The Colour Purple – Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up!

The Colour Purple – Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up!

I’m sneaking in with a late post again today! I just don’t know where the day went. It seemed I had a never ending list of things to do and just didn’t manage to get to the part that said Blog Post! Anyway I’ve made it and I’m sharing my entry into the Less is More Colour Challenge which is the colour purple and I’m using Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up!

Remarkable You from Stampin' Up! Tracy May LIM #279 Colour - Purple_00001

I used Elegant Eggplant, which is a deep purple,  for all the stamping including the sentiment but it looks almost black in the photograph as does the strip of Elegant Eggplant down the left hand side!

I spritzed the inked stamp with water before stamping onto watercolour paper. I then “water coloured” the flower with my clear Wink of Stella pen. Once the flower was dry I picked up some watered down Elegant Eggplant ink and created the spatters. You can see the wink of stella splatters that were created once all the ink had come off the brush tip!

Once all the splatters were dry, I stamped the sentiment from Thankful Thoughts and mounted the card onto a strip of Elegant Eggplant and then onto a Whisper White card base. I decided not to go for the usual border or card stock all the way round, but opted for a wider strip just on one side. I quite like the effect. What you think?

Do pop over to the Less is More challenge and take a look. I have been blown away by some of the amazing creations submitted. I’ve popped by and commented on a few! I just wish I had to time to visit everyone!!!

Remarkable You for Connie & Mary Sketch Challenge

Remarkable You for Connie & Mary Sketch Challenge #CCMC407

It’s Thursday which means it’s time for Create with Connie & Mary! I really loved today’s challenge. As soon as I saw the sketch I knew I was going to incorporate the flower into the strips somehow!

CCMC407

The card I came up with was this one, which is my usual clean and simple style!

Remarkable You from Stampin' Up! Tracy May CCMC407 01

I think I still had the greys from last week’s colour challenge on my mind, so I went with a Basic Grey card base to create a stark contrast with the simplicity of the front panel.

The card was quick to come together:

  1. I coloured the stamp from Remarkable You with marker pens, so I could have green for the stem and leaf and pink for the petals. I used a mix of Garden Green and Always Artichoke for the stem/leaf and Melon Mambo for the petals and stamped onto the whisper white card front;
  2. I recoloured the stamp and stamped onto a scrap of whisper white card stock;
  3. I cut the scrap of whisper white into strips and then lined them up over the top of the card front image but didn’t stick them down yet;
  4. I stamped the sentiment from the new Thoughtful Thanks stamp set – coming soon!
  5. Once I had the sentiment stamped, I sprayed the card front with Melon Mambo ink – you can do this with a brush with ink by tapping it over a finger onto the card front;
  6. I then stuck the card front to the card base;
  7. Finally I popped the 3 strips onto dimensionals and adhered them on top of the card and added some sequins from the metallics sequins selection;

And that was all there was to it! Simple!! And I love it – yay! 😊

Please do pop over and check out all the other fantastic projects that the design team have come up with this week. Even better – why not join us? Trust me it is great fun!

Thanks for stopping by x

Remarkable You! from Stampin’ Up!

Remarkable You! from Stampin’ Up! ®

Wow! What a fabulous OnStage event that was! I got back from Stampin’ Up!’ s OnStage Local event in Telford on Sunday. It was a rollercoaster ride of excitement from the snow on the ground we woke to on Saturday morning, to the whole day itself! I am shattered but in a totally nice way.

I got to spend Friday afternoon with my team lead and some of her other direct team. A bunch of lovely and talented ladies indeed. As usual I was totally useless and spent most of the time chatting and didn’t manage to take a single photo!

Then on Saturday we had snow! Amazing. I was helping out with some games during registration and then handing out the all attendee give away one of which was the brand new Stampin’ Up! catalogue which will be launched on June 1st globally! Woohoo!

Anyway I am back now and haven’t managed to get beyond unpacking etc, so I thought I would share a project I made a couple of weeks ago using Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up! – it’s one of my favourites and tomorrow I will be able to tell you if it’s staying or going! 😉

This one is my favourite. I embossed the flower first and then watercoloured it using watercolour paints, before stamping a sentiment.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s projects. They are very peaceful and relaxing to look at I think. The next few weeks are going to be a whirlwind with the retiring list coming out on Tuesday. My pre-order from OnStage will arrive and I will have some new goodies to play with as well as having last plays with whatever retiring sets I have!

So stay tuned! Fasten your seat belts it’s going to be fast and furious lol!

Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up!

Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up!

I managed another quick card using Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up! – well I say quick card but I took a discarded card front from the basket of unfinished projects to complete this card.

I had already water coloured the flower, but as the image hadn’t been stamped properly on the card front panel I had just stuck it in the basket. The image was really off centre, so I partially cut around the flower. I stamped the same flower image over a panel of Pool Party using Versamark ink and then added some splatters from Timeless Textures in Pool Party over the top of the flowers.

I popped the water coloured flower and leaves up onto Stampin’ Dimensionals and then popped the two panels onto a Whisper White card base. I finished off with a sentiment from Another Thank You over some Metallic thread and finished off with some silver sequins.

I think the sentiment doesn’t quite fit (ignoring the fact that it is also slightly wonky)! What do you think?

Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up! #GDP010

Global Design Project #GDP010 sketch challenge card using Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up!

With all the Christmas crafting that’s been going on lately, I’ve neglected my other non-seasonal stamp sets, so it was really nice to get one out yesterday to create my entry for the Global Design Project #GDP010 sketch challenge. I used Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up! – one of my favourites for colouring – except I’ve not coloured this card!

Stampin' Up! Remarkably You & Watercolour Wings Tracy May #GDP010

I used the Melon Mambo ribbon to create the “frame” from the GDP sketch and to add a splash of colour.  I didn’t think about lining up the flowers on the card base and the front panel, which perhaps would have looked better? What do you think?

I’m getting very excited, now, as this time Thursday I will be at OnStage Live – the annual Stampin’ Up! conference. Can’t wait. I’m frantically trying to prep some swaps – I didn’t manage any last year as we were in the middle of a building project. I’ll share my swaps with you later on, so make sure you pop back to see them.

Adult colouring using Stampin’ Up! Remarkable You

Adult colouring using Stampin’ Up! Remarkable You. Create a beautiful set of Thank You cards coloured with colour pencils – colouring in is not just for kids!

Good morning peeps, how’s you today? It’s a bit dull and dreary here but I have some lovely bright flowers to share with you this morning! I’m stupidly excited about these. You’ll have to fogive me, but my inner child was released with a vengeance when I saw this video by Lydia Fiedler on her Understand Blue blog! Serioiusly I did not know that you could colour on black paper or card stock with colour pencils! How did I not know that? I had some colour pencils, which I’d bought on a whim at Hobbycraft and I gave it a go – they worked fairly well but were too waxy for my liking and have been relegated to a practice set to use with my Adult Colouring books (when I get the time!).

So I ummhed and ahhhed for a day or two before diving in and buying a set of the pencils Lydia used in her video. (I also bought another set of a different brand, after watching a couple of reviews, and I love them both – luckily!).

Anyway here’s my cards. I started off with the Magnolia flower from the Remarkable You set, trying to achieve a realistic colour for the flower – hmmmm not sure I managed it too well.

and then blue ……

…..and I won’t bore you with the rest!

Told you I got slightly carried away didn’t I? Lol

Thanks for indulging me and I hope I’ve inspired your inner child. Get colouring peeps! Adult colouring is very relaxing and it’s cheaper than than therapy! Ha ha
