Delicate Details by Stamping’ Up! – Dream Theme Blog Hop

Welcome to the Dream Theme Blog Hop. It’s a monthly blog hop featuring some amazing Stampin’ Up!® Independent Demonstrators from around the world. Currently you’re visiting me, Tracy May from London, UK. To continue along the blog hop, please use the links below.

The theme for today’s projects is Wedding Cards! I have actually gone with a Happy Anniversary card – well I think this still counts as wedding related don’t you? I must admit I was struggling a bit with this theme as I don’t really have the wedding specific stamp sets that Stamping’ Up! offers. So I hit Pinterest for some inspiration and saw some lovely wedding cards using real lace and hey presto the idea to use Delicate Details by Stamping’ Up! was born.

Delicate Details by Stamping' Up! Dream Theme Blog Hop Tracy May

I’ve teamed my “lace” up with Kraft card stock as I love the contrast of the white embossing powder against it. In the end I decided to keep to a simple design and stamped only on the left hand of the card. What do you think? I hope you like it!

Thank you for stopping by to see my Wedding card idea. I hope you’ve found it inspiring. Please do hop along to see what my lovely and fabulously talented friend Delphine has made and keep hopping around the wonderful creations from the rest of the Dream Theme Design team!

Chase Your Dreams by Stampin’ Up!

Chase Your Dreams by Stampin’ Up!

I absolutely love today’s cards using Chase Your Dreams by Stampin’ Up! I’ve been waiting for this set for a long time. Thank you SU! The stamp set features famous monument from 5 different cities around the world.  I had the water colour pencils out (yes again! lol) and had the idea of painting the relevant country flag over the image. I had to have a few goes to get them right, except for the French flag which turned out great first time (in my humble opinion 😉)

First, of course, we have Tower Bridge, London, UK and the Union Jack/Flag. This was a tricky one but I think I got there in the end.

Chase Your Dreams by Stampin' Up! Tracy May London

Then we hop across the channel to Paris, France and L’Arc de Triumph. Actually this one is my favourite. I love how the French flag turned out.

We move into Germany next and (I think/hope) Cologne Cathedral! (Updated 11/02/17 – actually I’ve been told it’s Neuschwanstein Castle! so I got it wrong oops! 😆) I had a few goes before I ended up with something I was happy with. If you have the black too dark it obliterates the image!

Chase Your Dreams by Stampin' Up! Tracy May Cologne

Next we cross the Atlantic heading into New York, USA with the Empire State Building! I should have  started the American Flag a bit further down I think!

And finally we head down under to Sydney, Australia with the Sydney Opera House! I think this one was actually the hardest and I’m not entirely happy with the stars so don’t look too close, ok?

Chase Your Dreams by Stampin' Up!Chase Your Dreams by Stampin' Up! Sydney

So what do you think? I certainly had fun making them. Originally I was thinking of leaving them as postcards but I decided I would rather send them out as cards!

Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful You by Stampin’ Up!

Beautiful You by Stampin’ Up!

New Spring/Summer 2017 Catalogue & Sale-a-bration

Oh how exciting is it? Very very very! Not only is the new Spring/Summer 2017 catalogue available, it’s also the start of Sale-a-bration! SAB is Stampin’ Up!’s biggest promotion of the year! As a demonstrator, I was able to pre-order from the catalogue and earn SAB items in December. I’ve been having a play and I think my favourite new product has to be the watercolour pencils. They are fabulous. I’ve teamed them up with Beautiful You by Stampin’ Up! for today’s projects.

Beautiful You by Stampin' Up! Tracy May Watercolour pencils

As I wanted to create a no line water colour image, I first stamped off on scrap paper before stamping on to watercolour paper. I used smoky slate as it’s a neutral colour and the Real Red and Pacific Blue watercolour pencils can be painted on much darker. Then I used an aqua painter to flick off the end of the pencils to get the splatter effect. I got the idea for this card from an Arttutor Brusho tutorial I had seen.

