CAS (clean and simple) Butterfly card

Chaotic CAS (clean and simple) card created using Stampin’ Up! supplies.

I know chaotic and CAS (clean and simple) don’t usually appear in the same sentence but that’s what springs to mind when I look at this card. I made it for a friend’s birthday back at the end of November when I was in the midst of chaos with a building project to extend my home, yearning for peace and quiet and a clean house (not possible when you’ve got the builders in).

I haven’t posted a Butterfly card for a while so when I came across this in my pictures earlier I thought I would share it today, hence the .

I used a mixture of stamps (Gorgeous Grunge, Kinda Eclectic and Says It All), threw in some DSP (Confetti Celebration) and some Linen thread as well. Despite the one little area of the card being kind of chaotic it still has lots of white space and makes for a CAS card – clean and simple!

I made a star shaped box to match that housed one of the star shaped candles I’ve shown previoulsy in this post which includes a free tutorial for how to make the star shaped box.

Fresh Prints & Butterflies – using Stampin’ Up! ® products

Yay – it’s Friday. For some reason this week has felt like a long week, not that its really been any different to any other. The weather seems to be on the turn for the better with lighter evenings and the tree across the road has its spring blossom. The daffodils are flowering in my back garden too, so its definitely feeling more like spring is around the corner!

Today’s card helps with that feeling too. It’s a case of this one I saw on Pinterest, but I changed mine to use the Fresh Prints DSP and had fewer butterflies. I’m really pleased with the results.

The trusty new sewing machine was put to good use again. I have some other ideas of cards I want to make with it. Shame I don’t have to room to have it set up, ready and waiting – one day maybe!
For today’s card I used the following products:

Cardstock: Coastal Cabana , Crumb Cake, Real Red, Whisper White
DSP: Fresh Prints
Stamp Set: Says it all (available in clear and wood)
Ink: Real Red, Coastal Cabana
