#GDP018 Bloomin’ Love from Stampin’ Up!

I am absolutely astounded and over the moon to be joining the Global Design Project team for this week’s sketch challenge, with a guest spot, to fill in for another member who can’t make it! I got the message from Kylie (thanks so much Kylie 🙂 ) asking if I would like to take part late last night (UK time) and I jumped at the chance. Well you all know I love playing along as often as I can! Well after a few unsuccessful attempts at projects for the sketch, I decided to go with an idea, that has been on my project to-do list for ages, using Bloomin’ Love from Stampin’ Up! (Again, I know – two posts in a row!!) 🙂

Bloomin' Love from Stampin' Up! Tracy May #GDP018

I was inspired by the little heart in the sketch and the fact that Valentine’s Day is the next annual event coming up and decided to swap the circle and heart around for my card. I had cut out a few of the heart die cuts using Bloomin’ Hearts Thinlits from Stampin’ Up! on my desk, one of which I had started over-stamping with Timeless Textures in Crumb Cake and had been planning to also stamp on it with the heart stamp from Bloomin’ Love, which is what I have stamped the heart die cut for the sketch card with. I wanted a stronger colour than Crumb Cake though and decided to stamp another of the hearts with Rose Red from last week’s GDP colour challenge.

Bloomin' Love from Stampin' Up! Tracy May #GDP018

Once I had stamped the heart, I used Versamark ink to stamp the Love You sentiment from Bloomin’ Love from Stampin’ Up! all over the Kraft panel, except for one Love You, stamped in Rose Red. When I put the two together, I had to flip the sketch to landscape. I finished off with a little flower in place of the circle from the sketch.

What do you think? I hope you like it and I hope I’ve inspired you to play along with the challenge this week. Go on give it a go – it’s great fun! 🙂

Considering I thought Bloomin’ Love was a bit girly for me and I only bought the Bloomin’ Love bundle for classes because I knew my class customers would love it, it’s grown on me mightily! I love it! It is soooooo pretty and yes girly, but I have more ideas for using it still and it will most definitely be what I use to make my Mum’s Mother’s Day card!!

Well I will be back tomorrow with another project, this time using one of the fabulous free Sale-a-bration stamps, Sky is the Limit, that you can choose until 15th February. Pinkies Spring/Summer 2016 Blog Hop – Bloomin Heart Thinlits Dies from Stampin Up

blog hop logo

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We’re showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using products from the new Stampin’ Up!® Spring/Summer Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!

How exciting! A new catalogue packed with gorgeous and fun products, Sale-a-bration, with amazing FREE products and now a Pinkies blog hop to top it all off Yay! I’m in crafting heaven! And the new stamp set with matching thinlits dies I have used for today’s project are just heavenly too! Bloomin Love & Bloomin Heart Thinlits Dies from Stampin Up!

You’ve probably seen a few gorgeous examples of these around the internet. I know I certainly have but I’ve used the die in a slightly different way. See if you can guess how!

Bloomin' Heart Thinlits Dies from Stampin' Up! Tracy May

Did you spot it? I’ve used the negative of the die, which means the pieces which are left over once you remove the die cut. It was a little fiddly, but otherwise simple to achieve.

After I had run the die through the Big Shot, I was careful to keep the main die and all the little cut outs in tact until I had applied glue to the back of the cut outs and the card front. This was the fiddly part as some of them are really tiny!

Bloomin' Heart Thinlits Dies from Stampin' Up! Tracy May

When I was sure all the tiny little bits of the negative had glue on them, I stuck the whole card front down onto the Real Red card base. I used the fantastic new Big Shot die brush and foam mat it comes with to run over the die before I removed it!

The little flowers dotted around the heart and the sentiment are from the Bloomin Love stamp set. It’s a winner combination and has certainly been popular amongst us demonstrators! I hope you like my project and enjoy the rest of the blog hop!

Hop over and see what the lovely Lea has in store for you next!

Happy New Year Card Softly Falling & Balloon Celebration from Stampin' Up! Tracy May

I’ve used Softly Falling & Balloon Celebration to create my New Year’s card. I love how simple the card looks but with a touch of bling for the celebration theme. Balloon Celebration will be available from January 5th – next Tuesday so not long to go now.

In the meantime, there’s still time to get hold of the retiring items from the Autumn/Winter catalogue and some of them are greatly reduced too. Check out the big year end sale!

Picture Perfect & Timeless Textures from Stampin’ Up!

Picture Perfect & Timeless Textures from Stampin’ Up! – Sneak Peak from the upcoming Spring/Summer 2016 Catalogue

The last couple of days have been spent in admin mode. A friend had offered to have the boys over for a playdate with her two children the other day and rather than dive into all the new stamp sets from the Spring/Summer 2016 catalogue as I was itching to do, I was good and filed my tax return! It’s one of those tasks you put off and put off, but then ends up not being as bad as you thought it would be! So last night I gave myself some time off catching up on the rest of my admin and had a play with Picture Perfect & Timeless Textures from Stampin’ Up!

