Flowering Fields from Stampin’ Up! – Water Colour Scene

Flowering Fields from Stampin’ Up! – Water Colour Scene

So today’s projects are something I knocked up quickly this morning using Flowering Fields from Stampin’ Up! I already had the water colour background panels ready sitting in my basket of unfinished projects. They were created by colouring acrylic blocks with Stampin’ Write Markers before spritzing with water and pressing it into the water colour paper. I missed some parts of the block when I was spritzing the water, which resulted in gaps in the ink. I actually really like this look.

For this card I coloured the stamps in with marker pens and stamped over the background.

And for this one I stamped first in Versamark ink, heat embossed with white embossing powder, coloured with markers and finally spritzed gently with water to blend the colours a little! I think I prefer this look – what do you think?

I think it’s going to be one of those weeks where I feel like I’m chasing my tail! I had hoped to get organised over the weekend for this week’s blog posts as it’s half term this week, but after chasing around in the wind and rain getting to kids parties on Saturday and traipsing through muddy football pitches on Sunday, cuddling up on the sofa with the Bedlam Brothers watching films on Netflix, I seemed to have run out of steam.

I have so many unfinished projects in my basket I think that I will be reaching for some of those to finish for this week’s blog posts! Note to self – be more organised in future! Hmmmm is that really very likely? Probably not lol!

Botanical Builder Framelits Dies from Stampin’ Up!

Botanical Builder Framelits Dies from Stampin’ Up! – Make & Take from Team Training

As promised, I’m back today with a project that we made in team training on Sunday using Botanical Builder Framelits Dies from Stampin’ Up! The project was designed by my Stampin’ Up! Team Leader, Michelle Last, and it’s absolutely stunning. I love it!

Botanical Builder Framelits Dies from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Tracy May make & take

Isn’t it lovely? The background stamping has been done using Timeless Textures. There were four projects to make in total, but I was too busy catching up with friends to finish them all. Hopefully I’ll get the chance over the weekend to finish them off!

I love getting together with other demonstrators – it’s one of my favourite things about being a demonstrator, the friends I’ve made since joining is such a fantastic perk. Everyone is so sharing and I usually come away from these events with lots of ideas for my classes and blog.

Botanical Gardens from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Tracy May card 1

This card was a make and take from OnStage Live in Brussels in November, which I thought I would finally put together! It’s only taken 3 months lol!

As well as the face-to-face-occasions for get togethers, meeting up in the virtual world is so easy in today’s technology and I love that I can interact with people in different countries both in Europe and often over the other side of the world to me.

If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, and you are interested in signing up as a Demonstrator, I would love to welcome you to my growing team!

You can become a demonstrator for just 129 €/£99 and choose a whopping 220 € / £160 worth of product for your Starter Kit. Plus, the kit ships for free!

Sale-a-bration Stamp Set What I love from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Tracy May

I’ve seen loads of cards like this on Pinterest where the card edge has been cut around the image and have wanted to try it out for ages. It seemed like the perfect opportunity. I love how the cards turned out.

I loved the softness of the Soft Sky card front. It’s work
ed really well for this technique. I think I may have to make another batch of these for my customers, as I am sure they would love them too!

Sale-a-bration Stampin’ Up! What I Love

Sale-a-bration Stampin’ Up! What I Love

Sale-a-bration Stampin’ Up! What I Love has to be one of my favourite FREE products from this year’s Sale-a-bration and I’m sharing some more ideas today using this gorgeous set. If you missed my previous posts you can check some of them out here, here and here. I’m sharing two cards today that have been knocking around in my basket of unfinished projects for a while

Sale-a-bration Stampin' Up! What I Love Tracy May Bedlam & Butterflies

I’m getting better at being patient with water colouring and allowing the paint or ink to dry in between times or not painting images or parts of images beside each other until one has dried. It’s not easy – my natural tendency is to rush in and get it done! Lol! Taking my time though is much more satisfying as the end result is much improved and I throw less attempts away!

What’s the saying? Patience is a virtue … 😀

I dug both of these projects out of my basket the other night and made myself complete them, rather than starting yet another project that would end up in the basket languishing for another week or two! I’m so glad I did as I am really pleased with the results!

