I was going to be oh so brave with my card for today and create a mixed media extravaganza! So I got out my gesso, taped my Whisper White Card stock down to a board and slapped the gesso all over it! I started building my collage, stamping images from In This World. Then I painted over parts of the images again with more gesso, so I could stamp over the top with another image.
I got out my palette of dried inks from my Stampin' Up! ink refills. Then I sprayed the inks with water to reactivate them and got out the aqua painters. After that, it all went horribly wrong! I lost my confidence and so ended up playing it safe! Lol!
In This World by Stampin' Up! Tracy May
I do really like my card today but it wasn't exactly what I had in mind! Although, I still used gesso to form the base on top of the Whisper White Card stock for water colouring over and I love the way it has subtly changed the tone of the Night Of Navy ink I used for the background.
Thank you for visiting today. The next stop is the talented Anja Luft from Germany. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

141525G
With the start of the school holidays yesterday and not having been organised enough to have done my project before the boys broke up, I needed something quick and easy to prepare for today’s hop. I’ve had the idea in my head for a while now, to team up Best Birds & Birds & Blooms Thinlits by Stampin’ Up! with the Floral Boutique Designer Washi tape.
Best Birds & Birds & Blooms Thinlits by Stampin' Up! Tracy May
My original idea had been to use the unstamped bird die cut on the card above but it didn’t look right, so I stamped one of the sparrow images and cut it out instead.
Best Birds & Birds & Blooms Thinlits by Stampin' Up! Tracy May
I thought the stamped branch would make a good perch for the unstamped die cut bird. I used the Washi tape to create a border around the edge of a Whisper White card base. What do you think? I really like it!

After stepping out of my comfort zone a couple of times this week, I decided to go back to basics for my project today. Clean and Simple! I love the new Penned and Painted set and I had it out on the desk waiting to have a play around.
Penned & Painted by Stampin' Up! Tracy May
I’m not sure whether I had a design in mind when I first started. I had the Daffodil Delight and Basic Black colour scheme in my head, as I’ve seen it around on Pinterest a lot lately.
Penned & Painted by Stampin' Up! Tracy May
I do quite like the simple colour scheme but I felt it lacked something. I tried again with a few more colours added and I love it!
Penned & Painted by Stampin' Up! Tracy May
Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight is one of my all time favourite colour schemes. I do hope you like the projects too! Which one do you prefer?

I really liked the Mixed Borders Stamp set when I saw it in the new catalogue. I think my original intention was to use it to decorate my planner (which I have yet to do!). However, when I was looking at the stamps contained in the set I really liked the idea of creating my own floral background using the flower border stamp.
141932G
I only inked up the left hand part of the stamp with the 3 flowers, and stamped it over a panel of Whisper White. I didn’t want too much colour on the background, so I randomly chose flowers to colour using the Brights Stampin’ Write Markers. Originally I was going to use Basic Black as the border for the card front and the sentiment, but it looked too harsh, so I switched to Rich Razzleberry, which looks awesome with the new copper embossing powder and copper metallic thread.
Mixed Borders by Stampin' Up! Tracy May
I even used some of the copper embossing powder for the centres of the coloured flowers. I wish the picture showed how pretty it really is. I still need to work on my photography skills!

If you’re in the UK you’ll know, that we’ve been having some really bad flash flooding recently. I have been inspired to use the Weather Together photopolymer stamp set and co-ordinating Umbrella Weather framelits dies, for today’s project, after a very rainy few days late last week and the start of this week.
142319S-2
And, of course, with all that rain, I just had to do another watercolour wash background! LoL!
Weather Together & Umbrella Weather by Stampin' Up! Tracy May
I created the background by first spritzing the watercolour paper with water. I then squeezed a few drops of Soft Sky ink, directly from the ink refill bottle, onto the wet paper. I then tipped the paper this way and that to mix the ink and the water. I dabbed off the edges with some kitchen towel and let it dry. I splashed some water onto it from an aqua painter once it was dry before I left it to dry again.
Weather Together & Umbrella Weather by Stampin' Up! Tracy May
I stamped the raindrops from Weather Together in Pool Party ink and then I stamped the umbrella in Real Red. I used my my clear Wink of Stella brush to mix the colour a little into the white stripes of the umbrella. I cut the umbrella and handle out using the dies and I also cut out some raindrops from Dazzling Diamond glimmer paper.

