Paper pieced Talented Trio featuring Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin’ Up!

Paper pieced Talented Trio featuring Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin’ Up!  for Less Is More Lucky Dip Week 248 Challenge.

No Christmas cards today. I’m giving you all a break! Ha ha :-). Instead I have a bright and cheery birthday card using Talented Trio featuring Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin’ Up! I’ve teamed it up with one of my all time favourites Gorgeous Grunge. Im entering this card in to the Less Is More Lucky Dip Week 248 Challenge where the theme is paper piecing – I threw in some paper piercing just in case I had misread it – ha ha! Covering all bases!!

I decided on Talented Trio as the smock (or pinafore?) the little girl is wearing is ideal for paper piecing – I used a design from the Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper. The Gorgeous Grunge came about as I was colouring in the little girl and the paint brushes. She reminds me of my niece and I was thinking about her whilst I was colouring. I have introduced my niece to card making and I was remembering letting her use my stamps and ink pads when she came to stay over the summer – she managed to get ink everywhere! I had to look away as she mashed the stamps in to the ink pads – she’s still a bit heavy handed but she is still young and I didn’t want to put her off with my OCD! Lol!

I coloured the little girl in with some coloured pencils. It’s such a dreary day today so this card is the perfect antidote. I hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by – have a fun weekend where-ever you are!

Watercolor Wings Global Design Project Challenge Card (#GDP009)

Watercolor Wings from Stampin’ Up! – clean and simple card idea for Global Design Project Challenge Card (#GDP009)

As both the Bedlam Brothers (aka my two pesky sons) are now at school full time, I promised myself that I would enter more blog challenges. This is in itself a challenge! I used to be a very organised, efficient individual. And then I had children!!!! Enough said!!! 🙂

Ha ha, I love them dearly of course, but since having the boys, I seemed to have acquired permanent baby brain and become completely disorganised. The upshot being that I haven’t managed as many challenges as I would like. I’m making some progress though and managed a couple of challenge entries last week. This week I’m playing along with the Global Design Challenge Blog – #GDP009, whose challenge is a colour scheme – Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder. I did groan at first and thought I would end up skipping this one on purpose. I am “challenged” immensely by colour combinations. My instant reaction is, that I have to cover the whole card with the colours, which I struggle with doing without ending up with a card that looks like the dog’s dinner.  I prefer clean and simple (as in easier) cards to make! Then I remembered the sketch challenge from last week, that I had managed to enter this card in to.

To me the sketch fit the bill perfectly, allowing me to use all 3 colours, but in a way I could cope with! Lol! 🙂

What do you think? I stamped off the Gorgeous Grunge and Work of Art images once before stamping on to the card front. My ink pads are so juicy still, as I’ve not used these colours much, that I had to stamp the butterfly off 3 times for the background, before adding the second stamp for the wing tips. I also highlighted the wing tips with Dazzling Details, which unfortunately doesn’t show up too well in the picture.

Thanks for stopping by, I do hope you like my project. Before you go, why don’t you take a look at this week’s deals.

Home for Christmas – Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper

Cute Bambi on Gorgeous Grunge snow created using Home for Christmas – Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper!

So now I’ve written the title I have Chris Rea echoing round my head with Driving Home for Christmas. It’s the first song that sprang to mind when I saw the name of the cute reindeer and santa Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper – Home for Christmas – in the Autumn/Winter Catalogue. And it’s the song that springs to mind every time I see it. You will probably realise over time (if you follow my blog or Facebook or Instagram pages) that certain words or sentences make songs pop into my head! Then they stay there, often very annoyingly, for a few days. Actually it’s probably more annoying for the people around me, who hear my tuneless wailing of these songs.

Stampin' Up! Home for Christmas DSP card by Tracy May

Actually, I got carried away and made seven of them in total! Isn’t it cute? I didn’t realise when I made this card, that I must have accidentally CASE’d Jennifer McGuire. I had seen her video a few weeks before I made this card, but I didn’t twig until a few days afterwards. Oops – thanks for the inspiration though Jennifer. I still had to share my card as it’s so cute.

