Bring Me Sunshine using products from Stampin’ Up!

Bring Me Sunshine using products from Stampin’ Up!¬†

I’m joining in last minute with CASology Week 201, where the theme is SUNSHINE. I thought it was about time I got more organised and played along with them again as it’s been a while and I have missed taking part. I’m using products from Stampin’ Up! of course for my sunshine card. The stamp set I used for the stamped part of the sentiment is aptly named Sunshine Sayings and the thinlits I used for the flower and rest of the sentiment are Sunshine Wishes.

Sunshine Sayings and Sunshine Wishes Thinlits product from Stampin' Up! Tracy May

We could do with some sunshine again – it’s been raining here on and off since Saturday evening! I think that’s why the song Bring Me Sunshine popped into my head as I started writing this post and now I can’t shake it! Lol! Typical British Summer – mind you gives me a great excuse to play with my new umbrella stamps too!

This card was really easy. I had the water coloured background sitting in my unfinished products basket. I think it’s Mint Macaron! I splattered some Melon Mambo over the top to break it up a bit.

I cut out the flower and sunshine sentiment from watercolour paper using the thinlits dies. I simply spritzed them with water and then spritzed the flower with Melon Mambo and then Daffodil Delight over the top which gave that lovely orangey colour. The sunshine I spritzed with Daffodil Delight and then swiped it through the orangey ink that was left over on my mat from the flower. Once they were dry I mounted them onto the card front and then I stamped the sentiment in black.

I love the little rhinestone as the dot of the ‘i’ in sunshine!

Well I hope you like it! I had great fun playing around with this one. I think it still qualifies as CAS – well fingers crossed it does! ūüôā

Boys will be boys by Stampin’ Up!

Boys will be boys by Stampin’ Up!

I’m killing two birds with one stone as the saying goes!. Today’s project is a Retro Sketch challenge entry as well as CASology Toy theme challenge entry. Boys will be boys by Stampin’ Up! is a set I’ve had for a while, that I have to admit, I’ve struggled a little with. I loved it as soon as I saw it, but then when I got it, I couldn’t seem to pull a card together with it, that I liked! That’s all changed today though!

Boys Will Be Boys by Stampin' Up! Retro Sketch CAS card Tracy May

I should tell you how I coloured the robot really shouldn’t I? He’s stamped in Basic Grey Archival ink and Watercoloured with Pool Party, Smoky Slate and Crushed Curry. I used all the colours from the Washi tape on the rest of the card and hopefully I’ve achieved the retro look I was after!

I’ve never played along with Retro Sketches before, but I’ve already got another card on the desk in progress for this sketch. It’ll be another sneak peek of Balloon Celebrations and I’ll share it with you tomorrow. Here’s the sketch..

I’m so easily distracted. I should use the sketch to finish off my Christmas cards. I need about another 20 I think. I had better get a wriggle on, or it will be too late to post them! Even as I’m typing this I have ideas for Boys Will Be Boys popping in to my head – typical isn’t it? Are you easily distracted as well, or can you be super focused?

I should be strict and not let myself play the sketch again until I finish my Christmas cards!! Bah Humbug Scrooge!!! Ha ha ha 😆

Right well enough waffle I’ll leave you with this week’s deals to check out.

Happy Hootenanny – Stampin’ Up! Owl Punch

Happy Hootenanny – Stampin’ Up! Owl Punch New Year’s Card for CASology’s Owl Challenge

Please, please, please forgive the dreadful pun! You’ll see what I mean when you scroll down to see the card! I’m entering today’s project into CASology’s Owl Challenge.¬†The only Owl related crafting item I possess is the Stampin’ Up! Owl Punch and so that is what I used. I decided on a New Year’s card as I’ve been thinking about what is happening after Christmas, what we’re doing to celebrate on New Year’s Eve and starting to plan ahead to 2016 for new classes with the lovely new products from the forthcoming Spring/Summer catalogue.

