Guy Greetings by Stamping’ Up!

Guy Greetings by Stamping’ Up! #CCMC445

It’s Thursday! And you know what that means don’t you? Yes it’s time for this week’s challenge over at Create with Connie & Mary!  And it’s a sketch this week. At first I had pretty and pink and flowers in mind but then I remembered I need a man card for a friend’s birthday this week. One of the design team had used Guy Greetings by Stamping’ Up! on the last sketch challenge and that inspired me to get it out for today’s card.

Guy Greetings by Stampin' Up! Tracy May #CCMC445

  • I started by masking the oblong from the sketch using post it notes and created the ombre effect with Soft Sky, Pool Party and Marina Mist ink.
  • I then stamped the guy and anchor onto a scrap of Whisper White. I used the Stitched Shapes dies to cut out the anchor but cut the guy out by hand.
  • Then I added a little Marina Mist with a blender pen just to give him some colour.
  • Under the banner, I’ve stamped the drinks cup stain from Timeless Textures.
  • Then I attached the banner and the anchor circle to the card front, using the (sadly) now retired handheld stapler.
  • The card front is mounted onto a Marina Mist card base.
  • The guy is attached using some Stamping’ Dimensionals.

All in all I’m reasonably happy with the card and I think my friend will think it’s a bit quirky and hopefully should like it! Please do pop over to the Create with Connie & Mary challenge blog to see what the rest of the team has come up with for you this week!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Hootenanny – Stampin’ Up! Owl Punch

Happy Hootenanny – Stampin’ Up! Owl Punch New Year’s Card for CASology’s Owl Challenge

Please, please, please forgive the dreadful pun! You’ll see what I mean when you scroll down to see the card! I’m entering today’s project into CASology’s Owl Challenge. The only Owl related crafting item I possess is the Stampin’ Up! Owl Punch and so that is what I used. I decided on a New Year’s card as I’ve been thinking about what is happening after Christmas, what we’re doing to celebrate on New Year’s Eve and starting to plan ahead to 2016 for new classes with the lovely new products from the forthcoming Spring/Summer catalogue.

Stampin' Up! Owl Punch Tracy May New Years Card

So now you see what I mean about the dreadful pun! Sorry! 😆

These days, New Year’s Eve is a fairly quiet event. We don’t go off to busy bars or parties anymore – firstly we don’t have the stamina for it now and secondly we can’t get a willing babysitter. If we do go out, it’s mainly just my husband and I, having a quiet meal and we’re always back home early because it’s David’s elderly parents looking after the kids, so we head home early so as not to keep them up too late. We then usually end up watching Jules Holland’s Hootenanny New Year’s Eve programme on TV for the count down to midnight! We know how to rock! Lol!

Well I hope you like today’s silly little card! It’s good to create something silly and frivolous from time to time don’t you think?

By the way, the owl’s little hat is from Guy Greetings in case you’re wondering? Oh and the extra sliver of silver glimmer paper and the red glimmer heart??? Yep – hiding inky fingerprints! 😁

Guy Greetings from Stampin’ Up!

Clean and simple card using Guy Greetings from Stampin’ Up! – CASology Week 171 – Vehicle!

I’m back with a super quick post today. I’m entering this card using Guy Greetings from Stampin’ Up! in to the CASology Cue Word Challenge for Week 171 – Vehicle being the cue word. I went for a super simple card but added some extra interest by scoring a double border around the edges of the card front. I also changed the sentiment from Grandpa which comes in the stamp set to Grandad as that is what my boys call my father-in-law and this card will double up as his birthday card from them.

Guy Greetings from Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator, Tracy May

I simply inked up GRAN from the GRANPA stamp and stamped it. Then I inked up the separate DAD stamp and stamped it at the end of GRAN, which is very easy to do using the photopolymer stamps. I coloured the image using a blender pen and Classic Stampin’ Pads in Real Red and Old Olive! It was a super quick, easy card. My father-in-law will be 87 so no doubt I’ll add something cheeky along the lines of this resembling his first car! 🙂

Right, got to dash I’m prepping (or rather trying to) my swaps for Stampin’ Up! OnStage Live in between picking up the boys from school and getting them dinner and ready for bed. No doubt it will be a late one as I haven’t even finalised the design of the swaps yet! Eeeek!
