Sunshine Wishes by Stampin’ Up!

Sunshine Wishes by Stampin’ Up!

Happy Monday peeps! I am back after a busy, busy weekend and looking forward to an easy(ish), quiet week! Chance would be a fine thing hey? 🙂 Today I’m using Sunshine Wishes by Stampin’ Up! I’ve had the idea for this card knocking around my head for a while and today seemed like the perfect opportunity to make it a reality. I’m entering this card into a challenge that my lovely team leader, Michelle Last is running over on her blog tomorrow.

Sunshine Wishes by Stampin' Up! Tracy May

Don’t you just love that sentiment? I had used it so that I could also enter this card into this week’s Less is More Time themed challenge but I’ve just realised it’s a one layer challenge and my card is certainly not one layer! Duh!

I water coloured a background onto some watercolour paper and then cut out the flower from Sunshine Wishes by Stampin’ Up! I stuck down the watercolour paper to my card base, carefully ensuring all the negative pieces from in between the petals stayed in place. Then I water coloured the flower and layered it up using 4 flowers cut from Basic Black card stock. I splattered the card base with some of the purple ink I’d used for the flower. I also used Wink of Stella Clear on the flower and spattered some over the card front too!

I finished off by stamping the leaves and the sentiment directly onto the card front, with a banner of Elegant Eggplant for the middle part of the sentiment and adding a few rhinestones for some bling.

I do hope you like my card!

Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin’ Up!

Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin’ Up!

I had the perfect opportunity this weekend to get out one of my all time favourite stamp sets, Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin’ Up! and it’s the star of the show this time, not just lurking in the background! I’m playing along with Less is More’s Week 280 challenge which is themed “Splatters”. As soon as I saw the theme, I knew it just had to be Gorgeous Grunge.

Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin' Up! Tracy May LIM #280

It was a lovely sunny day on Saturday when I was making this card and that influenced my choice of colours I think. I decided to create something similar to my blog header. I used the Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay but changed Smoky Slate to Daffodil Delight for a much brighter look!

The little butterflies are from Garden in Bloom and the sentiment and underlining dots are from Sunnburst Sayings, which I’ve not really used much. I will have to do something about that!

I heat embossed the sentiment in the dots using clear embossing powder, by first inking up my stamps with Versamark and then Memento Tuxedo Black. When you stamp the black ink goes on first and the Versamark ends up on top so the powder sticks to it! Clever hey!! 🙂

Well I hope you like my bright and cheerful card! I do but then I’m biased aren’t I? Lol!

The Colour Purple – Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up!

The Colour Purple – Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up!

I’m sneaking in with a late post again today! I just don’t know where the day went. It seemed I had a never ending list of things to do and just didn’t manage to get to the part that said Blog Post! Anyway I’ve made it and I’m sharing my entry into the Less is More Colour Challenge which is the colour purple and I’m using Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up!

Remarkable You from Stampin' Up! Tracy May LIM #279 Colour - Purple_00001

I used Elegant Eggplant, which is a deep purple,  for all the stamping including the sentiment but it looks almost black in the photograph as does the strip of Elegant Eggplant down the left hand side!

I spritzed the inked stamp with water before stamping onto watercolour paper. I then “water coloured” the flower with my clear Wink of Stella pen. Once the flower was dry I picked up some watered down Elegant Eggplant ink and created the spatters. You can see the wink of stella splatters that were created once all the ink had come off the brush tip!

Remarkable You from Stampin' Up! Tracy May LIM #279 Colour - Purple_00002

Once all the splatters were dry, I stamped the sentiment from Thankful Thoughts and mounted the card onto a strip of Elegant Eggplant and then onto a Whisper White card base. I decided not to go for the usual border or card stock all the way round, but opted for a wider strip just on one side. I quite like the effect. What you think?

Do pop over to the Less is More challenge and take a look. I have been blown away by some of the amazing creations submitted. I’ve popped by and commented on a few! I just wish I had to time to visit everyone!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Watercolour Swirly Bird from Stampin’ Up!

Watercolour Swirly Bird from Stampin’ Up! ®

Well it’s the end of a long weekend here in the UK and I finally managed to get in my craft room today when my husband took the Bedlam Brothers out for a long walk! It was my eldest son’s birthday yesterday and he had a football (soccer) party at home on Saturday afternoon and then a birthday lunch out with my in-laws yesterday, so it’s been a lovely family weekend!

Whilst the house was quiet earlier I decided to try to catch up on my blog post projects for the week, starting off with today’s post! I am playing along with the sketch challenge over at Less is More #278 today!

LIM18

I originally thought I would use a heart from the new Sweet & Sassy Framelits dies but I changed my  mind and opted for Swirly Scribbles dies instead, as I hadn’t used them previously. So here’s my Watercolour Swirly Bird from Stampin’ Up! entry to the LIM challenge.

