Washi tape butterfly card using Stampin’ Up! products

A super quick post from me today. Stampin’ Up!® posted a card on the demonstrator website ages ago that had used this paper piercing technique and I had been itching to give it a go but never got round to it. Well now I have! Hope you like it!

I used the Starburst framelits and Elegant Butterfly punch for the focal point of the card. Retro fresh washi tape adorns the background, which was pierced using the Essentials piercing pack.

I’m in the middle of a big declutter as we are starting an extension in two weeks time. I am very excited. I am secretly calling it Operation Craft Room as I will end up with a craft room at the end of it, although the reality is it is much more about family space. The only down side is I have very little energy left in the evenings for crafting at the moment but I will crack on and get some new projects created to share with you all.

Hope you have a good day x

Hand Stitched Fresh Prints – using Stampin’ Up! ® products

I often make projects in between doing other things, running around after the boys, housework, dinner, life in general. I don’t know if I would call it multi-tasking as that makes me sound far too organised lol!

Well last week, I was in the middle of making a thank you card using the Fresh Prints DSP and the Blossom and Pansy Punches. I had paper pierced around the Crumb Cake layer and stuck a mat of Fresh Prints Coastal Cabana spotty design DSP onto it. That was as far as I had got. After I had put the boys in bed one night, I decided to have a “quick” browse on Pinterest. One of the first cards I saw was remarkably similar to the one I was making, except it had stitching around the edges!

I likey was my immediate thought. No sewing machine was my second thought. Another row of paper-piercing was my third thought and after about an hour of hand stitching using the paper-pierced holes my card was completed.

I liked it so much I decided to make another one using the Crumb Cake spotty print on a Coastal Cabana layer. Again the hand stitching took about an hour.
Even though I did find it quite relaxing sitting there thinking of nothing else, I do feel the purchase of a little sewing machine coming on. I love this look and have some other projects in mind too. So if anyone has any recommendations of small sewing machines that would be ideal for paper crafts then please leave me a comment below or email me direct on tracyj.may71@gmail.com.
I suppose I could have done faux stitching with a gel pen or chalk maker but that would have been too easy of course! Lol.

Love the Glitter Paper – using Stampin’ Up! ® products

I have been bogged down in business admin the last few days and as a result had lost my mojo. To take a break (hmmm break or procrastination?), I had a “quick” look on Stampin Connection, which is a bit like Pinterest and Facebook rolled into one for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators world wide. A card by Julia Pitta in the US caught my eye (you can see Julia’s card here) and inspired me to get my craft supplies out and have a play.

This is the result. It’s very different to Julia’s card. I think it was the chevron’s pointing towards the heart on her card that made me think of the arrow going through the heart.

Anyway, I had fun making this card. It probably felt more fun as I was supposed to be doing admin! Well that’s still waiting for me to plough through this evening once the bedlam brothers are in bed!
For this project you will need:

Ink: Real Red
