It started as a CASE…. using Stampin’ Up! ® products

…I never thought it would end up like this!

Randomly (and I mean very), I have the Hot Chocolate song “It started with a Kiss ” going round and round in my head now from writing the blog title. The actual line from the song is “It started with a kiss, I never thought it would come to this! Ahem, moving on swiftly……

I’ve used a few new products (Framelits & Stamps) from the forthcoming Spring/Summer catalogue and the Sale-a-bration (SAB) promotion both of which start on the 28th January, and one of my favourites, the Expressions Thinlits, which will be retiring when the Autumn/Winter catalogue expires (2nd February).

For some reason, when I made this card, I thought I was casing one I had seen on Pinterest. I only glanced at the card briefly when I pinned it and didn’t refer to it when I was making mine. When I actually looked back at the card I thought I was casing I clearly wasn’t, which you will see when I do actually case it and post it next week. Is that cheap of me? Two blog posts from one “CASE” ha ha. I need all the time saving help I can get with my two little whirlwinds aka the Bedlam Brothers!

My four year old informed me yesterday that he was fed up with it raining everyday (join the club buster) and that if it was raining again today he was “going to have a right strop!” It made me laugh – I didn’t ask him what difference that would make to normal though – ha ha ha – that would have set him off on a “right strop”!

Well I hope you liked my card -it’s ideal for Valentine’s day isn’t it?

For this project you will need:

Stamps: En Français background, The Language of Love (available Jan 28th), Banner Blast (SAB freebie from Jan 28th),

Love the Glitter Paper – using Stampin’ Up! ® products

I have been bogged down in business admin the last few days and as a result had lost my mojo. To take a break (hmmm break or procrastination?), I had a “quick” look on Stampin Connection, which is a bit like Pinterest and Facebook rolled into one for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators world wide. A card by Julia Pitta in the US caught my eye (you can see Julia’s card here) and inspired me to get my craft supplies out and have a play.

This is the result. It’s very different to Julia’s card. I think it was the chevron’s pointing towards the heart on her card that made me think of the arrow going through the heart.

Anyway, I had fun making this card. It probably felt more fun as I was supposed to be doing admin! Well that’s still waiting for me to plough through this evening once the bedlam brothers are in bed!
For this project you will need:
Card Stock: Silver and Red Glimmer paper, Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock
Stamp Set: Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Real Red
Punches: Full heart and Chevron punch,
Dies: Expressions Thinlits (available in the Autumn/Winter Catalogue until February 1st)
Tools: Paper-Piercing, Stampin’ Pierce Mat and Essentials Paper Piercing Pack

A Medley of Christmas Cards – using Stampin’ Up! ® products

Well I finally managed to finish all my Christmas cards, including 42 for classmates and friends for Regan and 12 for Lewis’ playgroup.

Next year, remind me to pick one or two designs and stick to that. I was busy with workshops, classes and convention over October and November and didn’t really plan my own Christmas card making too well. When I finally started to make my own I ended up using up bits and pieces of what was there thinking it would save time – hmmmm not sure it did really.

Here’s a few of the designs I made:

I cut the word Merry from Silver Glimmer Paper using the Expressions Thinlits. (Top tip: use a layer of wax paper between the thinlit and card stock and the word will pop out really easily).

I used the Essentials paper-piercing pack to pierce the “strings” for the baubles.

I used the Essentials paper-piercing pack to pierce the border around the outside of the top layer on this card and the card at the top.

I used the sentiment from the Special Season Stamp set to stamp the greeting down the left side of this card. This card follows a design I made in August (except I didn’t do the paper piercing on this one as I made about 40 of them)

I used the Stampin’ Write markers on the gifts stack stamp from Wishing You, so each gift would be a different colour.