Watercolour Swirly Bird from Stampin' Up Tracy May Less is More #278

Instead of making the one card I originally intended I ended up making 5 of the same but in different colours! I thought they would make great samples to show case the new 2016-2018 In-Colors at my catalogue launch party this coming Saturday!

Watercolour Swirly Bird from Stampin' Up! Collage

I think I chose the Emerald Envy as the main card as I liked the water coloured back ground on it the best! What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by!

I have sent out catalogues already to all customers who have purchased from me within the last six months. If you have not, but would like a catalogue, then please drop me a line with your address and I will pop one in the post to you! (N.B. I can only send to UK, France, Germany, Netherlands and Austria).

Garden in Bloom for Freshly Made Sketches

April 3, 2016 By

Challenge card using Stampin’ Up! ® Garden in Bloom for Freshly Made Sketches and Less Is More

Well my new found organised self was short lived! One week of the school holidays and it’s back to bedlam and chaos! Lol! I think I will mostly be chasing my tail this week now! 😆

I’m kicking off the week with a last minute entry to Freshly Made Sketches sketch #230 using Stampin’ Up!’s Garden in Bloom set again.

FMS Final 230

I’m also doubling up with this week’s Less is More colour challenge White space but not  WHITE

Garden in Bloom from Stampin' Up! Tracy May #FMS230 LIM#270

I stamped the Butterflies, flowers and leaves using Memento Tuxedo black. As I was colouring with pencils I used a special paper designed for coloured pencils which has a bit more tooth to it.

I had a friend over last night and she sat colouring in my colouring book whilst I sat colouring the panel for my card. This was the second attempt. The first ended up being too busy with lots more flowers and bees and very little blue space, so I binned it and started again. It’s very therapeutic colouring and chatting – I highly recommend it!

The sentiment is from Number of Years, which I love but have not really used much yet.

I best get on with it in case it’s not included in the new annual catalogue due out beginning of June. I can sense the excitement building amongst my fellow demonstrators. We will all get to see the new catalogue in the flesh at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage events starting 14th April with OnStage Live in Salt Lake City. I’m going to be at the OnStage Local event in Telford, UK on Saturday 16th and I can’t wait!

I think we may find out what will be retiring from the current catalogue at the event. One thing I do know for sure though is that the current 2014-2016 In Colors will be retiring, so make sure you get your refills ordered sooner rather than later for those ink pads. The retiring colour ink pads, refills and paper packs usually sell out in the first few days the retiring list is announced!

Hello Life from Stampin’ Up! for Less Is More One Layer Sentiment Challenge (Week 267)

Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer 2016 Catalogue - SAB

I’ve not managed to get my blog posts organised enough lately to know what is what on the blog challenges front and have missed out on entering one of my favourite challenges – Less is More, more often than not since the start of the year. I was determined this week to actually get an entry ready and in on time – really it’s not that hard now is it? Lol!

I had a quick look at this week’s challenge and off I went creating this card, using watercolour paints.

Hello Life from Stampin' Up! Tracy May Watercolor background

I do love it, but when I checked back with the Less is More challenge, I realised it’s a one layer week! Duh! So on to Plan B (yeah like I really had one in the first place ha ha ha).

Hello Life from Stampin' Up! Tracy May Less is More challenge

And so this is my actual entry for the challenge! And you can’t get more clean and simple than this! 😉

Hello Life from Stampin' Up! Tracy May Less is More challenge

If the first one is too plain and simple, you can step it up a bit with some embellishments. I used Candy Dots here but you could use rhinestones or sequins, whatever you like.

Both cards are using the Hello Life stamp set, which I got along with the Hello Life Simply Created Kit way back when. I will get that kit made up one day, I promise. In actual fact I forgot I had it as I had tucked it away whilst I was organising my room and promptly forgot about it. I have a sieve for a brain, I swear!

Well I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s projects.  Don’t forget the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration promotion finishes at the end of March.

Take a look at the gorgeous FREE product you can choose from:

Botanical Gardens Thank You Card Ideas

Botanical Gardens Thank You Card Ideas

I’m back today with a thank you card for the Less Is More Texture themed challenge and a bit of a CASE (copy and share everything) from the Stampin’ Up! Spring/Summer 2016 Catalogue. I tend to make a lot of thank you cards (I make them for every customer order, no matter how small), and the one I am sharing with you today is using Botanical Builders Framelits. The flowers are the remaining die cuts I had left over from the extras I cut out at my team leaders training at the beginning of the month. I really must put in that order and buy these myself – it’s such a great set of framelits.