Sale-a-bration Stampin' Up! What I Love Tracy May Bedlam & Butterflies

This card was inspired by this Pin on Pinterest that keeps on being suggested to me time and again – even though I’ve already pinned it. Funnily enough since I started this card, it’s not been suggested again and it’s taken an age to find it – mind you that might have something to do with getting distracted looking at all the beautilicious cards I’ve pinned that I want to make!! I think I need about 50 years to go through and make everything I’ve pinned! Lol!

I was amazed that the Typeset Designer Series Paper held up to water colouring – just goes to show the fantastic quality you get from Stampin’ Up! ®.

I warn you now, though, I’m not done with the Sale-a-bration Stampin’ Up! What I Love set yet! I’ve got loads more ideas written down and swimming round my head! Watch this space! 😀

Mix n Match Altered Notebooks and Greetings Cards

blog hop logo

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We’re showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using new Stampin’ Up!® products that you can earn free during Sale-a-Bration. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!

Well this is not the project I had originally intended to share for today’s blog hop, but due to human error entirely i.e. mine, I had used the wrong product on that project duh! This is the Sale-a-bration blog hop not Spring/Summer! So after a quick scramble, I decided on some altered notebooks with matching greetings cards, which was on my to-do list of crafting projects anyway. I have a couple of ladies thinking of signing up with me during Sale-a-bration and I always give a little signing up gift to new team members. Maybe I’m jumping the gun a bit but it’s such a great deal I’m sure they will sign up! 🙂

Stampin' Up! Wildflower Fields DSP Mix n Match Altered Notebooks & Greetings Cards

I love the Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper and to advance my using up DSP aversion therapy, I have been using it up on cards as well as the altered notebooks!

Stampin' Up! Wildflower Fields DSP Mix n Match Altered Notebooks & Greetings Cards

At first I had intended to match the notebook with the card, however, when I came to photograph them I loved the contrast of the two base colours,Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey, so I think I shall mix them up when I give them away! What do you think?

Stampin' Up! Wildflower Fields DSP Mix n Match Altered Notebooks & Greetings Cards

I even made a little pocket inside the back cover of the notebooks to keep any loose papers tidy. Clever huh? Oh I’m so modest, NOT!! Lol! 🙂

Well I do hope you like my project and enjoy the rest of the blog hop! Hop over and see what the lovely Nicole has in store for you next!

Watercolour Bloomin’ Hearts from Stampin’ Up!

Watercolour Bloomin’ Hearts from Stampin’ Up!

I made this card AGES ago! I die cut a heart out of watercolour paper using Bloomin’ Hearts from Stampin’ Up!, grabbed an aquapainter and my Pool Party, Pear Pizazz, So Saffron, Calypso Coral and Wild Wasabi Ink pads and set to it!

Watercolour Bloomin' Hearts from Stampin' Up! Tracy May UK Demonstrator

After it was dry, I wasn’t actually that impressed with it to be honest! I told my friend Delphine it looked like something one of my sons might have done! It really looked like a child had done it! Lol! The heart languished in my basket of unfinished ideas for a couple of weeks and then, I decided I wouldn’t write it off as a disaster, until I had seen what the heart looked like on a card base. I took out various colours but as soon as I put it over the Kraft card stock I could see the transformation instantly!

Watercolour Bloomin' Hearts from Stampin' Up! Tracy May UK Demonstrator

The Kraft card just lifts the whole heart and adding the little flowers with a touch of ink water-coloured around the edges adds the final touch. I used Candy Dot centres for the middles of the flowers too.

I love this card now. And I certainly don’t think it looks like a child has made it now!!

One of the best new tools I have discovered – thank you Stampin’ Up! – is the Big Shot Die Brush, which makes using the Bloomin’ Hearts thinlits a doddle!

Occasions16_p19_b

It’s great for getting all those tiny pieces out of the die cut without having to sit and poke them through individually with a pokey tool!

