Number of Years by Stampin’ Up!

Dream Theme Blog Hop #3

Welcome to the second Dream Theme Blog Hop. It’s a monthly blog hop featuring some amazing Stampin’ Up!® Independent Demonstrators from around the world. This month we are sharing amazing, inspirational New Years Eve card ideas. Currently you’re visiting me, Tracy May from London, UK. To continue along the blog hop, please use the links below.

I’ve combined a number of stamp sets for today’s card starting with Number of Years by Stampin’ Up! with the coordinating Large Numbers framelits. There is even a sneak peek from the new Spring/Summer Catalogue 2017 due in a couple of weeks! The Balloons are from a Fabulous new set called Birthday Bright!

I don’t usually make New Years Cards as we don’t really send them in the UK, so I’ve stuck with a fairly traditional Christmas Colour scheme of red and gold. I used gold embossing powder and versamark as a base ink before inking the stamp in red so that I could get a two tone look – what do you think?

Pretty In Pink using Stampin’ Up! Products

Pretty In Pink using Stampin’ Up! Products

Have you seen the new Stampin’ Up! ® Annual catalogue yet? It’s absolutely lovely! I had my catalogue launch event and all my ladies think it’s the best one they’ve seen and want everything! Glad I’m not alone there! Today’s project is using brand new Stampin’ Up! products combined with some that have carried over from the spring/summer catalogue!

I had to make birthday cards for twins this weekend. They are a boy and girl and I wanted different cards for them. I used Swirly Bird and Number of Years for the little girl and No Bones About it and Number of Years for the little boy. I really didn’t have a choice on colour scheme for the little girl – she LOVES pink!

I kept the sentiment the same but I didn’t want to just do a blue version of the card as I think twins tend to get given the same things and I wanted to give them each something a bit different – what do you think?

I used the retired 2-1/2″ circle punch as I am in between circle framelits having sold my retired ones in my BOGOF sale on Saturday! Oops bad planning there lol! 😉

The sentiment is from Number of Years and is not quite so rounded in real life, as you can see in the picture above, but I have a really easy trick for you!

As this is a photopolymer stamp set the stamps are quite flexible. I simply placed the negative of the circle I  had punched out over an acrylic block and shaped the set to fit around the curve at the top! It stays in place for a while – plenty of time to stamp the sentiment a couple of times!

Memories in the Making & Number of Years from Stampin’ Up!

Memories in the Making & Number of Years from Stampin’ Up! – CASE the Designer for #GDP028

It’s CASE the designer week over at the Global Design Project Challenge this week. This time it’s the turn of the super talented Jess Williams from Australia, who is also a member of the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design team.

GDP028 Jess Williams CASE

For my card, I decided to case the general design of the layout and the ribbon. I kept the wreath shape but used the concentric circles from the Memories in the Making Project Life set to achieve it.

I used the Basic Black diagonal stripe DSP from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper stack – it’s a firm favourite! I teamed up the Memories in the making stamp set with Number of Years for the sentiment and banner. I also added a couple of left over flowers I had from another project, which are from the Botanical Builder Framelits. So all in all quite a product intense card from me today. Oh not to forget, I softened up the look of the stamping with a layer of vellum over the whisper white card front and stuck the sentiment banner and flowers over the top.

Well I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s projects.  Don’t forget the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration promotion finishes at the end of March.

Number of Years from Stampin’ Up!

Number of Years from Stampin’ Up! teamed up with Large Numbers Framelits Dies for Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 222

I went to team training yesterday – it was great fun! When Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators get together we usually make card fronts or other items to swap with each other. It’s a way of inspiring each other and generating ideas and usually we just pick our own theme to go with. This time my team leader Michelle wanted to try something a bit different and so we were given a list of particular stamp sets and chose one to make for the others who also chose that set. As there were such a large number of us going some sets had to spill over to two groups and so I offered to take a spot on one of those spill over groups which was Number of Years from Stampin’ Up!

FMS Final 222-001

As usual I left making my swaps until the night before and so I used this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 222 for the layout and I had been wanting to try out a technique I had seen on Pinterest, on this card, for the numbers.

And as always with my crafting which is dual purpose, the bright colour scheme and numbers chose are for my  son’s 5th birthday, which isn’t until May but hey at least I’m now prepared! Lol!

I water coloured a panel of Water colour paper and dried it with my heat gun. Then I cut the numbers 1 and 4 from a panel of whisper white that was the same size as the water colour paper and stuck it over the top. I then stamped, cut and added the numbers 2, 3 and 5.

So what do you think? I love the Number of Years from Stampin’ Up! and the matching Large Numbers Framelits don’t you?

New Year’s Resolutions

New Year’s Resolutions with Stampin’ Up! Number of Years and Flowering Fields Sale-a-Bration free gift.

With Christmas over and the New Year fast approaching, I’m thinking about New Year’s Resolutions. I usually don’t make any, as I never stick to them, but I think it’s about time I made a few and really stick to them next year.

I’ve prettied up a plain Kraft Midori Journal, which I’m going to use to write down the resolutions in and any other random ideas for my business, card designs etc I get along the way.

New Year's Resolutions featuring Stampin' Up! Number of Years and Flowering Fields Tracy May

I first saw these two brand new sets, Number of Years and Flowering Fields, at OnStage Live in Brussels in November, and knew instantly they were both on my wish list. Number of Years is a fantastic set, with numbers and sentiments, and it has coordinating framelits too!

I saw a card featuring Flowering Fields coloured this way, at OnStage designed by Stampin’ Up! artists, and decided to CASE it for my journal cover. Flowering Fields is one of the free Sale-a-bration gifts you can choose from. I will be posting more details on SAB as we call it next Tuesday (5th January) when the new catalogue launches and the Sale-a-bration promotion starts!

In the meantime, if you would like any of the other products used and are happy to shop with me, simply click on the table below and you will be taken to my online shop, don’t forget to enter the code shown below and on the side bar for your free gift. Thanks for your support!

Let me know if you aren’t on my catalogue mailing list but would like to be (UK, NL, DE, FR, AT only I’m afraid).
