Totally Trees by Stampin’ Up! Again!

Totally Trees by Stampin’ Up! Again!

I very nearly didn’t post this card. It’s another one using Totally Trees by Stampin’ Up! Again!  I thought I had already posted it, as it was one of the cards I made when I first got Totally Trees and had a creative frenzy with these cards and this card. Also, I’m sure there were more. Or maybe I’m just imagining it? Lol

Taking inspiration from this art journal pin I had found on Pinterest, I got out practically all of the Stampin’ Up! Blues. I think I ended up using Soft Sky, Pool Party, Marina Mist, Dapper Denim and Night of Navy.

I stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments onto a sliver of Night of Navy cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Did you spot the sliver of silver glimmer paper? I seem to have been adding these strips onto a lot of cards recently. Must be a phase I am going through! Lol!

The card base is Dapper Denim with a layer of Marina Mist under the Whisper White card front. What do you think? One day I will be brave enough to create my art journal. In the meantime, I will no doubt keep pinning the ones I find on Pinterest!

Don’t you think Pinterest has a lot to answer for? I do! There are more pins on my boards than I can ever hope to CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or to use for inspiration, but no doubt I will keep adding more when I have a few minutes down time. Usually it’s the last thing I do before I turn the lights out to go to sleep. Often my eyelids are drooping and I’m still pinning away! Do you do that? I doubt I’m the only one! 😉

I seriously don’t know where this week has gone! I thought once the boys were back at school I would be straight back into a routine, but it’s not working out that way! It feels like I’m just chasing my tail! Lol! I did manage to make my card using Totally Trees for Create with Connie & Mary in plenty of time though.

I did think I would have problems with this challenge due to Delightful Dijon. I don’t find it terribly delightful to be honest! But, as soon as I sat down to make the card, an idea popped into my head and I went with it.

I started by stamping the trees from the totally awesome Totally Trees stamp set in Emerald Envy. Then I topped them with a star (also from the set) stamped in Delightful Dijon. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments, which I totally recommend if you don’t already have it!

I used Delightful Dijon again for the sentiment. Above the sentiment I added a strip of Soft Suede card stock and some Gold Glimmer paper for a bit of bling. Then I layered the card front onto a piece of Soft Suede stripy DSP from the Neutrals DSP stack.

I’m really pleased with the way the card turned out! What do you think?

I wasn’t feeling remotely festive when I made these cards but I do think this design could also be used for some trendy, non-traditional Christmas cards don’t you?