I highly recommend it! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! What I Love – Freshly Made Sketches #220

Stampin’ Up! What I Love – Freshly Made Sketches #220

Hey peeps, did you have a good weekend? They always seem to fly by don’t they? The boys were even moaning and saying weekends should be 3 days long! Lol! Well I’m back today and I’m entering my Stampin’ Up! What I Love thank you card into the Freshly Made Sketches #220 challenge. I’ve reversed the sketch, which I’m hoping is ok.

FMS Final 220-001

I made this card before I saw the sketch but I think it pretty much fits – other than the sketch is top and my card is bottom lol!

Stampin' Up! What I Love Sale-a-bration free stamp set Tracy May

What do you think? I created a mask out of the post it notes which are sticky all over the back (they’re so handy. I really need to find some bigger ones too as I only have the small ones). After I had stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink I coloured the flowers with some Winsor & Newton drawing inks that I had stumbled across, in a cupboard, when I was looking for something else! Needless to say I didn’t actually find what I was looking for, but I had fun with the inks anyway. Lol!

In fact I have been playing an awful lot with the Stampin’ Up! What I Love stamp set. It’s a photopolymer two-step stamp set and it’s lovely. Even better you can choose this set for free with an order of only £45! Check out the details of Sale-a-bration from Stampin’ Up! here.

What I Love Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Gift

– #GDP019 & Retro Sketches rs#198

I’m sneaking in with another card I made using What I Love Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Gift for the Global Design Project # GDP019 challenge theme “Love”, which I combined with the Retro Sketches sketch rs#198.

rs198

Both challenges finish soon and I wasn’t sure if I’d manage to get this card done in time! But ultimately I did!

What I Love Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Gift Tracy May #GDP019 rs#198

I used the Neutrals DSP Stack for the bottom section of the card to match both the sketch from Restro Sketches and also as it has the word Love dotted throughout it also fits the Global Design Love theme!

What I Love Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Gift Tracy May #GDP019 rs#198

I used Melon Mambo to provide a pop of colour against the stark grey and white of the card, and blinged it up (I’m sure that’s a real phrase!! Lol!) with some Melon Mambo sequins from the Brights Sequins Assortment.

The What I Love Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Gift stamp set is so versatile with those sentiments that come in the set! I hope you’ve enjoyed the projects today and yesterday using it!

Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Free Products

I’ll be back next week with more projects using a mixture of Sale-a-bration free gifts and products from the Spring/Summer catalogue. One of my favourite posts for next week is show-casing the Playful Pals and Playful Pyramids for the make and take for a party my friend hosted last week.

I still do parties (I’ll talk more about them in future) so if you’re local and interested in a fun evening at home with your friends, give me a shout and we can get a date in. Sale-a-bration is a great time to host with all the extra freebies on offer!

What I love Sale-a-bration – Stampin’ Up! Thank You Card

What I love Sale-a-bration – Stampin’ Up! Thank You Card

I’m back again with a thank you card idea using the What I love Sale-a-bration Stampin’ Up! Free stamp set. It’s a beautiful two-step stamp with a few sentiments in a gorgeous handwriting font.

Stampin' Up! What I Love Sale-a-bration free stamp set Tracy May

My friend Karin came over for lunch yesterday. She’s also a demonstrator and we spent a couple of hours after lunch chatting and making cards (well I managed all of two!!). She helped me come up with the colour scheme for the card.

Stampin' Up! What I Love Sale-a-bration free stamp set Tracy May

I had already done the background last week by blending Soft Sky and Pool party onto a piece of Whisper White card stock, before sprinkling with water to acheive the bokeh (dotty) effect. Karin suggested Crushed Curry and Wild Wasabi to go with the Pool Party background. We had to laugh when we realised we were CASEing the picture in the Sale-a-bration brochure! I decided then that I may as well go all out and case properly by heat embossing the leaves in gold and copying the banner too!

Hello Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Free Stamp Set Tracy May

First up I have a more grown up card – either male or female, I think. What do you reckon? I found it quite calm and relaxing making this card. I actually heat embossed the sentiment although it doesn’t show to well in the photo.

Hello Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Free Stamp Set Tracy May

I inked up the stamp first in Versamark and then in Real Red, before covering with clear embossing powder and heat setting. The brightness of the red prompted another idea which is altogether different!