Botanical Gardens from Stampin' Up! Thank You Card Ideas Tracy May

A little goes a long way with these framelits! I teamed them up with the Striped Scallop Framelits which provides the texture theme and this is where the CASEing from the catalogue comes in. I just loved this card  and it’s been on my project list for CASEing since I saw it. Today seemed like the perfect opportunity!

Occasions16_p36_2

What do you think? I kept my card a bit more plain and simple, which I felt suited the flowers from the Botanical Builder Framelits better for some reason and those of you who follow my blog know how much I love the ink splats so it’s quite unusual for me to have left them out lol!

Let me know if you need a copy of the Spring/Summer Catalogue and Sale-a-bration brochure and I will send you one (UK, NL, DE, FR, AT only I’m afraid).

Everything Eleanor from Stampin’ Up!

Super quick thank you cards using Everything Eleanor from Stampin’ Up!

Now these cards are the quickest of quick to make seriously. I will be making a bunch of these as this month’s thank you cards as not only are they super quick, I think they are lovely too! Well I’m biased – what do you think? I used Everything Eleanor from Stampin’ Up! and I am entering them (well one of them) in to the Less is More One Layer “Stem” challenge this week.

Everything Eleanor from Stampin' Up with Gorgeous Grunge UK Demonstrator Tracy May LIM

I was toying with the idea of adding a border around the flower for some extra interest but when I tried a couple of un-inked stamps to see what they would look like I decided Less is definitely More in this case.

I would describe Everything Eleanor from Stampin’ Up! as a more traditional stamp set and I tend to have a more modern style, but I thought I could team it up with the ink splat from Gorgeous Grunge to give it a more modern twist that would work well. I stamped the first ink splat in Real Red on one card blank and then Watermelon Wonder on the other, after stamping off to get a lighter shade for the second card.

I haven’t used Everything Eleanor for an age but this week, it’s been grabbing my attention every time I look down my rack of stamp sets, so I thought today would be the ideal outing for it. At first I was going to stamp, colour and cut out the flower to stick over the ink splats, but luckily remembered it was a one layer (clue being in the title duh!) challenge this week. Lol!

I must admit I am dying to add some sequins or rhinestones to bling them up a bit, but I’m resisting the temptation to stick with the one layer theme! Lol!

Less is More challenge – Green & Blue

I’m back today with a very clean and simple card for the Less is More Green & Blue Challenge. I haven’t had a proper play with the Awesomely Artistic from Stampin’ Up! for quite some time and thought it was a great opportunity to get the stamp set out and play. Try as I might though I couldn’t get my original idea of using the dragonfly image over the flowers. No idea why it wouldn’t work but it just didn’t! I’ll keep playing though and see what happens. In the meantime, having ditched the dragonfly for now, here’s my card.

What do you think? Certainly Less is More with all that lovely white space don’t you think?

Less is More Stampin' Up! Awesomely Artistic Tracy May

I added some Candy Dots from the Brights Collection to match the Tempting Turquoise/Old Olive colour scheme. Maybe it needs some bling instead?

Less is More Stampin' Up! Awesomely Artistic Tracy May

I do love these flowers though. They’re very pretty. I’m going to play around with the colour combination though as I think it would look more striking in black and red or black and purple maybe?

Well better dash. I’ve got yoga this morning – I’m trying to get back into diet/fitness mode – probably not the best thing just before Christmas, but I suppose you could call it damage limitation lol!

Summer Silhouettes from Stampin’ Up!

Clean and simple card for Less is More Colour Challenge “Fire” (week 249) using Summer Silhouettes from Stampin’ Up!

Hey again, It’s me, back with another challenge card. I’m really getting into these challenges at the moment. Today’s is the Less is More Colour Challenge where the colour scheme is Fire i.e. colours you would see in fire. I’m using Summer Silhouettes from Stampin’ Up!. It’s a beautiful stamp set that I only acquired recently, despite it having been on my list for ages!

I came up with two versions of the card. The first is the one I am entering in to the challenge. I’m not sure if it’s my favourite of the two. I keep changing my mind. Which one do you prefer?

Summer Silhouettes from Stampin' Up! Less is More Fire card Tracy May
I’ve decided to use Real Red, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight for the red, orange and yellow you would see in flames.

Summer Silhouettes from Stampin' Up! Less is More Fire card watercolour Tracy May

The second card I made using watercolour paper for the card front. I sprayed it with water before stamping over it. It’s a different look from the first but still meets the clean and simple criteria, don’t you think?

I’m going to pop over and add the link to the Less is More page, then I’ll be frantically finishing off my swaps for OnStage Live which starts tomorrow – can’t wait although in reality (and as usual) I need another day to prepare! 🙂

Before I forget, check out this week’s deals…..
