Flippin’ mad over flip cards!

Flip cards created using a variety of Stampin’ Up! products.
Good morning, peeps and how’re things today? We all got hit by a dreadfull stomach bug last week, except for my eldest son, who never seems to get anything that’s doing the rounds. It was like a domino effect – first my youngest son, then the hubby and finally me! Boo – I don’t do being sick but luckily was able to take to my bed and hide for a while. We’re all back on our feet now though thankfully.

In the middle of all of this it was my youngest son’s 4th birthday. He was so excited. I was struggling with the shaker card I had in my head not working well on paper, so the final card I ended up making at midnight the night before his birthday is actually the original design I had before I decided to make a shaker card! Life’s just like that sometimes isn’t it? Lol.

I am pleased to say the little chap loved the card and it even got an “Awesome” when he flipped it and saw the reverse.

One of my class ladies had asked to do flip cards using framelits in my April class as she’d seen a few YouTube videos but not had the chance to give it a go. I have seen simpler flip cards where only one half of the shape is cut from the card base, but I love the Stampin’ Up! Circle Card thinlits die, which cuts from two sides with the middle left intact, so I used this as the template for my design.

It’s really simple to just take the measurements of the completed card made using the Circle Card thinlits and create with any shape framelit you like. So far I’ve tried labels, stars and butterflies! It’s great fun – like my post title says I’ve gone flippin’ mad over flip cards lol!

Ok well I’m off – eek less than an hour left before I have to pick up my little one from nursery. Hope you have a great day. Thanks for stopping by.

Scrapbooking with my Stampin’ Up! Stash

Scrapbooking with my Stampin’ Up! Stash

I’m helping a friend who is organising a scrapbooking crop on Sunday, so I thought I had better add to my own meagre collection of scrapbook pages completed so far, about 3 in total – although one of those is a Project Life page.

I really want to preserve our family memories, but it’s always dropping to the bottom of the to-do list. Let’s face it – cards are much quicker to make and you don’t have to sift through loads of photos to find the ones that are good enough to print and make layouts or Project Life pages with. So when my friend mentioned she wanted to organise a crop and would I be interested I jumped at the chance. Just the kick up the butt required to get those wedding photos printed off and the baby photos too.

I thought I would have a play around in advance and this is what I came up with after raiding my Stampin’ Up! stash. It’s a 12″x12″ layout.

I played around with spritzing. I’m improving finally! Me and spritzing don’t usually get on well. I raided the Hooray It’s Your Day Simply Created Kit for the sun ray mask and wooden embellishments. It’s not perfect I know, but I’m really pleased with it overall and I hope you like it. I’ll hopefully have some more memory keeping projects to share after Sunday’s crop. I’m going to try to complete my So You Simply Created Mini-Album Kit and do some Project Life pages as well.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

My Stampin’ Up! Spring/Summer Top 10 – No.7 Chalkboard Paper and ColorBox Chalk Ink

Stampin’ Up! Chalkboard Paper and ColorBox Chalk Inks

Hi, I’m back with No. 7 from my Stampin’ Up! ® Spring/Summer  Catalogue Top 10! Today’s projects are all made using the fabulous new Chalkboard Paper and ColorBox Chalk Inks. There are 3 colours available in the inks: Citrus Yellow, Aquamarine and Rose Coral.

There is a smooth side to the Chalkboard paper which is for stamping with the ColorBox Chalk Inks. The results are a lovely muted chalky effect. The other more slightly coarses side of the Chalkboard paper is ideal for stamping with the Stampin’ White Craft Ink.

I made this card using the Big Day! stamp set, which you can choose as one of the free Sale-a-bration gifts with a £45 order.

Don’t think the ColorBox Chalk inks can only be used with the Chalkboard paper. I teamed them up with velum and Whsiper White card stock. You get a completely different look – the colours are strong and vibrant.

This is a “tongue-in-cheek” card for my sons to give their grandfather. He’s really not into birthday cards but he’s getting one anyway! I used the Hooray It’s Your Day set again – No. 3 in my list from the Stampin’ Up! Spring/Summer Catalogue

Another little velum gift bag using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s projects. Have a great weekend. I hope you get the chance to do some crafting. Thanks for stopping by

My Stampin’ Up! Spring/Summer Top 10 – No. 3 Hooray It’s Your Day Card Kit

Hooray It’s Your Day! Good morning, I hope you all had a lovely weekend. It’s a bit of a grey day here but there’s lots of hustle and bustle as work continues on our extension. I’ve got some bright and cheery cards for you today, which are from the new Stampin’ Up! Hooray It’s Your Day Project Kit with it’s co-ordinating Hooray It’s Your Day Photopolymer stamp set. This kit is my No. 3 in my Top 10 from the new Spring/Summer catalogue 2015.

Can you spot my not so deliberate mistake on the card below? With a clever save (even if I do say so myself lol) of a strip of washi tape!

I have to admit, I would have bought this kit just for the Sunburst mask that comes with it, but it’s packed with fantastic card bases, embellishments and coloured envelopes – enough to make 20 cards. I’ve been struggling with spritzing for some reason, so I sponged the ink over the masks. I will master the technique though (it’s on my todo list!).

For the above two cards, I used the co-ordinating Hooray It’s Your Day Photopolymer stamp set. However, there is nothing to say you can’t use what you have already. I used the Thanks stamp from the Hip Hip Hooray Simply Created Card Kit for the sentiment for this card.

You also don’t have to follow the Stampin’ Up! card designs shown on the kit instructions. Go on be creative and come up with your own designs. I simply reversed the card blank for this card, but you can come up with so many other designs, which I will be doing later on once I’ve finished my Top 10!

Well I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s projects. Don’t forget about the Sale-a-bration offer. Feel free to contact me for more details. If you’re interested in signing up I am more than happy to have a no obligation chat with you and would love to welcome you to my team.
