Christmas Tags – Bags, Tags & Boxes Week

Christmas Tags – Bags, Tags & Boxes Week

It’s Bags, Tags & Boxes Week on Bedlam & Butterflies! There won’t be any Christmas cards this week. I figured most people who are making their own Christmas cards will be done by now – or at least know what they are going to make, so I thought I would try to inspire other types of Christmas crafting. I will be making Christmassy bags, tags and boxes for you this week. I’m kicking off with some Christmas tags.

I’ve got three sets of Christmas tags to show you traditional colours with a modern design, contemporary colours and a more traditional design Kraft tags.

I’m also entering the first set of tags into the Global Design Project Color Combination challenge #GDP013 which is Real Red, Crumb Cake and Old Olive. I’ve teamed these colours up with Gorgeous Grunge and Festival of Trees for a modern look.

I made a trio of the same Christmas Tags. I’ve recently re-inked my Old Olive and it’s stamping very dark, plus the photo doesn’t really show the green up well I think because the light is bad today, but trust me that  Christmas Tree is Old Olive! Also I used Gold Glitter to add a bit of sparkle!

I also decided to try out some Christmassy blues but with a twist of orange for a contemporary colour scheme to compliment the modern design. What do you think?

I added Silver Glitter for some sparkle on these.

I love the mottled look of the second generation stamping of the Christmas Tree on this tag.

And now for some more traditional looking Christmas Tags I made using Kraft card stock and scraps of Designer Series Paper. These are so simple to make. All you need is a punch and a sentiment stamp.

#GDP012 – Festival of Trees from Stampin’ Up!

#GDP012 – Festival of Trees from Stampin’ Up!

Now I’ve finished the prep for my class tonight (well mostly), I managed to have a little play along for the CASE the designer challenge over on this week’s Global Design Project blog. I had to be quick, as have a loooong to do list today and no time! I used Festival of Trees from Stampin’ Up! and have not only cased the challenge host this week – Brian, but I inadvertently managed to case one of the design team, Jessica, too! Love her card, it’s stunning, go check it out! 🙂

Here’s my quick card.

I used the colour scheme (Pool Party, Whisper White and Cherry and sloping panel from Brian’s card. As I was in a hurry I didn’t think I’d be able to do a great slope free hand, so I used the houses edgelit from the Sleigh Ride edgelits dies set and just cut the houses off. Then I stamped the snow flakes from Perpetual Birthday over the panel and slightly embossed it using the Softly Falling embossing folder – yes I stood on it again!! Lol!

I added a bit of bling with sequin trim and glimmer paper – well it is nearly christmas and you can never have too much bling can you? 🙂

The final touch was the sentiment stamped in Cherry Cobbler. What do you think?

I am now have ideas for variations of this card buzzing around in my head. Hopefully I will get the chance to have another play when I’m all packed up for my class – got to run out now to buy some mince pies for the ladies – yes I know it’s not even December yet but its the last formal class before Christmas. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it! 🙂

White Christmas using Stampin’ Up! products

TGIF Challenges #TGIFC30 – White Christmas using Stampin’ Up! products  – gift voucher holder

I’m back today with a White Christmas using Stampin’ Up! products – I was inspired by the Softly Falling embossing folder to create a decorated envelope for my customer gift vouchers this Christmas. I was going to save it for my Tags, Bags and Boxes theme, that I’ll be posting next week, but I’m entering this into the TGIF White Christmas Challenge as it was too perfect a challenge theme to miss. Go and check out the stunning projects the design team have created for this challenge, seriously I love them all!

The Softly Falling embossing folder from Stampin’ Up! just screams White Christmas to me – don’t you think?

I made the envelope using the Neutrals Envelope Paper, Whisper White of course. I ran it through the Big Shot in the Softly Falling embossing folder with the side and bottom flaps outside the folder, so that only the front and the top flap (that you use to close the envelope) are embossed. I then made a simple tag using the ornate tag top punch and Festival of Trees. It’s so pretty!

