Paisley & Posies by Stampin’ Up!

Paisley & Posies by Stampin’ Up!

It’s a Colour challenge week over at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are saying good bye to two colours I actually really like – Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron. However, having seen the new In-Colours, I’m sure I will be over it soon! I am so fickle when it comes to saying goodbye to old favourites! Whilst initially I think I will miss them, there’s always something new and exciting which takes their place swiftly in my crafting affections!

Anyway on to my project for this challenge! I decided to roll out Paisley & Posies by Stampin’ Up! And I’m ok with the result – not exactly ecstatic about it – but overall ok!

Starting with a base of Night of Navy, I decided stamped a few of the smaller images from Paisley & Posies by Stampin’ Up! in Watermelon Wonder. Following that I took a scrap of Mint Macaron card and stamped over it with various Paisley and Posies in Mint Macaron ink, before cutting out a circle with the Stitched Shapes dies.

Tje main Paisley is stamped in both Night of Navy and Watermelon Wonder. I did cut it out using the matching die but then decided to trim it by hand so I could mount it on a Watermelon Wonder paisley.

So what do you think? I hope you like it. Please do pop by and see what the other talented ladies have created for you this week!

Dream Theme Blog Hop #2

Welcome to the second Dream Theme Blog Hop. It’s a monthly blog hop featuring some amazing Stampin’ Up!® Independent Demonstrators from around the world. This month we are sharing amazing, inspirational small gift packaging ideas. Currently you’re visiting me, Tracy May from London, UK. To continue along the blog hop, please use the links below.

I love paisley. Always have. I remember a black skirt I got when I was around 17. It had a beautiful purple paisley print all over. I wore that skirt till it practically fell apart! So when I saw Paisleys & Posies in the 2016 Autumn/Winter Catalogue I knew I had to have it! It’s what I used for my Online order club gifts in October and I knew it was perfect for the theme of today’s blog hop!

I used the Kraft Tag a Bag gift bags which are the perfect size for the Stampin’ Up! Rhinestones (and Pearls) packets. I stamped Paisleys & Posies in Versamark over the front of the gift bags and then heat set it. I added a strip of Cherry Cobbler and Copper card stock underneath and finished off with a Cherry Cobbler tag. The Kraft Rope trim was stapled to the front of the bag. Sadly the hand held stapler is being retired due to issues with supply.

Paisleys & Posies by Stampin’ Up! #CCMC426

Oh to think I wasn’t originally going to buy Paisleys & Posies by Stampin’ Up! I resisted at first, but then I kept seeing so many great projects using the coordinating stamps and Paisley Framelits Dies I ended up putting in a sneak order!

I featured this bundle in my monthly card class, which I’ve now moved to the last Wednesday of the month! After seeing the fantastic One Sheet wonder my team lead Michelle Last created in the summer, I thought this would make a great theme for the class. I was right, it went down a treat!

I started off by randomly stamping the Paisleys and Posies in the three colours from this week’s challenge, onto a sheet of A4 Whisper White. Then I cut the sheet into various shapes and sizes to make 6 cards, with enough left over for a tag as well!

My favourite card happened to be the one I’ve shared for this week’s challenge. I love the Smoky Slate card base, topped with the Dapper Denim layer, topped off by the strip of Tangerine Tango over the top! So, I hope you like it too!