Beautiful You by Stampin' Up! Tracy May Watercolour pencils

I think this one is my favourite, even though I messed the extended leg up a bit. You can see a hard water mark where I didn’t manage to blend the paint properly.

Beautiful You by Stampin' Up! Tracy May Watercolour pencils

Aren’t they beautiful? Even if I do say so myself Lol!

If you would like these or other Stampin’ Up! products please visit my online shop here!  For every £45 / 60 € you spend you can choose a free gift. See the SAB brochure here!

Hey, Chick by Stampin’ Up!

Hey, Chick by Stampin’ Up! #CCMC435

Spolier Alert! Look away now if you don’t want to see a brand new fabulous and fun stamp set! Hey, Chick by Stampin’ Up! is one of next year’s Sale-a-bration free stamps. I’ve used it for this week’s fabulous sketches. Yes, it’s time for another Create with Connie & Mary challenge!

ccmc435

I saw this set at the OnStage Local event in Telford, UK back at the beginning of November and had to have it with my pre-order from the new catalogue. I just had to use it for this sketch. I’ll also be sharing some more new product (available in January) over the course of the next few Create with Connie & Mary Challenges too.

Hey, Chick by Stampin' Up! Tracy May #CCMC435

I teamed the chick up with the new Stitched Shapes Framelits, which have been so popular they sold out of the first batch very quickly. Don’t worry more are on the way and are due in the warehouse in Germany sometime next week!

I thought the Soft Sky card front looked a little plain after I stuck on the squares I cut out using the Stitched Shapes framelits so I got the sewing machine out and stitched the card front on to the card base. Don’t look too closely at the bottom right – I went a little askew with my sewing! LoL!

Well I do hope you’ve enjoyed my little sneak peek. Please do pop over and see what the fabulously talented team have come up with for you this week over at Create with Connie & Mary!

My Top 5 Favourite Projects from Sale-a-bration 2016

My Top 5 Favourite or Most Pinned Projects from Sale-a-bration 2016

Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer 2016 Catalogue - SAB

I can not believe that Sale-a-bration ends tomorrow! It seems such a long time ago, that I heralded it’s arrival on January 5th, but it also seems like it’s flown by! Mind you life is like that in general I suppose.

I thought it would be a great opportunity to have a look back over some of my projects using the free Sale-a-bration gifts. I’m ordering in ascending order by by how popular they have been according to pins on Pinterest:

Joint 5th

Sky Is the Limit from Stampin' Up! Tracy May Sunburst Thinlits Sale-a-bration

4th Place

Stampin' Up! What I Love Sale-a-bration free stamp set Tracy May

3rd Place

Flowering Fields from Stampin' Up Water Colour Scene UK Demonstrator Tracy May

Flowering Fields on a water coloured background. Of the two projects I made for the post,  I think this one ranked higher in Pinterest….

Flowering Fields from Stampin' Up Water Colour Scene UK Demonstrator Tracy May

…although this one was my personal favourite out of everything I made during Sale-a-bration! I just love the dreamy water colour look of it! I think I love it so much as it worked so well, when usually this sort of thing ends up looking a soggy mess for me! 😃

2nd Place

Stampin' Up! What I Love Sale-a-bration free stamp set Tracy May

This one is also my 2nd favourite project of Sale-a-bration using What I love, which happened to be my favourite set funnily enough! I love the brightness of the flowers!

1st Place

Hello Stampin Up Sale-a-bration Free Stamp Set Tracy May

This one has more than double the amount of pins/repins than the 2nd place card. It’s no. 3 in my personal favourites list – it is very bright and cheery so I can see why it was the most popular!

And so there you have it! I hope you’ve enjoyed revisiting these projects with me today. Which is your favourite?

There’s still today and tomorrow left to get those Sale-a-bration products for free!

Sale-A-Bration Farewell 2016 – Part 2

Sale-A-Bration Farewell 2016 – Part 2

10479701_10153920630820900_6644420524962307553_n

Welcome to part 2 of our Sale-A-Bration Farewell 2016 Blog Hop!