For these cards I have used the following products:

Card stock: Textured 12″ x 12″- Island Indigo (132132), Smoky Slate (132131), Cherry Cobbler (132129), Whisper White (106549), Silver Glimmer (124005)
    DSP: Winter Frost (132341)
Ink pads: Island Indigo (126986), Smoky Slate (131179), Coastal Cabana (131175), Cherry Cobbler (126966), Old Olive (126593)
Stampin’ Write Markers: Smoky Slate (131898), Coastal Cabana (131260 set of 5 In-colours 2013/15), Island Indigo (131262 Regals Collection)
    Stamp Sets: Delightful Dozen, Special Season (W 131766, C 131769), Wishing You (W 131748, C 131751), Very Merry Tags (W 130393, C 130402)
    Punches: Mosaic (131267), Hexagon (130919)
Tools: Expressions Thinlits Dies 132171, Paper piercer (126189), Stampin’ Pierce Mat (126199). Paper-Piercing Pack Essentials (126187)

Well so far I have managed to write and get about half my cards in the post. Number one task now is to complete the other half!

Today is the last day for orders if you want them before Christmas.

    Pinkie’s Autumn/Winter Catalogue bloghop!

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We’re showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using products from the new Stampin’ Up!® Autumn/Winter Seasonal Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping! If you have arrived here from Lisa’s blog, a big hello to you………

Now I know that this is a blog hop for the Autumn/Winter Catalogue and you probably automatically associate it with Christmas or Hallowe’en or even Thanksgiving for our American friends, but neither of the two projects I am showcasing today are any of these. My projects are “trans-seasonal” so it just goes to show how versatile Stampin’ Up! products are.

When the topic (and timing) of doing this blog post came up, I had a lightbulb moment. I would use products from the new catalogue to make the gift bag for our contribution to my sister’s and husband’s honeymoon (her wedding was last week) as I rarely get to craft, without there being a specific event, due to time constaints, two whirlwinds for children etc, etc. In this case I managed to combine my blog post project with a real-life event – two birds, one stone springs to mind!

I just loved the Expressions Thinlits from the moment I saw them and had been itching to use them as soon as possible. So the “Love” expression was perfect for what I needed and as I equally loved the
Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF for short) I just had to use it on the real red banner I stuck the “Love” sentiment to.

     All that glitter’s….

…. all over the floor. I used a sponge dauber and versamark ink with heat and stick powder to create the glittery spots on the bag. I had a slight mishap with the glitter though as I accidentally directed the heat gun over the loose glitter whilst I was trying to shake it over the sticky spots and it blew it all over me and all over the floor too. Note to self – heat guns blow like a hairdryer so turn off in close proximity to lots of loose glitter! Not to worry though you get so much in the little tub you would barely know I had used any of it anyway.

I still have an ahhh moment when I look at pictures of the little bag. I love it! The products I used are:

    From the Autumn/Winter Catalogue:
Mini Muslin Bags 132180Expressions Thinlits Dies 132171, Foil Sheets Silver 132178, Pretty Presents Designer Bows 132186, (Gold &) Silver Stampin’ Glitter 132205, Stylish Stripes TIEF 132174

    From the Annual Catalogue:
Sponge daubers 102892, Heat & Stick Powder 100625, Versamark ink 102283, Real Red cardstock 106578, Heat Tool 129054 (UK plug), 129055 (EU plug), Big Shot Magnetic Platform 130658

And so on to my next glittery offering (no accidents with this one thankfully). The day after my sister’s wedding last week, there was another family gathering for one of my aunt’s and uncle’s 50th wedding anniversary, so actually three birds, one stone would be more appropriate ha ha.

As it is the golden anniversary I have used gold glitter and foil this time.  I stamped the background wording with the Journal wheel from the annual catalogue on both the card and the envelope and used heat and stick powder again to stick the glitter to it. The envelope is actually made out of vellum paper. The 50 is stamped using the new Morning Post Numbers set in the autumn/winter catalogue and covered in glitter too.

    The products used are:

    From the Autumn/Winter Catalogue:
Expressions Thinlits Dies 132171, Foil Sheets Gold132622 132178, Gold (& Silver) Stampin’ Glitter 132205, Morning Post Numbers Stamp Set 131841
    From the Annual Catalogue:
