke out in hives lol! Now this is my favourite of the two!

Botanical Builder Framelits from Stampin' Up! Tracy May

This card is much softer and I do like the white on white of the flowers and leaves. The background is sponged in an ombre effect with Pink Pirouette and Blushing Bride.

What do you think? Which one do you prefer?

Don’t forget to go and check out the other entries on the challenge this week!

Botanical Gardens from Stampin’ Up!

Botanical Gardens from Stampin’ Up! – Sketch Challenge Card for #GDP022

GDP022

Ok so today’s post nearly didn’t happen. I was determined to do the challenge over at Global Design Project for today’s blog post. It’s a sketch challenge and I wanted to make something totally unique etc etc etc buuuut in the end I have gone with Botanical Gardens from Stampin’ Up!. Time is running out and the Bedlam Brothers will soon be tearing out of school at 100mph! I don’t have this set at home, so I cut a few extra flowers and leaves from the supplies for one of the make and takes at our team training on Sunday (more on that later in the week) and I just had the overwhelming urge to use them today! Nothing else would do, for some reason, and so there you have it. I know they have been used on both the design team (Steffi’s card which is stunning) and other challenges and so it’s not unique, but I love the card and I hope you do too!

Botanical Gardens from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Tracy May #GDP022

I embossed a panel of vellum with the Softly Falling embossing folder and stuck it over a panel of Pool Party. The ribbon (which is lush!!) and the flower are Watermelon Wonder, which makes a stunning colour combination with the Pool Party! Love it – credit goes to my upline Michelle Last for the make and take this came from. I will post the make and take for you tomorrow so you can see for yourself!

I’m kicking myself that I didn’t buy this set! Hmmmm can I feel a sneaky order coming on, I wonder? What do you think? Lol!

Before you go I have a reminder for you….