I cut the cute little Bambi dear out of the Stampin’ Up! Home for Christmas designer series paper. This paper is lovely. The little Bambi has to be my favourite pattern though. I’ve seen so many cards with these little dears cut out now. They’re certainly very popular.

The “snow” was created by stamping one of the ink splurges from Gorgeous Grunge in Versamark a few times in the same place, then heat embossing with white embossing powder.

I hope you like the card. Thanks for stopping by.

CAS (clean and simple) Butterfly card

Chaotic CAS (clean and simple) card created using Stampin’ Up! supplies.

I know chaotic and CAS (clean and simple) don’t usually appear in the same sentence but that’s what springs to mind when I look at this card. I made it for a friend’s birthday back at the end of November when I was in the midst of chaos with a building project to extend my home, yearning for peace and quiet and a clean house (not possible when you’ve got the builders in).

I haven’t posted a Butterfly card for a while so when I came across this in my pictures earlier I thought I would share it today, hence the .

I used a mixture of stamps (Gorgeous Grunge, Kinda Eclectic and Says It All), threw in some DSP (Confetti Celebration) and some Linen thread as well. Despite the one little area of the card being kind of chaotic it still has lots of white space and makes for a CAS card – clean and simple!

I made a star shaped box to match that housed one of the star shaped candles I’ve shown previoulsy in this post which includes a free tutorial for how to make the star shaped box.

Well I hope you enjoyed today’s projects and the splash of colour.  Thanks for stopping by.

A Dazzling Diamond of a 60th Stampin’ Up! Card

Stampin’ Up! UK Demonstrator Bedlam and Butterflies – Dazzling Diamond 60th Birthday Card.

Well I do love a bit of bling and what better way to get it than Stampin’ Up!® glimmer paper. I love this stuff and am so pleased they have introduced some new colours in this year’s annual catalogue. I think my favourite has to be Dazzling Diamond. It gives that wow factor – unlike my photography I’m afraid, which just doesn’t capture how lovely this card really is!

A friend cut the numbers from Dazzling Diamond Glimmer paper using her Cameo Silhouette. I would love one, but it will have to wait until my new craft room is ready! We’re just finishing up week 1 of our 14 week build project. I’m so excited. I will end up with my very own craft room, which will double up as a spare bedroom when we have visitors. I can’t wait. Hopefully I can then set up an area specifically for taking photos of my projects and get to the stage where I can take decent shots!

I used Gorgeous Grunge for the background and cut the feathers out using the feather framelits, that match the Four Feathers stamp set (available as a bundle with a 15% discount) from the Autumn-Winter catalogue.
I hope you like today’s card. Thanks for stopping by

A kinda eclectic flower frenzy with Stampin’ Up!

Good morning peeps, I am up bright and early in a vain attempt to get back into some sort of morning routine following the school holidays. My eldest son is back to school tomorrow – Year 1. He is so proud. It’s a BIG thing to a 5 year old not being the youngest in the school.

Anwyay on to Stampin’ Up! and lovely projects. Also there is a lovely new offer to tell you about but first I wanted to share a card I made with my class last week. It’s a miss mash of about 3 cards I saw on Pinterest.

First I was inspired by this card and I remembered I had seen this one previously too, and finally I added a touch of this one. I love the results.
I used the following Stampin’ Up products:
Stamps: Kinda Eclectic (wood or clear), Gorgeous Grunge (wood or clear) and Hi There! (wood or clear)
I hope you like today’s card as much as I do.
And now for that new lovely offer from Stampin’ Up!. Between now and 31st October, hostesses can earn a lovely exclusive stamp set for free. In fact you don’t have to host a party as you can also earn it for free on all qualifying orders of 300 €/£200 (catalogue price before shipping and handling). If you are local to me and are interested in hosting a party then feel free to give me a call for more information.

Don’t forget about this week’s deals:

You are Awesome – Work of Art with #PLxSU

I posted a sneak peek of this card on my Facebook page a couple of weeks ago and it went down a storm. I often post sneak peeks of my Stampin’ Up! ® projects on Facebook so check out my page and “Like” if you want to be kept up to date with those.

One of the things I love about Stampin’ Up! is the matching products. To stamp the sentiment for this card I simply used a Stampin’ Write Marker to colour the words of the sentiment stamp that I wanted – the full sentiment says You are an Awesome Work of Art! Also the word bubble in the Project Life Point & Click stamp set co-ordinates with the Word bubble framelits.

