High Tide by Stampin’ Up!

High Tide by Stampin’ Up! #CCMC449

Yay it’s Thursday! Time for another sketch challenge over at Create with Connie & Mary! Originally I had intended to try to use Designer Series Paper (DSP) for this week’s challenge. It was to be an extra challenge to myself as I don’t use enough DSP on my cards. And guess what – yes I have reams of the stuff lying totally unused!!

But, I really wanted to use High Tide by Stampin’ Up! for one of the challenges this month and for some reason, this one just seemed perfect for it!

High Tide by Stampin' Up! Tracy May #CCMC449

It took a couple of goes before I found the best way to create this. It’s actually really easy! The stamps are photopolymer so lining them up was easy. I did use a stamp positioned as well for the birds so that they would line up properly.

Basically all you need to do is stamp the scene twice onto two pieces of Whisper White card. Once I had both scenes stamped I cut one down to 8cm x 10cm and then cut it into three panels. I then lined the panels up over the image on the card front to create the triptych. Easy! (Well kind of – lol!)

I’m really happy with the way it’s turned out and I hope you like it too! Please do pop over to see what the rest of the lovely design team have come up with this week!

Yay it’s Thursday and time for another challenge from Create with Connie & Mary. This week it’s a sketch challenge. Normally I am quite literal in my interpretation of the sketches. But this week, I decided to have some fun and go with a looser translation of it. I’ve used Chase Your Dreams by Stampin’ Up! and teamed it up with High Tide and Kinda Eclectic too!

This was a really quick card to make once I’d decided on the design.

  • Using a post it note as a mask, stamp the sun from Kinda Eclectic twice but slightly offset from each other;
  • Stamp the sea waves stamp from High Tide in 2 different shades of blue ink all the way across the card front and over the top of the lower sun image;
  • Stamp the Sydney Opera House onto a scrap of Whisper White and cut it out;
  • The sentiment is from Thankful Thoughts;
  • Mount the card front on a Basic Black card base and then add the cut out Sydney Opera House raised up on Stampin’ Dimensionals!

This was a really fun card to make and I love how it’s turned out! I hope you like it to. Do pop along to Create with Connie and Mary to see what the rest of the design team have come up with this week!
