Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin’ Up!

Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin’ Up!

I had the perfect opportunity this weekend to get out one of my all time favourite stamp sets, Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin’ Up! and it’s the star of the show this time, not just lurking in the background! I’m playing along with Less is More’s Week 280 challenge which is themed “Splatters”. As soon as I saw the theme, I knew it just had to be Gorgeous Grunge.

It was a lovely sunny day on Saturday when I was making this card and that influenced my choice of colours I think. I decided to create something similar to my blog header. I used the Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay but changed Smoky Slate to Daffodil Delight for a much brighter look!

The little butterflies are from Garden in Bloom and the sentiment and underlining dots are from Sunnburst Sayings, which I’ve not really used much. I will have to do something about that!

I heat embossed the sentiment in the dots using clear embossing powder, by first inking up my stamps with Versamark and then Memento Tuxedo Black. When you stamp the black ink goes on first and the Versamark ends up on top so the powder sticks to it! Clever hey!! šŸ™‚

Well I hope you like my bright and cheerful card! I do but then I’m biased aren’t I? Lol!

A Rainbow Sunburst Card from Stampin’ Up!

A Rainbow SunburstĀ CardĀ from Stampin’ Up! Ā® birthday card

I loved creating today’s rainbow card using Sunburst Sayings andĀ Sunburst thinlits from Stampin’ Up! I do find sitting messing around with paper and inks very therapeutic. There is also something very satisfying about it – when it all turns out how you envisaged in your mind of course! Lol!

(Trust me I have had a few equally frustrating moments when things haven’t turned out the way I wanted them to as well! ) 😂

I used a mask cut using the Sunburst thinlits and lo-tack tape to protect the adjacent rays to those I was working on. I just simply rubbed the ink over with a sponge, one colour at a time before repositioning the lo-tack tape and starting again with the next colour. I didn’t have to be too careful about it as I’d masked everything off. It was very messy mind you and I think I got as much ink on my fingers as on the card front lol!

I then cut another sunburst to go on the top, which is adhered using a tonne of Stampin’ Dimensionals! I finished off with a sentiment mounted on to two Delightful Daffodil circles cut using the circle punches and hey presto a very bright cheery card IMHO! 😉

I hope you like it!

Sunburst Sayings from Stampin’ Up!

Sunburst Sayings from Stampin’ Up!

Well after unintentionally creating a card yesterday, that was very similar to the super talented Teneale Williams, who is one of the Global Design Projects Design Team, I’ve been, in contrast, on an all out CASE (copy and share everything) offensive for today’s card. I used Sunburst Sayings from Stampin’ Up! Ā®.

I had been planning to use the Sunburst ThinlitsĀ and Sunburst Sayings from Stampin’ Up! for todays postĀ and had intended to make a completely different card to the one I ended up making. Instead I decided to CASE the water colour card from the Spring/Summer 2016 catalogue shown below top left.

I borrowed the colour scheme from Global Design Project’s challenge this week, which is Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate and Basic Grey, although I’m not going to enter this card, as I only entered one yesterday!

I also borrowed the jaunty angles from Teneale’s card. Like I said I’ve been on a CASE offensive Lol!Ā I hope you like today’s card.