For today’s project you will need the following Stampin’ Up! products:

Rubber stamps: Work of Art wood or clear, Gorgeous Grunge wood or clear, #PLxSU Point & Click photopolymer
Ink pads: Soft Sky, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate, Melon Mambo
Tools: Word Bubble framelits
Embellishments: Rhinestones, White Baker’s Twine

I’ve got two sick little boys off school and playgroup today but I’m beginning to wonder how sick they really are. It doesn’t seem to have curbed their energy levels much!!! I’m typing this post in-between my youngest climbing up onto my lap to “help” lol!

I hope you like today’s project. I’ll be back on Wednesday with more so be sure to pop back then or subscribe to my blog posts so you don’t miss them

And now for something borrowed and blue using Stampin’ Up! products

Yay it’s nearly the weekend. I hope you have a glorious one planned peeps! And now for my final instalment in this week’s non wedding theme – something old, something new, something borrowed and blue. Yeah I know all very tenuous lol! I hope you’ve enjoyed the creative inspiration anyway!

stampin up uk Tracy May Gorgeous Grunge Swallowtail card making ideas

So just to explain this theme – the blue is probably obvious given the card is predominantly stamped with various shades of Stampin’ Up! blues – Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, with a splash of Melon Mambo and the new Daffodil Delights Blendabilities thrown in. The borrowed comes from the fact that this card was inspired by the make and take, that my fellow Pinkie Elaine Matthews, made for a recent training event organised by my upline Michelle Last. I hardly ever finish the make and takes at training as I am so busy catching up with everyone and I forgot to take a picture of Elaine’s lovely project – so I decided to create a simplified version from memory! I hope you like it.

I used the following Stampin’ Up! projects for this card:

Rubber Stamps: Swallowtail wood or clear, Gorgeous Grunge wood or clear, sentiment from Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit
Card Stock: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay
Ink: Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo
Tools: Chevron Border Punch, Daffodil Delight Blendabilities (coming soon)

Thanks for stopping by – don’t forget about the retiring list and the joining up offer! x

Another sneak peek from the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue

Woohoo – I love the new catalogue! There are lots of gorgeous new Stampin’ Up!® products coming soon, that I for one, can not wait to try out. Today’s product is the “something new” from my totally non wedding something old, something new, something borrowed and blue theme going on this week (yes I know its a very tenuous link to the theme but humour me lol!)

stampin up uk independent demonstrator Tracy May itty bitty accents punch pack

I love the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. I chose the flower shape from the set to show off the new Stampin’ Up! In-colours 2014-2016 (from left to right) Tangelo Twist, Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon. I stamped the splatter background from Gorgeous Grunge (wood or clear) in Hello Honey, and the sentiment from A Fitting Occasion (wood or clear).

Well I hope you like today’s project – see you Friday for the final instalment in the theme – something borrowed and blue (a two in one project lol).

How many retiring Stampin’ Up! stamp sets can you get on one card?

Good morning everyone. It’s a lovely sunny day today. We’re not back into the normal school routine though as my eldest son got chicken pox last week, on his 5th birthday poor thing, so he’s not back to school yet.

Well on with the show. The answer to the question in the title is in fact 4. Yes I’m sad to say Simply Stars, Off the Grid, Film Strip and Express Yourself are all on the retiring list! I’m happy to say that Gorgeous Grunge, however, is here to stay! Yippee – that one is one of my favourites.

The silver glimmer paper is also retiring, but will be back in a slightly different form in the new catalogue! Again it’s another favourite so I am happy its not disappearing altogether.

I know that products on the retiring list in the US sold out fairly quickly, so if there is anything on the list that you have had your eye on, I would advise placing and order for it sooner rather than later!

The new catalogue is out on July 1st, but if you can’t wait until then to get your hands on some of the gorgeous new goodies, why not join my team either at the normal price starter kit priced at 129€/£99 (175€/£130 product value) or with the limited time offer starter kit of 65€/£50 for which you can choose 70€/£55 of product value. Interested? Go on give me a call
