Paisleys & Posies by Stampin’ Up!

Paisleys & Posies by Stampin’ Up! #CCMC426

Oh to think I wasn’t originally going to buy Paisleys & Posies by Stampin’ Up! I resisted at first, but then I kept seeing so many great projects using the coordinating stamps and Paisley Framelits Dies I ended up putting in a sneak order!

Paisleys & Posies by Stampin' Up! Tracy May CCMC426

I featured this bundle in my monthly card class, which I’ve now moved to the last Wednesday of the month! After seeing the fantastic One Sheet wonder my team lead Michelle Last created in the summer, I thought this would make a great theme for the class. I was right, it went down a treat!

I started off by randomly stamping the Paisleys and Posies in the three colours from this week’s challenge, onto a sheet of A4 Whisper White. Then I cut the sheet into various shapes and sizes to make 6 cards, with enough left over for a tag as well!

My favourite card happened to be the one I’ve shared for this week’s challenge. I love the Smoky Slate card base, topped with the Dapper Denim layer, topped off by the strip of Tangerine Tango over the top! So, I hope you like it too!

In this World by Stampin’ Up!

In this World by Stampin’ Up!

It took me an age to finish this card! I know! It looks so simple doesn’t it? It’s another of my tentative attempts at mixed media.

In this World by Stampin' Up! Tracy May

I created the card front by covering panel of Whisper White with Gesso so I could watercolour on top of it.  I then stamped the door from In this World by Stampin’ Up! in Basic Black Archival ink. Then I partially  painted over it with some more gesso and stamped the butterfly from the same set. I added the flower from Touches of Texture, added some colour using Night of Navy and Melon Mambo ink refills and an aqua painter. After that I totally lost confidence and didn’t know how to finish it.

It was only when my friend came round the other week for coffee and I started bouncing some ideas off her, that it came together. So what do you think? Does it fit the Mixed Media bill? Does mixed media scare you as much as it does me? LoL!

I’m actually really pleased with how it turned out in the end. Thanks Jackie!

I will keep experimenting with Mixed Media. I’m thinking of doing an art journal! Talk about running before I can walk! Lol!

Birds & Blooms by Stampin’ Up!

Birds & Blooms by Stampin’ Up!

I have a really weird “Déjà vu” about this card! I’ve been wanting to use one of the smaller bird framelits from Birds & Blooms by Stampin’ Up! as I think it is soooo cute! And so as  I was playing around making something else, I just grabbed the thinlits. And I cut out the cutie bird from Melon Mambo card stock that I had handy!

Birds & Blooms by Stampin' Up! Tracy May

I also had the card front lurking around in my basket of unfinished projects. Yes I had gotten as far as putting on the washi tape and sliver of Silver glimmer paper before I ran out of steam. Anyway, I love the combination of Night of Navy and Melon Mambo already on the card, so I simply stuck on 3 of the birds I had cut out and slapped it onto a Night of Navy Card base. I love the little bird on the left facing the other way. It’s a really simple, but cute card. And I just can’t shake the feeling I’ve seen it somewhere before, hence the “Déjà vu” feeling. I searched Pinterest but I couldn’t find one similar so maybe it’s just my imagination. If not please do let me know, won’t you?

Thanks x

I have been playing with the super cute Merry Mice stamp set! I think this is my favourite set from the whole catalogue!

Merry Mice by Stampin' Up! Tracy May

I decided to use this set for my customer gifts from my August monthly online code club!

The box is made using the envelope punch board and crumb cake card stock. The belly band is Candy Cane Lane DSP. And the super cute mouse is stamped, coloured with blender pens and ink and hand cut! I couldn’t resist curling his tail up and over the sentiment!

Aren’t they cute? Everyone should have received theirs by now! I’ve heard back from a few who loved them (and the gift inside of course!).

Jolly Friends & Candy Cane Lane by Stampin’ Up!

Jolly Friends & Candy Cane Lane by Stampin’ Up!

Hi there! I’m back today with another sketch challenge for this week’s Create with Connie & Mary. I don’t want to jinx it, but I was on a roll when I made this card and it came together really quickly. Maybe it’s because I print out all the challenges on one page and then pin them to my pin board. The pin board is on the wall above my desk, so I’m constantly looking at the month’s challenges! I decided to use Jolly Friends & Candy Cane Lane by Stampin’ Up! for this week’s challenge.

ccmc425

I got both quite a few weeks ago, but hadn’t had the opportunity to get them out until this weekend. I love the clean look of this sketch and decided to stick with my usual Whisper White card base.

Jolly Friends & Candy Cane Lane by Stampin' Up! Tracy May CCMC425

I used the new Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP) for the two layers in the sketch. I then stamped the moose in Crumb Cake onto Whisper White and cut him out by hand. His lovely hat is stamped in Real Red and then punched out using the co-ordinating Jolly Hat Builder punch! This is one of the things I love most about Stampin’ Up! There are so many lovely punches or dies that co-ordinate with the stamp sets!