I’m using Seaside Shore by Stampin’ Up! for today’s project. I love this stamp set and I think it’s going to be very versatile! It’s a great replacement for Sea Street, which retired at the end of May and I’m really glad I bought it! I’ve used it today to make a birthday card for one of my son’s friends, but I think this set could easily be used for adult cards too!
Seaside Shore by Stampin' Up! Tracy May
At first, I was thinking of going for an aquarium look and using Window Sheet over the circle, but I changed my mind, as I thought everyone would expect it to be a shaker card! Lol!
Seaside Shore by Stampin' Up! Tracy May
First, I stamped the card front and the card base with Mint Macaron and Bermuda Bay for the seaweed. I used a mask, that I made out of sticky notes, to mask the seaweed as I stamped. As I wanted to line up the seaweed and fish that would show through the cut out circle, I used my Misti (shhh lol!) to stamp both the card front and card base, which were the same size to start with. I cut down the card front before I stuck it down! It was a bit laborious, and this is the second attempt, as I trashed the first when I stuck the card front on all skew-if and then tried to pull it off to move it – I really should know better by now! Lol!
But I’m glad I persevered, as I’m really happy with the card. So what do you think? I’m hoping my son’s friend likes it. My son doesn’t, but that’s because he wanted me to make a Lego Ninja card – he’s totally obsessed with Lego – Ninjago in particular! Sorry Regan – Seaside Shore it is!

If you saw my post on Wednesday, you will know that if anyone had told me before the new annual catalogue came out that I would be crooning over fairy stamps, I would have thought they were away with the fairies themselves! BUT I just love the Fairy Celebration stamp set, which I’ve used for my project today! I had so much fun making this card, and I hope you love it!
Fairy Celebration from Stampin' Up! Tracy May Magic Slider Card
On the face of it quite a cute, simple card. BUT .. pull the ribbon and see what happens!
Fairy Celebration from Stampin' Up! Tracy May Magic Slider Card
Yay – I love it! A Fairy magic slider card! I’ve sent this to a special little girl for her birthday card. I hope it’s arrived on time and that she loves it too!

Like I said, it’s not my usual type of stamp, but I think because I know so many friends with little girls who I know love the whole fairy thing it was a must have as soon as I saw it!

I’m still playing with my pre-order items until my order with lots of new goodies arrives! One of my favourite from my Stampin’ Up! pre-order is Pop of Paradise. (Stampin’ Up! demonstrators can order a certain amount of product a month before the catalogue goes live – I know, what a fabulous perk!)
I’m also still trying out arty-farty watercolour techniques lol! Sorry! But I do love water colouring! I love the fact that I can get fantastic, artsy results with stamps, inks and water!
Pop of Paradise from Stampin' Up! Tracy May #helloannualcatalogue20162017
I hope you like it. It’s really easy to do! I stamped the sentiment from the set in Memento Black ink and Versamark before embossing with clear embossing powder. It’s a cool little technique – just ink up the stamp with Versamark first and then the coloured ink. Sprinkle on clear embossing powder and heat set!

And there you have it. I’m not done with this set by a long shot but I can’t wait for all my new goodies to arrive soon too!

I am in the midst of Spring half-term holiday chaos here – I think half-term is like Spring break in the US? Anyway both my sons (aka the Bedlam Brothers) are off school and also it was my eldest son’s 7th birthday so we kicked off the holidays with a football (soccer) party in our back garden at the weekend and it’s been non-stop madness ever since! To say it influenced my choice of stamp for this hop is a given!
Fabulous Flora from Stampin' Up! Tracy May Hello! Annual Catalogue 2016 – 2017 Blog Hop Week 1
Instead of opting for something like Playful Backgrounds or the colourful, crazy Playful Palette DSP, I opted for Fabulous Flora, which is a gorgeous new Hostess set, for a (albeit short-lived) sense of calm! Lol!
141809G
I find colouring very therapeutic and relaxing and I opted for a quick sketchy colour to match the style of the stamp set. I used a blender pen and ink picked up from a palette to colour the images to create a set of notecards. I kept to the same colour scheme for all the cards I made – namely Rose Red, Garden Green, Soft Sky for the images on Whisper White card stock with the sentiment heat embossed with white embossing powder onto Basic Black Card stock. The card front is Rose Red and I used the ready made notelets that are still available in the new catalogue!  I hope you like them!
