Festival of Trees from Stampin’ Up!

Christmas inspiration for the Global Design Project “Christmas challenge (#GDP011) using Festival of Trees from Stampin’ Up!

Ok so it’s official, Christmas is on the way! Today’s card for the Global Design Project “Christmas challenge (#GDP011) uses Festival of Trees from Stampin’ Up! combined with a dash of Lucky Stars embossing folder and a sprinkle of Gorgeous Grunge – oh and not to forget a scattering of Jingle All the Way!

I think I’m going with this version of my card for #GDP011. I’ve seen loads of cards recently being embossed after stamping, which is what inspired today’s cards.

I wanted a subtler look for the embossing, so I didn’t run this one through the embossing folder. I’ll show you how I did it at the end of this post!

This one I ran through the big shot to emboss.

So how did I get that lighter embossing on the landscape version of this card? Easy……

…. I just put the card in the embossing folder then I stood on it! I moved my foot around to make sure I covered the whole of the card front! Dont worry – no embossing folders were hurt during this procedure! Lol! 🙂

OnStage Live Swaps using Lighthearted Leaves from Stampin’ Up!

Mini Treat Bag Swaps made for OnStage Live using Gorgeous Grunge and Lighthearted Leaves from Stampin’ Up!

Well I’m back from Brussels and OnStage Live! So now I can share the swaps I made using Lighthearted Leaves from Stampin’ Up! I created mini treat bags using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and white envelope paper from the Neutrals envelope paper collection. I based the design on the Thank You card I created a while back using Lighthearted Leaves teamed up with Gorgeous Grunge.

I had a fantastic time in Brussels! I loved the new format for the Stampin’ Up! event, formerly known as convention. There were lots of fabulous, gorgeous new products to see, which I’m sure you will love! I can’t show you them just yet as there are still some events going on, but I will give you a sneak peek soon.

Let me show you my swaps before I go off on a tangent!

I made 40 of them – 20 in each colour. Which one do you prefer?

This one uses Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral. I stamped the main leaf in Calypso Coral card using Calypso Coral ink, before adding highlights with a white gel pen.

This one is stamped in Pool Party, Island Indigo and Night of Navy. I’ve never used Night of Navy much before, but seem to be liking it more and more. This one is my favourite. I cut the leaves out using the Leaflets Framelits.

I also filled the treat bags with Hot Chocolate powder, a few chocolate chips and mini marshmallows!

The Bedlam Brothers kept buzzing around the bags with the chocolate chips and marshmallows in prior to me getting round to making my swaps. They were very concerned there wouldn’t be enough left for them, so I made them up a bag each and I will make them a Christmas themed treat bag to put them in! 🙂

Little monkeys – they did miss me whilst I was away and I got lots of cuddles when I got back!

Well I hope you like my swaps. If you like the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set, be sure to order it now as it will be gone by the end of December. The full list of retiring products is here, so be sure to take a look and order the items you want before it’s too late.

Also there is a fantastic offer on at the moment, so check that out as well!

Summer Silhouettes from Stampin’ Up!

Clean and simple card for Less is More Colour Challenge “Fire” (week 249) using Summer Silhouettes from Stampin’ Up!

Hey again, It’s me, back with another challenge card. I’m really getting into these challenges at the moment. Today’s is the Less is More Colour Challenge where the colour scheme is Fire i.e. colours you would see in fire. I’m using Summer Silhouettes from Stampin’ Up!. It’s a beautiful stamp set that I only acquired recently, despite it having been on my list for ages!

I came up with two versions of the card. The first is the one I am entering in to the challenge. I’m not sure if it’s my favourite of the two. I keep changing my mind. Which one do you prefer?

I’ve decided to use Real Red, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight for the red, orange and yellow you would see in flames.

The second card I made using watercolour paper for the card front. I sprayed it with water before stamping over it. It’s a different look from the first but still meets the clean and simple criteria, don’t you think?

I’m going to pop over and add the link to the Less is More page, then I’ll be frantically finishing off my swaps for OnStage Live which starts tomorrow – can’t wait although in reality (and as usual) I need another day to prepare! 🙂

Before I forget, check out this week’s deals…..

Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up! #GDP010

Global Design Project #GDP010 sketch challenge card using Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up!

With all the Christmas crafting that’s been going on lately, I’ve neglected my other non-seasonal stamp sets, so it was really nice to get one out yesterday to create my entry for the Global Design Project #GDP010 sketch challenge. I used Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up! – one of my favourites for colouring – except I’ve not coloured this card!

Stampin' Up! Remarkably You & Watercolour Wings Tracy May #GDP010

I used the Melon Mambo ribbon to create the “frame” from the GDP sketch and to add a splash of colour.  I didn’t think about lining up the flowers on the card base and the front panel, which perhaps would have looked better? What do you think?

I’m getting very excited, now, as this time Thursday I will be at OnStage Live – the annual Stampin’ Up! conference. Can’t wait. I’m frantically trying to prep some swaps – I didn’t manage any last year as we were in the middle of a building project. I’ll share my swaps with you later on, so make sure you pop back to see them.

