Rose Wonder from Stampin’ Up!

Rose Wonder from Stampin’ Up!

I’m back today with a card I made using a couple of the smaller stamps from Rose Wonder from Stampin’ Up! I don’t think I have actually seen any cards on Pinterest using this little flower stamp, as I think it’s probably been somewhat overlooked by the stunning rose, which is certainly the star of this stamp set.

I do, however, love this little flower stamp and the leaves. They are perfect for colouring in. I’m really into colouring in in a big way at the moment. It’s so relaxing! For this card I wanted to create a colouring book page style card front, so I randomly stamped the leaves over the card before stamping the flowers here and there. I sat colouring it in with alcohol markers, whilst watching Happy Valley on BBC1 last night.

I wasn’t following any particular technique – just playing around with colour combinations to see what I liked. I like the way it’s turned out, although I can’t say it’s coloured to any degree of sophistication lol!

Before I go, I have some good news for you regarding the 3 Sale-a-bration items that retired mid-February. There’s still a wee bit of stock left and so availability has been temporarily extended, which means you can still order them if you missed out the first time around.

Rose Garden Thank You Cards

Rose Garden Thank You Cards

Yesterday I talked about my favourite benefit of being a demonstrator is the wonderful people I have met along the way and one of the cards I am showing today, is a thank you card I made for a lovely lady who I have also only met thanks to Stampin’ Up!  I love making thank you cards. I have a wonderful group of customers who I make them for and I try to make them different each time!

The card is 6″ x 6″ so I made the envelope from the Whisper White Envelope paper and I stamped it with the co-ordinating rose from Rose Wonder. I don’t often get around to stamping my envelopes, but I know the friend who I sent this card to, likes to do so, and so I made the effort! 😊

I used Rich Razzleberry for the rose and the leaves are Old Olive. I simply cut out the full die cut in Rich Razzleberry and then just the leaves from the Old Olive. I only needed to trim them very slightly and then stuck them over the top of the Razzleberry leaves. It looks great!

I also made a standard A6 version using the smaller rose in Melon Mambo, with the leaves from the main larger rose. Also I cut the tags using Tags & Labels Thinlits before stamping a sentiment from Another Thank You (a brilliant set to have!).

The design was inspired by some gift packaging I saw on Pinterest, which used real flowers. I love how clean and simple the cards are but very elegant and beautiful – in my oh so humble opinion anyway lol! 😂

Rose Wonder from Stampin’ Up! – Thank You Card idea

Rose Wonder from Stampin’ Up! – Thank You Card idea

Wow all the build up and the preparation and it’s over in one day! We had a great Christmas with the boys and my sisters and Mum, and are now back home with a mountain of tidying and putting things away! I’ve done a sweep of the boys room to make room for all their new presents. We do try not to go overboard, but even so it seems like they have so much! Lucky boys – I will be designing them some thank you cards over the next few days to send to all the family and friends who bought them presents. In the meantime, here’s one of my own Thank You Cards I made using Rose Wonder from Stampin’ Up!

This was a very simple card to make and other than drying time it was very quick too. I simply stamped the largest rose from Rose Wonder in Basic Black onto watercolour paper and then watercoloured using an aqua painter and ink from the lids of my ink pads. I used colours from the subtle collection for this card.

I only used the one stamp set as there are a number of sentiments included. I flicked some green ink lightly over the watercolour paper and finished off with rhinestones for some sparkle. What do you think?

Rose Wonder from Stampin’ Up! will be available to order from January 5th, in the meantime, if you would like any of the other products used and are happy to shop with me, simply click on the table below and you will be taken to my online shop, don’t forget to enter the code shown below and on the side bar for your free gift.
