Zoo Babies from Stampin’ Up! Shaker Card

Zoo Babies from Stampin’ Up! Shaker Card

Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer 2016 Catalogue - SAB

A friend recently had a baby girl and I needed to make a card. I’ve already sent the friend a couple of baby girl cards, as she’s had three baby girls, since I met her! She has five in total and I don’t know how she does it! I only have the two and they are a handful! Lol! 😂

My go to stamp set for baby cards is Zoo Babies from Stampin’ Up! ®, but as I have already sent my friend two cards using Zoo Babies, I wanted to try something a little different this time. I had seen this card by Debbie Hughes and thought it was really cute, so I used that as inspiration for my own card. I decided on a yellow background (using So Saffron blended with a sponge), as a contrast to the pinky tones of Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral.

I cut the frame out using the Square Framelits. I first the card stock to size first (A6 14.8 x 10.5 I think) and then cut a square out of one end. I  repositioned the die to the other end and ran it through a second time to create the rectangle.

I cut the Window Sheet to the same size and used foam tape to stick it to the yellow background card Before I stuck the window sheet and frame over the background, I added the white and clear sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment.

I stamped the rhino and elephant and fussy cut them before sticking them over the outside of the frame. I’m really pleased with how it turned out!

I used the Balloon from the framelits set to watercolour vaguely in the shape of the balloon before stamping over the top with undiluted ink.

I love the simplicity and warm oranges of this card. I created a mask from the negative of the balloon framelit and used it to sponge first with Daffodil Delight, then Tangerine Tango and then finally with Real Red.

I nearly lost the card front to my youngest son. He has a habit of picking up things from my desk that catch his eye and wandering off with them, some never to be seen again. I managed to retrieve it from him just as he was legging it out of the door! Little monkey lol!

I hope you like the bright colours. I think the Brights Collection has to be my favourite from all the colour ranges. Which one’s yours?
