Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin’ Up!

Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin’ Up!

I had the perfect opportunity this weekend to get out one of my all time favourite stamp sets, Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin’ Up! and it’s the star of the show this time, not just lurking in the background! I’m playing along with Less is More’s Week 280 challenge which is themed “Splatters”. As soon as I saw the theme, I knew it just had to be Gorgeous Grunge.

Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin' Up! Tracy May LIM #280

It was a lovely sunny day on Saturday when I was making this card and that influenced my choice of colours I think. I decided to create something similar to my blog header. I used the Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay but changed Smoky Slate to Daffodil Delight for a much brighter look!

The little butterflies are from Garden in Bloom and the sentiment and underlining dots are from Sunnburst Sayings, which I’ve not really used much. I will have to do something about that!

I heat embossed the sentiment in the dots using clear embossing powder, by first inking up my stamps with Versamark and then Memento Tuxedo Black. When you stamp the black ink goes on first and the Versamark ends up on top so the powder sticks to it! Clever hey!! ūüôā

Well I hope you like my bright and cheerful card! I do but then I’m biased aren’t I? Lol!

Challenge card using Stampin’ Up! ¬ģ Garden in Bloom for Freshly Made Sketches and Less Is More¬†

Well my new found organised self was short lived! One week of the school holidays and it’s back to bedlam and chaos! Lol! I think I will mostly be chasing my tail this week now! 😆

I’m kicking off the week with a last minute entry to Freshly Made Sketches¬†sketch #230 using Stampin’ Up!’s Garden in Bloom set again.

I’m also doubling up with this week’s Less is More¬†colour challenge¬†White¬†space¬†but¬†not¬†¬†WHITE¬†

I stamped the Butterflies, flowers and leaves using Memento Tuxedo black. As I was colouring with pencils I used a special paper designed for coloured pencils which has a bit more tooth to it.

I had a friend over last night and she sat colouring in my colouring book whilst I sat colouring the panel for my card. This was the second attempt. The first ended up being too busy with lots more flowers and bees and very little blue space, so I binned it and started again. It’s very therapeutic colouring and chatting – I highly recommend it!

The sentiment is from Number of Years, which I love but have not really used much yet.

I best get on with it in case it’s not included in the new annual catalogue due out beginning of June. I can sense the excitement building amongst my fellow demonstrators. We will all get to see the new catalogue in the flesh at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage events starting¬†14th April with OnStage Live in Salt Lake City. I’m going to be at the OnStage Local event in Telford, UK on Saturday 16th and I can’t wait!

I think we may find out what will be retiring from the current catalogue at the event. One thing I do know for sure though is that the current 2014-2016 In Colors will be retiring, so make sure you get your refills ordered sooner rather than later for those ink pads. The retiring colour ink pads, refills and paper packs usually sell out in the first few days the retiring list is announced!

Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer 2016 Catalogue - SAB

So it’s colour challenge week over at Global Design Project, this week. The colours are Bermuda Bay, Tangelo Twist and Early Espresso. I love blue and orange together – no problemo! Add dark brown to the mix…. hmmm. I played it safe and just added a panel of Early Espresso behind my card front. You can’t see much of it and it looks more like black in the photo, but it is Early Espresso¬†– trust me!! Lol!

I’ve been wanting to get Garden in Bloom out for a play for ages and today’s card was the perfect opportunity. I stamped the outline flower in Bermuda Bay and added a splodge of Tangelo Twist to the flower center. I think I used the stamp that is meant to fill in the bee – I was in a rush. It’s the Easter holidays here and so the Bedlam Brothers are off, leaving a trail of chaos and bedlam in their wake! 😬

I also stamped the outline of the smaller flower in Tangelo Twist in between the larger flower. I finished off with a sentiment from Another Thank You stamped in White StazOn. I would ordinarily have used White embossing powder but somehow mine got red glitter in it. I don’t know where from as I don’t have any red glitter¬†and¬†I didn’t think the red would go with Tangelo Twist! 😃

What do you think?

Well I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s projects.  Don’t forget the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration promotion finishes on Thursday 31st March.

Simple Handmade Greetings Cards

Simple Handmade Greetings Cards using Stampin’ Up! Garden In Bloom

Good morning peeps! Hope you had a good weekend. We went to see the Minions film yesterday. I think I enjoyed it more than the boys did. It was great fun. There was a great soundtrack of 1960s music, which had the boys out of their seats dancing. They just couldn’t sit still when the music was playing! So if I keep randomly shouting out BAN-NAN_NA you’ll know why (if you’ve seen the film that is) lol!

Today’s card is for the CASology Cue Word Challenge – Repeat. I was going to post this on Friday but I kept mucking it up getting stray ink splodges from the blocks and my fingers all over it. I was trying to do it too quickly. So I gave up, posted a different card for you and took a bit more time over this one on Saturday.

I hope you like the cards, They’re certainly brightening up my room on this dull dreary day!

Is Your Garden In Bloom?

Thank You cards using the new Stampin’ Up! Garden In Bloom stamp set.

Hey there, how’re you doing? My order arrived the other day and despite my previous visions of diving straight for the beautiful Watercolor Wings stamp set, I was instantly drawn to the Garden In Bloom stamp set. It’s stunning!

These little beauties were knocked out quickly and easily and had time permitted, then there would have been a whole heap more!
