Simply Stars and Babies – using Stampin’ Up! ® products

I had seen this scrapbook layout by Jenni Pauli months ago and had it pinned on my Scrapbook page ideas Pinterest board waiting for the opportunity to do some scrapbooking of the Bedlam Brothers’ baby pictures. I never seem to find the time though – which seems to be an age old problem for everyone these days!

Then, back in October one of my friends had a baby boy and bingo that layout popped into my mind. I have been making various pictures for friends little girls and boys using the Ikea Ribba box frames for their birthdays so it wasn’t just a random thought, although I do have a lot of random thoughts!! (lol). Anyways, I thought one of those with all the baby’s details would be an ideal gift.

Instead of using circle punches though I cut out the stars that I had stamped from the Simply Stars set – by hand!! Actually it didn’t take that long really.

First I stamped Gorgeous Grunge and Simply Stars over Whisper White background sheet and then I mounted the baby picture onto Whisper White and Crumb cake card stock and shaped the file tabs using the envelope punch board. The baby’s details are printed in Island Indigo beside the baby picture but I have masked them out of my photo.

My friend loved it so much, she asked me to make her one for her older son too!

I forgot to take photos with my camera but hopefully you can see the detail from the phone pictures above.

For these pictures you will need:

Card Stock: 9 x 9″ Soft Sky, 8 x 8″ Whisper White for the background. Whisper White, Crumb cake for the file tab panels.

Stamp sets: Gorgeous Grunge, Simply Stars

Ink Pads: Soft Sky, Crumb Cake

A Venetian Romance – using Stampin’ Up! ® products

Continuing with the Romance theme (ok, ok, tenuous link I know), today’s project is a birthday card I made for my Mum. I have been trying to overcome my aversion to cutting into sheets of DSP. I  just love, love, love, LOVE DSP and find it really hard to cut the sheets up to use, daft I know but there you go!  I now have a stack of papers sitting unused, but at least not unloved!

I used Very Vanilla as the base to co-ordinate with the colour scheme of Venetian Romance. I popped a panel, that I paper-pierced round the edges, up on Stampin’ dimensionals to give the card a bit of ….well dimension – sorry struggling to think of a better word. I haven’t even had my first cup of coffee yet this morning!

The design on my Mum’s card was my favourite from the pack, even though it was for my mum I was still so reluctant to cut the beautiful sheet up – sorry Mum J. I steeled myself though and then carried on with making a batch of customer thank you cards too. I’m continuing my DSP cutting aversion therapy as and when I can so watch out for more projects using DSP!

I hope you like them.

For these cards you will need:

Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Whisper White note lets, Whisper White, Soft Suede, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Tangerine Tango.

DSP: Venetian Romance
Ink: Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango, Crisp Cantaloupe
Stamp Sets: Sassy Salutations, Four You
Punches: Bitty Butterfly, Elegant Butterfly, Decorative Label
Embellishments: Rhinestones, Candy Dots

Love the Glitter Paper – using Stampin’ Up! ® products

I have been bogged down in business admin the last few days and as a result had lost my mojo. To take a break (hmmm break or procrastination?), I had a “quick” look on Stampin Connection, which is a bit like Pinterest and Facebook rolled into one for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators world wide. A card by Julia Pitta in the US caught my eye (you can see Julia’s card here) and inspired me to get my craft supplies out and have a play.

This is the result. It’s very different to Julia’s card. I think it was the chevron’s pointing towards the heart on her card that made me think of the arrow going through the heart.

Anyway, I had fun making this card. It probably felt more fun as I was supposed to be doing admin! Well that’s still waiting for me to plough through this evening once the bedlam brothers are in bed!
For this project you will need:
Card Stock: Silver and Red Glimmer paper, Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock
    Stamp Set: Gorgeous Grunge
    Ink: Real Red
Punches: Full heart and Chevron punch,
Dies: Expressions Thinlits (available in the Autumn/Winter Catalogue until February 1st)
Tools: Paper-Piercing, Stampin’ Pierce Mat and Essentials Paper Piercing Pack

Spring is in the air! – using Stampin’ Up! ® products

Well not really, but hopefully the pictures below will help to brighten up the outlook. It’s been very wet and windy where I am for the last few weeks, it seems, but making a butterfly and flower mobile for a friend’s little girl, for her birthday, has made me feel a bit more like spring is not that far away.

I am really pleased with how this mobile turned out! It’s only the second one I have made. They are really quite simple to make but look stunning in my humble opinion / even if I do say so myself! J

      What do you think?

I never did manage to get that Photography 101 with my sister over Christmas! I really must dig out my camera manual and try to take better pictures!

For this project you will need:

DSP : Subtles Collection Blushing Bride, Pear Pizazz, Neutrals Collection – Early Espresso
Card stock: Blushing Bride, Pear Pizazz, Early Espressso

An MDS Christmas Greeting – using Stampin’ Up! ® products

Well I couldn’t resist one last Christmas project. My two little boys “helped” me with this card in MDS!

I just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Thank you to all my lovely customers and class ladies for your support throughout the year. I appreciate you all. Merry Christmas xx

Mojo Monday and a Sneak peek – using Stampin’ Up! ® products

Ok so I don’t have any more Christmas themed projects for you today. I figured you’d already be done with Christmas crafting for this year for the most part. Also, I’ve been itching to use a new stamp set, that we were given at Stampin’ Up!’s European Convention in Manchester (21st-23rd November 2013).

