Christmas In July

Christmas in July for the Paper Players Challenge PP302

OMG! I can’t believe I’m using the “C” word! Yes Christmas – gasp, shock, horror! Until I joined Stampin’ Up! I never even used to think about Christmas until end of November at the earliest! Lol! Now it’s usually around August when the new Autumn/Winter catalogue comes out. Even then I don’t really get started until September really. BUT, I wanted to play along with the Paper Players again this week where the theme is Christmas in July!

pp302

I don’t have any Christmas stamps left since the last catalogue retired and my trusty White Winter stamp set retired and I have refused to buy anything Christmassy from the new catalogue so far. So I have had to improvise! Actually that’s not a bad thing! It just goes to show what you can come up with using your existing stash!

I started with a background panel of Soft Sky, embossed with my ever favourite, Softly Falling embossing folder. I then cut out a circle of Whisper White, using the new Layering Circles Framelits. I stamped the presents from the new Weather Together stamp set. I had been wondering why this set had presents in it, but hey I’m not complaining! Lol! I did a little bit of masking using sticky notes (first you stamp the image on the sticky note and then cut it out to mask off the stamped image on your card).

The sentiment is from the ever so useful Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set, which is currently the only one I  have with a Christmas Greeting in! I finished off the card with some Wink of Stella, Silver metallic thread and sequins!

So what do you think? I hope you like it! It was great fun to make. Don’t forget to pop over to the Paper Players to see what the design team and other peeps have come up with!

Happy New Year Card Softly Falling & Balloon Celebration from Stampin' Up! Tracy May

I’ve used Softly Falling & Balloon Celebration to create my New Year’s card. I love how simple the card looks but with a touch of bling for the celebration theme. Balloon Celebration will be available from January 5th – next Tuesday so not long to go now.

In the meantime, there’s still time to get hold of the retiring items from the Autumn/Winter catalogue and some of them are greatly reduced too. Check out the big year end sale!

White Christmas using Stampin’ Up! products

TGIF Challenges #TGIFC30 – White Christmas using Stampin’ Up! products  – gift voucher holder

I’m back today with a White Christmas using Stampin’ Up! products – I was inspired by the Softly Falling embossing folder to create a decorated envelope for my customer gift vouchers this Christmas. I was going to save it for my Tags, Bags and Boxes theme, that I’ll be posting next week, but I’m entering this into the TGIF White Christmas Challenge as it was too perfect a challenge theme to miss. Go and check out the stunning projects the design team have created for this challenge, seriously I love them all!

The Softly Falling embossing folder from Stampin’ Up! just screams White Christmas to me – don’t you think?

I made the envelope using the Neutrals Envelope Paper, Whisper White of course. I ran it through the Big Shot in the Softly Falling embossing folder with the side and bottom flaps outside the folder, so that only the front and the top flap (that you use to close the envelope) are embossed. I then made a simple tag using the ornate tag top punch and Festival of Trees. It’s so pretty!

I’m teaming the envelope up with the card I made last week and it will be how I package my customer gift vouchers this year! (So if you know someone in UK, Germany, France, Austria or Netherlands who would like a Stampin’ Up! voucher for Christmas let me know 😉).

For those of you who do follow my blog, I will be posting the video from Friday’s card at some point this week. Unfortunately I need to re-record it! Those technical gremlins beat me! But bear with me they will not win!! 🙂

Well I do hope you like today’s project.  Don’t forget that the Retiring List has been published fort the current Autumn/Winter Seasonal catalogue, which means if it is on the list then it is not being carried over to the new Spring/Summer catalogue and therefore won’t be available beyond January 4th 2016.

Softly Falling Christmas Bauble

Clean and Simple Christmas Card using Stampin’ Up!’s Softly Falling Embossing folder to create a glittery Christmas bauble.

Half way through half-term now and I’m surviving or maybe just Softly Falling lol (and yes my jokes do get worse ha ha ha)!! Mind you it did help that my husband took the boys out for the day yesterday, which allowed me to do all the prep work for my monthly class, which is on Thursday. I did try to be organised and get it done before half-term but as usual other things cropped up and got in the way 🙂

Well on to today’s project. It’s the second one I made with the Softly Falling embossing folder and the glue pen and glitter. What do you think?

I think I prefer this one over yesterday’s. What do you think?

Glitter Card using Softly Falling from Stampin’ Up!

Glitter Card using Softly Falling from Stampin’ Up! and Seasonal Frame Thinlits. Bling it up with a clean and simple Christmas card idea.

Yes I did sit and drop a splodge of glue in each and every depression on the reverse (debossed) side of this Christmas card I made using Softly Falling from Stampin’ Up!, before sprinkling over a tub of silver glitter and leaving it to dry!  Actually it didn’t really take that long to be honest, and it was really quite therapeutic just sitting still with the fine-tip glue pen working from top to bottom! I just love the effect – it’s “Blingtastic” (I’m sure that’s a word ha ha, but if it isn’t, it should be lol!)! What do you think?

Once the card front was dry I shook off all the glitter and tipped it back in the pot for another day. I added a strip of white jute ribbon, Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Silver ribbon and the “falala” sentiment, which was left over from another card. Oh and not forgetting even more bling with the strip of Silver Sequence trim – like I said “Blingtastic”!! 🙂

After all the comments I received about a card, that I posted on my Instagram and Facebook page using this technique, but on a much smaller scale, I wonder what everyone will say about this! Ha ha ha – love my job!! 🙂 and I’ll post that card for you another day!

Thanks for stopping by. I do hope you like my card. As always, if you would like any of the products used and are happy to shop with me, simply click on the table below and you will be taken to my online shop. Thanks for your support! 🙂