Stampin' Up! Owl Punch Tracy May New Years Card

So now you see what I mean about the dreadful pun! Sorry! 😆

These days, New Year’s Eve is a fairly quiet event. We don’t go off to busy bars or parties anymore¬†– firstly¬†we don’t have the stamina for it now and secondly we can’t get a willing babysitter. If we do go out, it’s mainly just my husband and I, having a quiet meal and we’re always back home early because it’s David’s elderly parents looking after the kids, so we head home early so as not to keep them up too late. We then¬†usually end up watching Jules Holland’s Hootenanny New Year’s Eve programme on TV for the count down to midnight! We know how to rock! Lol!

Well I hope you like today’s silly little card! It’s good to create something silly and frivolous from time to time don’t you think?

By the way, the owl’s little hat is from Guy Greetings in case you’re wondering? Oh and the extra sliver of silver glimmer paper and the red glimmer heart??? Yep – hiding inky fingerprints! 😁

Pretty card using Stampin’ Up! Products

A pretty card using Stampin’ Up! products¬†created for CASology cue word “Pretty” challenge¬†

I keep looking at today’s card thinking ah it’s so pretty, which given I am entering it into the CASology Pretty cue word challenge is probably a good thing, right? I don’t normally do pretty to this degree and there is a small corner of my brain screaming it’s too pretty for you!! Lol!¬†I think probably because this card is much more girlie than I’m used to. Buuuuut it’s good to get out of my comfort zone from time to time. What do you think¬†of my¬†pretty card using Stampin’ Up! products? Too girlie or not? Or should I call it feminine and not girly?

Pretty card using Stampin' Up! products Tracy May card making ideas

I used a technique my team leader, Michelle, used on her swap cards (click here to see), by stamping over the butterflies with Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral ink on a couple of the splatter stamps from Gorgeous Grunge (I seem to be using Gorgeous Grunge on every project these days!)

The flower was stamped on to water colour paper with Basic Black, which is now an archival ink and therefore waterproof. I water coloured using Stampin’ Write markers in Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral and Watermelon Wonder (which is a fab combination I saw at OnStage in Brussels) and an aqua painter. I used Cucumber Crush and Mossy Meadow for the stem and leaves. I then covered the whole lot with a wodge (real word honest!lol) of Dazzling Details – after I cut it out and stuck it on the front of the card.

I used a soft sky card base to tone down the girlie-ness! ūüôā

Well I hope you like it!

Don’t forget about the 20% off offer – it ends tomorrow!

Groovy Love from Stampin’ Up!

Clean and simple card using Groovy Love from Stampin’ Up!¬†

Today’s project, using Groovy Love from Stampin’ Up!, is a two birds one stone card! I’m entering it into both CASology’s Week 170 Heart Cue Card challenge and Less is More’s Week 247 sketch challenge.

Stampin' Up Groovy Love Stamp A Bag CAS card Tracy May

I went for a muted background with a pop of real red (similar to my male card for CASology last week) and added some sparkle with the rhinestones, which make it a bit more girly I think. What do you think? It’s such a great sketch from Less is More, that I got carried away and made some other cards ¬†and ended up staying up later than intended. Never a good idea when small children are around – where’s the coffee? ūüôā

Well I hope you like the card. Vintage Leaves from Stampin’ Up! – CASology Cue Card Challenge

An autumnal greetings card using Vintage Leaves from Stampin’ Up! for the CASology Cue Card Challenge – YOU (week 168).

I finally gave in and ordered Vintage Leaves from Stampin’ Up! It’s one of the stamp sets I’ve loved and¬†looked at a lot, and then moved on without ever ordering, but when I was ordering the Lighthearted Leaves set from the Autumn/Winter catalogue I¬†decided it would be a good idea to get the Leaflets Framelits to cut them out. Well as the framelits come in a bundle with Vintage Leaves at a 15% discount, well you know how it goes …..Crafters Anonymous here I come! ūüôā

I started by sponging a background from Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze, before over stamping the leaves randomly in Cajun Craze. The sentiment is from You’ve Got¬†This, which I chose so I could enter the card in to the¬†CASology Challenge Week 168 – ¬†Cue Card You. It’s been a couple of months since I played along,¬†due to a lack of organisation on my part. I actually made cards to enter but then missed the deadline a few times duh!