I have been itching to have a proper play around with both these sets and inspired by a stunning card by Miranda, a Dutch Demonstrator, which you can see here, I put them both together. I tried a sepia-ish colour scheme first, but then thought it might look better in shades of grey. What do you think? Which one do you prefer?Picture Perfect Timeless Texture from Stampin' Up! Tracy May

I teamed them up with glimmer paper, metallic thread and sequins for some bling.

Picture Perfect Timeless Texture from Stampin' Up! Tracy May

I love the grungy look of these cards. They are softer than my usual style which is crisp and sharp, but I think they are still CAS (clean and simple).

Picture Perfect Timeless Texture from Stampin' Up! Tracy May

I can’t decide if I like the Bermuda Bay one better or the Watermelon Wonder.

Picture Perfect Timeless Texture from Stampin' Up! Tracy May

I layered the images from Timeless Textures over each other, stamping off first to get the faded look.

It’s hard to see in the photo but I added Wink of Stella Clear to all the flowers. They look lovely and shimmery in real life.

Rose Wonder from Stampin’ Up! – Thank You Card idea

Rose Wonder from Stampin’ Up! – Thank You Card idea

Wow all the build up and the preparation and it’s over in one day! We had a great Christmas with the boys and my sisters and Mum, and are now back home with a mountain of tidying and putting things away! I’ve done a sweep of the boys room to make room for all their new presents. We do try not to go overboard, but even so it seems like they have so much! Lucky boys – I will be designing them some thank you cards over the next few days to send to all the family and friends who bought them presents. In the meantime, here’s one of my own Thank You Cards I made using Rose Wonder from Stampin’ Up!

Rose Wonder from Stampin' Up! Thank You Card idea Tracy May

This was a very simple card to make and other than drying time it was very quick too. I simply stamped the largest rose from Rose Wonder in Basic Black onto watercolour paper and then watercoloured using an aqua painter and ink from the lids of my ink pads. I used colours from the subtle collection for this card.

I only used the one stamp set as there are a number of sentiments included. I flicked some green ink lightly over the watercolour paper and finished off with rhinestones for some sparkle. What do you think?

Rose Wonder from Stampin’ Up! will be available to order from January 5th, in the meantime, if you would like any of the other products used and are happy to shop with me, simply click on the table below and you will be taken to my online shop, don’t forget to enter the code shown below and on the side bar for your free gift. Seasons Greetings from Bedlam & Butterflies

Seasons Greetings from Bedlam & Butterflies

Well it’s the big day and all that’s left for me to say is Seasons Greetings, peace and goodwill to all! However you may be celebrating or otherwise spending today I wish you a happy and peaceful day with much as much merriment as you desire!

I have a round up of my favourite Christmas cards I have made using Stampin’ Up! products from the Autumn/Winter 2015 catalogue. I’ll kick off with this one, using Wonderland, which is my absolute favourite and seems to have been yours too – it’s been pinned over 1000 times – I don’t know exactly how many but it’s the largest number of pins of a single project of mine – thank you very much! 😀

My second favourite is this one using the Sleigh Ride edgelits!

Skating By Stampin’ Up! – birthday card idea for boys

Skating By Stampin’ Up! – birthday card idea for boys

Hey there, normal service being resumed today, after yesterday’s absence. I spent the day wrapping presents and packing and just ran out of time! I’m having a break from Christmas today (only temporarily I hasten to add!) with this card, which is an easy boy birthday card. I took inspiration from the layout of this card by Artisan Design team member Inge. I love her cards! I used Skating By Stampin’ Up! for the image but the sentiment is from Talented Trio.

Skating By Stampin' Up! Tracy May Boy Birthday Card idea

The background paper is from the Schoolhouse DSP pack, which I have had for months and not used!   I’m still not out of my DSP hoarding habit it seems! I must get over that – you should see how much 12×12″ I have accumulated since I joined Stampin’ Up! Lol!

I used watercolour pencils and aqua painters to colour the little boy in.

Last minute Christmas card using Wonderland by Stampin’ Up!

Last minute Christmas card using Wonderland by Stampin’ Up!

I knew that I would forget a couple of Christmas cards. My phone contacts list and computer contacts list are supposed to be synched but I have discovered they aren’t. The ones I need to post will be getting Happy New Year’s cards instead though. I will be sharing those next week in the run up to the new year. In the meantime, I cased my own tag, for the design of this last minute Christmas card using Wonderland from Stampin’ Up!

I’m sad that Wonderland isn’t being carried forward in to the new catalogue, I think it’s one of my favourite sets from this season’s Autumn/Winter catalogue. You can get hold of it until January 4th. Check out the rest of the retiring list and don’t forget about the year end sale either!
