Christmas Boxes – Tags, Bags & Boxes Week

Christmas Boxes – Tags, Bags & Boxes Week

Continuing with my Tags, Bags & Boxes Week, today’s project comes under the Christmas Boxes heading! I haven’t used a box maker or box making die though, like I did for the Christmas Bags the last two days. I’ve been wanting to make a circular or oval box using my framelits for a while now, but hadn’t found the time/occassion to. Well without further ado, I will show you my Christmas Boxes project number 1, using the Stampin’ Up! Circles Framelits dies – I used the 4″ circle.

I stamped the snow flakes from Wonderland over the circle I used for the lid and the tag base. I topped both the box and the tag off with images from the Sleigh Ride Edgelits set. I love these edgelits! They have been one of my favourite items from this Autumn/Winter catalogue. If you haven’t seen the non-Christmassy projects I made previously using them check them out here and here!

I wrapped the white ribbon around the side to hide the seam where I had to join two strips of card to make the right length for the box sides. I used 2 x 18cm x 6cm strips for the lid and 2 x 18cm x 7cm strips for the base.

No doubt, I will get around to the oval box I want to make, so I will do a tutorial then!

I hope you like today’s project. I’ve got one more Christmas Boxes post for you tomorrow in the Tags, Bags and Boxes week. I hope you’ve enjoyed all the projects. If you want to see any particular type projects on this blog in the future, feel free to make suggestions below in the comments!

Christmas Star Card using Home for Christmas by Stampin’ Up!

Christmas Star Card using Home for Christmas by Stampin’ Up!

I’m certainly getting better at using up DSP (designer series paper) these days. I’ve almost used up two packs from the Stampin’ Up! ® Autumn/Winter Catalogue, which is unheard of normally (I just think it’s too pretty to cut up!). I used a whole pack of the Merry Moments DSP with my class last month, making Christmas Crackers. I will post the tutorial for you in a day or two!

Today’s card is one I made using the Home for Christmas DSP. I made two very slightly different versions of this card. I think I prefer the one with the Linen Thread and larger stars.

This was the first card. I used the Gold Metallic thread but think it’s too fine. So I made this version instead..

I think I prefer this one! What do you think?

Hand-Made New Home Card using Stampin’ Up! Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies

Hand-Made New Home Card using Stampin’ Up! Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies!

Like I said before, Stampin’ Up!’s Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies are not just for Christmas! I love being able to stretch seasonal craft products to use for everyday projects, so when I was messing around creating my Beach Hut card, I also created a hand-made new home card for a friend who has recently moved. What do you think?

My friend and her family based in a small town/village in the countryside and I thought the tree backdrop was perfect for this card. I mashed up the happy new year sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and the Alphabet Rotary stamp to come up with the greeting.

I’ll definitely be playing with these dies again, to see what else non-christmasy I can come up with!

I hope you like today’s project, I’ll be back with more so see you soon x

Hand-made DIY stamp and Stampin’ Up! Weekly Deals

Cute little bear card! Create your own hand-made DIY stamps using Stampin’ Up! Undefined Stamp Carving kit.

Good morning everyone. It’s a lovely sunny day here. We’re having a gentle start to the school Easter break so far. The boys have slept late (well late for them) every morning. I’ve had to be up to let the builders in. I can’t believe how much noise the builders have made without the boys waking up. I think all the learning they are doing at school has worn them out.

Anyways enough waffle about my little peeps. Here’s a card I made for another little person, who turned 3 at the weekend.

It’s a hand-made DIY stamp I carved last year. First I created a mask of the bear by stamping on a Post It note that is sticky all over and adhering it over the bear to protect him (I forgot to take a photo duh!). Then I made another mask of the circle (using the Circle framelits) from some scrap card stock and stuck it down using more sticky notes and sponged the circle in Pink Pirouette. I watercoloured the bear in Crumb Cake by taking ink off the inside of the ink pad lid with an Aquapainter. Then I highlighted him with the white gel pen once he was dry. So easy and so cute (well in my humble opinion anyway lol!).

I loved using the Undefined Stamp Carving Kit. I have been writing down ideas for more of them. So watch out I’ll be inflicting more of my little drawings on you at some point! Lol!

Now let’s see what lovely things are included in this week’s Weekly Deals!

Anyone for BBQ? Stampin’ Up! Hamburger box BBQ invite

Yay! I have another sneak peek for you today from the projects, that I made for Regional training back in May. I love this one (even if I do say so myself)!

And even more exciting, I am being featured as a guest, on the lovely Lisa’s blog Vintage Celebrations.

When I was growing up, my parents always held a BBQ around my birthday. I don’t know if its just fuzzy childhood recollection, but we seemed to be able to guarantee the weather back then! Those thoughts inspired this novel BBQ invitation.

Here’s the invite from inside – a little burger complete with a slice of tomato, plastic cheese slice and gherkin!

Unfortunately we’re not having a bbq tomorrow – we’re off to another kids party! The boys do have better social lives than their parents lol! Maybe Sunday, though if the weather is nice! Sausage anyone?
For this project I used:
Stamp Set: Just Sayin wood or clear, Hardwood wood or clear
Card stock: Crumb Cake (Hamburger box and bun), Early Espresso (burger), Real Red (tomato slice), Daffodil Delight (plastic cheese slice), Old Olive (gherkins), Basic Black (word bubbles),
Tools: Hamburger Box Bigz Die (available July 1st), Circles Framelits, Word Bubble Framelits, 1″ Circle punch, Chalk Marker Pen
Don’t forget to check out the RETIRING LISTS – lots of items have already sold out. If you want something make sure you order it NOW!