I finished my card off with a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments also stamped in Real Red, with a sliver of gold glimmer paper behind it. I also used some Real Red enamel dots from the Brights Enamel Shapes collection.

Well I do hope you like my project. Please do pop along and see what the rest of the design team have come up with!

Thanks for stopping by!

In This World & Touches of Texture by Stampin’ Up!

In This World & Touches of Texture by Stampin’ Up!

Ok so I’ve another card for you today that I dug out of my unfinished projects basket last week. I had been stuck on what to do with this one after I had stamped the door and the flower. But then a friend came over for coffee and I was able to bounce some ideas off her and finish up this one and another one too – both using In This World & Touches of Texture by Stampin’ Up!

In This World & Touches of Texture by Stampin' Up! Tracy May

Luckily my friend is very understanding! Well she is a crafter too and she loves buying new products as much as I do! We are quite bad for each other’s wallets really!  LoL!

I’m really pleased with the way the card has turned out! There’s still a fair few items knocking around in my unfinished items basket. I need to get a bit more organised and have a session finishing them all off. It’s really actually very therapeutic and you feel like you’ve achieved something!

Watercolour Wings by Stampin’ Up!

Watercolour Wings by Stampin’ Up!

I have been having fun digging around in my basket of unfinished projects again! I had to empty it out, as it was getting a tad full. One of the unfinished items was the background on the card below. I had stamped out the grey butterflies using the wing details image from Watercolor Wings by Stampin’ Up!. And I had stuck on the strip of washi tape but that was all! I was stuck on it for a good while and then totally forgot about it to be honest!

Watercolor Wings by Stampin' Up! Tracy May

I came across it whilst I was sorting out the basket of unfinished projects and I was actually about to throw it away, when I had a flash of inspiration! So instead, I grabbed my Melon Mambo ink pad and Watercolor Wings by Stampin’ Up! again and finished the card off! I stamped out the body of the smaller butterfly and then I added some bling with the butterfly cut out using Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies and Silver metallic thread. Then I spattered some Melon Mambo around with an aqua painter to lessen the whiteness. I really like it now. It’s a cute design. I don’t think I’ve noticed the wings being used as a butterfly background before, but I could be wrong! (I usually am lol!)

What do you think? I hope you like it!

Totally Trees for Create with Connie & Mary

Totally Trees for Create with Connie & Mary

ccmc424

I seriously don’t know where this week has gone! I thought once the boys were back at school I would be straight back into a routine, but it’s not working out that way! It feels like I’m just chasing my tail! Lol! I did manage to make my card using Totally Trees for Create with Connie & Mary in plenty of time though.

Totally Trees for Create with Connie & Mary Tracy May Stampin' Up!

I did think I would have problems with this challenge due to Delightful Dijon. I don’t find it terribly delightful to be honest! But, as soon as I sat down to make the card, an idea popped into my head and I went with it.

I started by stamping the trees from the totally awesome Totally Trees stamp set in Emerald Envy. Then I topped them with a star (also from the set) stamped in Delightful Dijon. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments, which I totally recommend if you don’t already have it!

totally-trees-by-stampin-up-tracy-may-ccmc424-00001

I used Delightful Dijon again for the sentiment. Above the sentiment I added a strip of Soft Suede card stock and some Gold Glimmer paper for a bit of bling. Then I layered the card front onto a piece of Soft Suede stripy DSP from the Neutrals DSP stack.

I’m really pleased with the way the card turned out! What do you think?

Weather Together by Stampin’ Up!

Weather Together by Stampin’ Up! for Strawberry Sketches #SS009

strawberry-setches-ss009

I’m joining the lovely Sarah Berry’s Strawberry Sketches challenge again this week. I managed to get back into the craft room in between lots of organising things over the weekend. It took me a while to get back into the swing of things so today’s card is actually my second attempt at Sarah’s sketch. I’m using Weather Together by Stampin’ Up!

Weather Together by Stampin' Up! Tracy May #SS009

This is such a lovely stamp set with co-ordinating dies to cut out all the umbrellas and handles. There are even dies to cut out little raindrops! How cute is that?

d72e6575be79d8d19febd8be65cd6c71

I decided to add a bit of interest to the panel underneath by embossing it with the Softly Falling embossing folder. With a bit of imagination it could be rain couldn’t it? Lol! I cut out the clouds and stuck them down underneath the vellum banner before stitching it to the Soft Sky background panel.

Weather Together by Stampin' Up! Tracy May #SS009

I finished off the card with a strip of Real Red DSP from the Brights DSP Stack and a few rhinestones!

What do you think? I think the touches of Real Red really pop out.

Before I go, I want to let you know that the following special offers are still available. We are in week 2 which runs until 14th September (2016):