When I saw this week’s Mojo Monday sketch, I instantly thought of this stamp set. It’s called the Language of Love and is from the new Spring/Summer Catalogue, which will be available in the UK, Netherlands, Austria, Germany and France from January 28th, 2014.

I stamped the Heart stamp (which is made up of the word love in different languages) in Soft Sky over the Shimmery White card to make my own background paper. Then stamped the single heart and the row of smaller hearts in VersaMark and heat embossed with White embossing powder.

For this card you will need:

        Stamp Set: Language of Love (available Jan 28th in Europe);
Card Stock: Basic Gray (121689), Real Read 106578), Shimmery White (121717)
Ink pads: Soft Sky (131181), VersaMark (102283)
Accessories: White embossing power (109132), Full Heart Punch (119883)

I would like to thank you all for visiting my blog over the past few months and wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Thanks for stopping by.

A Medley of Christmas Cards – using Stampin’ Up! ® products

Well I finally managed to finish all my Christmas cards, including 42 for classmates and friends for Regan and 12 for Lewis’ playgroup.

Next year, remind me to pick one or two designs and stick to that. I was busy with workshops, classes and convention over October and November and didn’t really plan my own Christmas card making too well. When I finally started to make my own I ended up using up bits and pieces of what was there thinking it would save time – hmmmm not sure it did really.

Here’s a few of the designs I made:

I cut the word Merry from Silver Glimmer Paper using the Expressions Thinlits. (Top tip: use a layer of wax paper between the thinlit and card stock and the word will pop out really easily).

I used the Essentials paper-piercing pack to pierce the “strings” for the baubles.

I used the Essentials paper-piercing pack to pierce the border around the outside of the top layer on this card and the card at the top.

I used the sentiment from the Special Season Stamp set to stamp the greeting down the left side of this card. This card follows a design I made in August (except I didn’t do the paper piercing on this one as I made about 40 of them)

I used the Stampin’ Write markers on the gifts stack stamp from Wishing You, so each gift would be a different colour.

For these cards I have used the following products:

Card stock: Textured 12″ x 12″- Island Indigo (132132), Smoky Slate (132131), Cherry Cobbler (132129), Whisper White (106549), Silver Glimmer (124005)
        DSP: Winter Frost (132341)
Ink pads: Island Indigo (126986), Smoky Slate (131179), Coastal Cabana (131175), Cherry Cobbler (126966), Old Olive (126593)
Stampin’ Write Markers: Smoky Slate (131898), Coastal Cabana (131260 set of 5 In-colours 2013/15), Island Indigo (131262 Regals Collection)
        Stamp Sets: Delightful Dozen, Special Season (W 131766, C 131769), Wishing You (W 131748, C 131751), Very Merry Tags (W 130393, C 130402)
        Punches: Mosaic (131267), Hexagon (130919)
Tools: Expressions Thinlits Dies 132171, Paper piercer (126189), Stampin’ Pierce Mat (126199). Paper-Piercing Pack Essentials (126187)

Well so far I have managed to write and get about half my cards in the post. Number one task now is to complete the other half!

Today is the last day for orders if you want them before Christmas.

Top Note Gift Card Holder & Clearance Rack Blitz – using Stampin’ Up! ® products

It was my sister’s birthday recently and I wanted to get her a gift card so she could choose something she really liked. Originally I was just going to make one using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool but then I stumbled across this Gift Card holder using the top note die on Pinterest.

I love Pinterest and could spend hours getting lost browsing all the fantastically creative things that get pinned….errrr hang on a minute, I usually do! Usually late at night when I should be sleeping!

Anyway back to my gift card holder. My sister is a photographer, so I used the camera patterned paper from the I Am Me DSP pack and the camera image from Around the World stamp set.

I made her a matching card using the Circles Thinlits.

My last card class of the year was the same day as my sister’s birthday and I couldn’t help “killing two birds with one stone” as is my usual way with crafting. We made a Christmas version of the gift card holder using the Island Indigo textured card stock (shown below) with Winter Frost DSP inside (not shown). I must say I do love the Island Indigo and Smoky Slate textured card stock a lot. I don’t think they’ll be available beyond the end of January though unfortunately.

For the Gift Card Holders you will need:
        Card Stock: Whisper White 106549, Island Indigo textured 12 x 12, 132132
DSP: I am Me 130138, Winter Frost (inside) 132341
Ink pads: Pool Party 126982, Real Red 126949, Island Indigo 126986, Smoky Slate 131179
        Stamp Sets: Delightful Dozen (sentiments) W 128547, C 122652, Very Merry Tags, Around the World W 131080, C 131083
Accessories: Top Note Bigz Die 113463, Mosaic punch 131267
For the Birthday Card you will need:
Card Stock: Whisper White 106549, Daffodil Delight 121680
        DSP: I am Me 130138,
Ink pads: Pool Party 126982, Stazon Black 101406,
Accessories: Circles Thinlits 133480, Chevron Punch 132154

Whole Lot of Love & Convention Card Candy using Stampin’ Up! ® products

I know, I know……. it’s not even Christmas yet and we’re already thinking of Valentine’s day. Well in my house you need to start dropping hints early – they always fall on deaf ears though!

There are some lovely new products from Stampin’ Up! to help you get prepared early. They are only available until the end of January 2014 or whilst stocks last.

Well to continue with the convention theme, I’m going to show you all the card candy that myself and some of my fellow Pinkies swapped at convention.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Card Candy – it is simply elements/card toppers that can be attached when making cards.