Guy Greetings from Stampin’ Up!

Clean and simple card using Guy Greetings from Stampin’ Up! – CASology Week 171 – Vehicle!

I’m back with a super quick post today. I’m entering this card using Guy Greetings from Stampin’ Up! in to the CASology Cue Word Challenge for Week 171 – Vehicle being the cue word. I went for a super simple card but added some extra interest by scoring a double border around the edges of the card front. I also changed the sentiment from Grandpa which comes in the stamp set to Grandad as that is what my boys call my father-in-law and this card will double up as his birthday card from them.

Guy Greetings from Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator, Tracy May

I simply inked up GRAN from the GRANPA stamp and stamped it. Then I inked up the separate DAD stamp and stamped it at the end of GRAN, which is very easy to do using the photopolymer stamps. I coloured the image using a blender pen and Classic Stampin’ Pads in Real Red and Old Olive! It was a super quick, easy card. My father-in-law will be 87 so no doubt I’ll add something cheeky along the lines of this resembling his first car! 🙂

Right, got to dash I’m prepping (or rather trying to) my swaps for Stampin’ Up! OnStage Live in between picking up the boys from school and getting them dinner and ready for bed. No doubt it will be a late one as I haven’t even finalised the design of the swaps yet! Eeeek!

Simply add the code to your online order and you will receive a free gift from me once the code is closed at the end of the month. When I close the code each month, the host rewards will be calculated and divided between all the people who have placed an order, using the code, that month. Each person will be sent a gift, directly from me. Please allow a couple of weeks i.e. until the middle of the following month for this to arrive, to allow time for me to order the free gifts and then package them up and send them on (the postage for the free gift will be covered by me).

Sea Street CASology Nautical Challenge Card

CASology Nautical Challenge Card using Stampin’ Up! Sea Street stamp set

Good morning peeps, or should that be good night? At the time of posting it’s late evening and I’ve just come back home from my monthly class, which was great fun as usual! I’m posting now because I’m off to the zoo tomorrow with my youngest son and the rest of his nursery class and their parent or two too! I wanted to enter my Friday post in the CASology Nautical Challenge and as posting tomorrow is entirely unrealistic I’m doing it now!

Well enough waffle and on with the show! Here’s my card using Stampin’ Up! Sea Street (available in wood or clear) …

Stampin' Up! Sea Street CASology Nautical Challenge Card Tracy May

I used the Alphabet Rotary stamp for the sentiment. I thought I’d send this as a little hello card to someone I haven’t spoken to for an age!

I had entirely another card in mind when I first saw the challenge and had a little panic when I couldn’t find the stamp sets before I remembered, that I’d loaned The Open Sea and Guy Greetings to a friend. I improvised though and I don’t think it’s too shabby if I say so myself lol!

Hope you like the card! Thanks for stopping by

P.S. Don’t forget the Stampin’ Up! Recruiting promo ends on Tuesday 30th June! There’s still time though to chose two extra stamp sets with your starter kit when you sign up as a demo. Message me for more information if you’re interested xx

A Virtual Craft Room Tour

A Virtual Craft Room Tour  – a video walk round of my crafting space.

Good morning peeps, how’s life? Hope all is fine and dandy in your corner of the world. I love seeing other people’s craft spaces, to get ideas or just to be be plain old nosy really and I know that other people do too, so today I’ve got a virtual craft room tour for you of my own craft room.

We recently had our house extended and the living area is now at the back, which freed up the front room (previously our living room/lounge) for me to use as my craft room and it also doubles up as a guest room too. Why it’s taken the shot of under my desk I do not know! Lol – need to empty that bin!!

Butterflies Thinlits from Stampin’ Up!

Butterflies Thinlits from Stampin’ Up! – Masking and Spritzing with ink refills

Well hello. And how are you today? It’s absolutely peeing it down as I speak and I’ve put the heating back on Brrrr. (Sorry ignore me – we Brits are obsessed with the weather lol!)

I spent a happy evening last week, playing around with my spritzers again – I think I told you already me and spritzers are not usually a happy combination. But, I think I’m getting the hang of them now.

Stampin' Up! - butterflies thinlits - masking - spritzing - Bedlam & Butterflies

My lovely downline, Delphine, had posted these gorgeous negative mask cards on her blog – she is super talented – go and check out her lovely projects. Well, it reminded me that I had wanted to use the masking technique with the Butterflies Thinlits Dies and my Stampin’ Spritzers. I used on of my Stampin’ Up! delivery boxes to create a spritzing chamber by taking the side panel off, so I could lay the project down on the bottom and spritz away without the ink going everywhere – I still managed to get it all over the counter top in the utility room anyway lol!

I loved how the mask looked afterwards so kept it to use on this card.

Stampin' Up! - butterflies thinlits - masking - spritzing - Bedlam & Butterflies

It’s pretty isn’t it? I used the Butterfly Basics stamp set for the sentiment and stamped the background saying from the same set all over in Versamark ink.

I hope you like today’s projects. Don’t forget to check out the Retiring List (link on the side bar). There are lots of items that have already sold out, but there are still bargains to find too.

Thanks for stopping by.