So what do you think? Still clean and simple right?

Sprinkles of Life from Stampin’ Up!

Keep Calm and Eat Cupcake – CASology Cupcake Challenge Card made using Sprinkles of Life from Stampin’ Up!

Good morning everyone. How are you today? Looking forward to the weekend? I hope you manage to get some crafting in.

For some reason, I just had to try out watercolouring with Sprinkles of Life from Stampin’ Up! I suppose I just wanted to create something that looked a little different. I’ve been playing with watercolour paints as well as ink pads and marker pens. This is one of the cards I have created using my ink pads and an aquapainter. As it’s the cleanest and most simple of the cards I made, I thought I would enter it into the CASology Cupcake challenge. I think it’s still qualifies as CAS as there is still a lot of white space left – what do you think?

I created the sentiment using the Alphabet Rotarty stamp set for a bit of fun.

I hope you like the card. Don’t forget that Sprinkles of Life from Stampin’ Up! is a charity stamp set. Stampin’ Up! donate 2.25 ‚ā¨ / ¬£2 from every set sold to the local branch of the Ronald MacDonald House Charities (RMHC).

I’ll be sharing more of my watercolour cards using this set next week, so pop back then (or subscribe by email or Bloglovin if you want to make sure you get my posts).

Have a great weekend x

For this card I used the following products:

Simple Handmade Greetings Cards

Simple Handmade Greetings Cards using Stampin’ Up! Garden In Bloom

Good morning peeps! Hope you had a good weekend. We went to see the Minions film yesterday. I think I enjoyed it more than the boys did. It was great fun. There was a great soundtrack of 1960s music, which had the boys out of their seats dancing. They just couldn’t sit still when the music was playing! So if I keep randomly shouting out BAN-NAN_NA you’ll know why (if you’ve seen the film that is) lol!

Today’s card is for the CASology Cue Word Challenge – Repeat. I was going to post this on Friday but I kept mucking it up getting stray ink splodges from the blocks and my fingers all over it. I was trying to do it too quickly. So I gave up, posted a different card for you and took a bit more time over this one on Saturday.

I’m posting the first card as the challenge card, but I love this second card as well, so you get a bonus picture today!

I love this stamp set. It’s so easy to create simple handmade greetings cards with it. I’ll be sending these off to friends I don’t get to see or speak to regularily, just so they know they’re still in my thoughts!

I hope you like the cards, They’re certainly brightening up my room on this dull dreary day!

Sea Street CASology Nautical Challenge Card

CASology Nautical Challenge Card using Stampin’ Up! Sea Street stamp set

Good morning peeps, or should that be good night? At the time of posting it’s late evening and I’ve just come back home from my monthly class, which was great fun as usual! I’m posting now because I’m off to the zoo tomorrow with my youngest son and the rest of his nursery class and their parent or two too! I wanted to enter my Friday post in the CASology Nautical Challenge and as posting tomorrow is entirely unrealistic I’m doing it now!

Well enough waffle and on with the show! Here’s my card using Stampin’ Up! Sea Street (available in wood or clear) …

Stampin' Up! Sea Street CASology Nautical Challenge Card Tracy May

I used the Alphabet Rotary stamp for the sentiment. I thought I’d send this as a little hello card to someone I haven’t spoken to for an age!

I had entirely another card in mind when I first saw the challenge and had a little panic when I couldn’t find the stamp sets before I remembered, that I’d loaned The Open Sea and Guy Greetings to a friend. I improvised though and I don’t think it’s too shabby if I say so myself lol!

Hope you like the card! Thanks for stopping by

P.S. Don’t forget the Stampin’ Up! Recruiting promo ends on Tuesday 30th June! There’s still time though to chose two extra stamp sets with your starter kit when you sign up as a demo. Message me for more information if you’re interested xx