You’ll be hopping around to 8 countries and will visit 15 amazing Stampin’ Up!® Independent Demonstrators, each with an inspirational project for you to enjoy. There’s just 6 days of Sale-A-Bration left and we’re getting ready to say ‘farewell’ to what’s been fantastic Sale-A-Bration of 2016. Currently you’re visiting me, Tracy May, from London in the United Kingdom. You can continue hopping my using the list of names at the end of this post. Now, let’s scroll down to see what I’ve been making.

My projects today are using Pedal Pusher, which was one of the new kids on the block so to speak. It only came out on February 16th, but it was a firm favourite as soon as I saw it!

My first project is a sweet little water coloured card. I think I am obsessed with water colouring at the moment. If I’m patient and wait for the pain to dry at each stage, I can actually do a fairly decent job! Trouble is I’m usually in a rush, or trying out 3 things at once and get in a mess. I’m pleased to say, the former is the case for this card not the latter!

Pedal Pusher from Stampin' Up! Tracy May #sabfarewell2016

I also think I have a thing about angling the card fronts at the moment too as you will also see with the next card, which is inspired by one from the annual catalogue.

Thank you for visiting today. If you’ve not seen last week’s part 1, you can start hopping that one here. The next stop on the farewell hop is the fantastic Brian King, from the US. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

My projects today are using what I think has to be my favourite of all the fabulous Sale-a-bration free gifts – What I Love!

What I love Sale-a-bration Farewell Blog Hop from Stampin' Up! Tracy May #sabfarewell2016

I started by stamping the background using the smallest of the two flower “filler” stamps in Soft Sky and Island Indigo. I then stamped the outline on a separate piece of card using Night of Navy and filled the petal colour with Island Indigo, before cutting it out and adhering it to the card over some cut out leaves, stamped in Pear Pizazz and some Silver Metallic Thread.

What I love Sale-a-bration Farewell Blog Hop from Stampin' Up! Tracy May #sabfarewell2016

I was only going to make one card for today’s post originally, but I couldn’t help but make another. Shows how much I love this stamp set. I teamed this one up with Timeless Textures to create the background.

What I Love & Happy Patterns from Stampin’ Up!

What I Love & Happy Patterns from Stampin’ Up!

Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer 2016 Catalogue - SAB

I’m back today with a card I made using What I Love & Happy Patterns from Stampin’ Up! I usually post on a Friday but my internet connection bombed out yesterday and wasn’t back up in time to get the post out. Anyway, without further ado here it is! I hope you like it.

What I Love & Happy Patterns from Stampin' Up! Tracy May

I created the circle in the middle by putting a circle mask over the Happy Patterns Decorative Mask and blending Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride and a touch of Calypso Coral. I forgot to put some tape down the full length of the side and got some ink on it, hence the strip of Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper. I think it’s starting to become a trademark look! Lol!

The flowers are from the fabulous What I Love Sale-a-bration set – one of my favourites!

Don’t forget that Sale-a-bration ends on 31st March. It’s a fantastic time to buy the Starter Kit!

Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Sky is the Limit

Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Sky is the Limit is still available whilst stocks last!

Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer 2016 Catalogue - SAB

If you missed out on the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Sky is the Limit stamp set earlier in Sale-a-bration I have good news for you. It’s still available whilst stocks last. There is a little note in the Sale-a-bration brochure that says that availability might be temporarily extended based on inventory.

Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Sky Is The Limit by Tracy May

I teamed Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Sky is the Limit with the World Traveler embossing folder from the Spring/Summer 2016 catalogue. I wanted a ticker tape type of sentiment “scrolling” across the card so I used the Stamp-a-majig and the Basic Black Marker pen on the sentiment from Sky is the Limit so I could stamp Happy and Birthday side by side.

Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Sky Is The Limit by Tracy May

I also made a gift box to match the card. The box was the perfect size for the mug, which the boys “bought” for their grandad for his birthday.

So what do you think? Great for guys isn’t it!