I’m teaming the envelope up with the card I made last week and it will be how I package my customer gift vouchers this year! (So if you know someone in UK, Germany, France, Austria or Netherlands who would like a Stampin’ Up! voucher for Christmas let me know 😉).

For those of you who do follow my blog, I will be posting the video from Friday’s card at some point this week. Unfortunately I need to re-record it! Those technical gremlins beat me! But bear with me they will not win!! 🙂

Well I do hope you like today’s project.  Don’t forget that the Retiring List has been published fort the current Autumn/Winter Seasonal catalogue, which means if it is on the list then it is not being carried over to the new Spring/Summer catalogue and therefore won’t be available beyond January 4th 2016.

Festival of Trees from Stampin’ Up!

Christmas inspiration for the Global Design Project “Christmas challenge (#GDP011) using Festival of Trees from Stampin’ Up!

Ok so it’s official, Christmas is on the way! Today’s card for the Global Design Project “Christmas challenge (#GDP011) uses Festival of Trees from Stampin’ Up! combined with a dash of Lucky Stars embossing folder and a sprinkle of Gorgeous Grunge – oh and not to forget a scattering of Jingle All the Way!

I think I’m going with this version of my card for #GDP011. I’ve seen loads of cards recently being embossed after stamping, which is what inspired today’s cards.

I wanted a subtler look for the embossing, so I didn’t run this one through the embossing folder. I’ll show you how I did it at the end of this post!

This one I ran through the big shot to emboss.

So how did I get that lighter embossing on the landscape version of this card? Easy……

…. I just put the card in the embossing folder then I stood on it! I moved my foot around to make sure I covered the whole of the card front! Dont worry – no embossing folders were hurt during this procedure! Lol! 🙂

Christmas is coming! Stampin’ Up! Christmas Card

Stampin’ Up! Christmas Card using Layered Letters Alphabet and Festival of Trees!

I don’t believe it! I’ve uttered the C-Word and it’s still only (just) July! Normally Christmas doesn’t get a look in in this house until December, but since joining Stampin’ Up! it’s starting to creep in earlier. August to be precise, as that is when we Demonstrators get our hands on the lovely goodies in the Autumn/Winter catalogues! Are you insanely jealous? Do you too want to get a head start with Christmas crafting? Sign up! You can order from the new Autumn/Catalogue in your Starter Kit from August 4th! How cool is that?!? It will be available for everyone from September 1st.

I, for one, can’t wait for the pre-order as I’ve seen what’s in the new catalogue! I can’t believe I’m going on holiday though right in the middle!! Sooooooo, today’s Stampin’ Up! Christmas card was just to kick start the fun.

I came across a sketch of a card idea I’d had in an old notebook and decided to create it last night when I got home from my class. I’m not entirely happy with it. I think there’s something missing maybe?

What do you think? All the products used are currently available in the Annual Catalogue!

A Festival of Trees from Stampin’ Up!

The new Autumn/Winter catalogue from Stampin’ Up!® is now available to order from. If you are in the UK and would like me to send you copy then please let me know and I will pop one in the post to you.

There is soooooo much I would like, it was difficult to narrow it down. One of my must haves though was the photopolymer set Festival of Trees, not only because there is a matching Tree punch, but that does help! Lol!

I also used the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch, which I ran through my Big Shot in the new On Point Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used the circle as a guide to stick the photopolymer sentiment stamps onto a clear block so I could follow the circle with the sentiment. I love that the photopolymer are so sticky that you can manipulate them to a certain extent to do that.

I have a thing for punches and one of the other absolute must haves was the Confetti Stars Punch. I’ve teamed it up with the Festival of Trees and Tree Punch for this card. I couldn’t resist Lost Lagoon as the colour theme again. I bodged up the sentiment on this card but rescued it by using the Word Window Punch.

Stampin’ Up! have released a number of videos on products from the new catalogue on their YouTube channel. Check them out here!

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s projects. See you Wednesday x
