A Rainbow Sunburst Card from Stampin’ Up!

A Rainbow Sunburst Card from Stampin’ Up! ® birthday card

I loved creating today’s rainbow card using Sunburst Sayings and Sunburst thinlits from Stampin’ Up! I do find sitting messing around with paper and inks very therapeutic. There is also something very satisfying about it – when it all turns out how you envisaged in your mind of course! Lol!

(Trust me I have had a few equally frustrating moments when things haven’t turned out the way I wanted them to as well! ) 😂

A Rainbow Sunburst Card from Stampin' Up! ® birthday card Tracy May

I used a mask cut using the Sunburst thinlits and lo-tack tape to protect the adjacent rays to those I was working on. I just simply rubbed the ink over with a sponge, one colour at a time before repositioning the lo-tack tape and starting again with the next colour. I didn’t have to be too careful about it as I’d masked everything off. It was very messy mind you and I think I got as much ink on my fingers as on the card front lol!

I then cut another sunburst to go on the top, which is adhered using a tonne of Stampin’ Dimensionals! I finished off with a sentiment mounted on to two Delightful Daffodil circles cut using the circle punches and hey presto a very bright cheery card IMHO! 😉

I hope you like it!

Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up!

Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up!

I managed another quick card using Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up! – well I say quick card but I took a discarded card front from the basket of unfinished projects to complete this card.

I had already water coloured the flower, but as the image hadn’t been stamped properly on the card front panel I had just stuck it in the basket. The image was really off centre, so I partially cut around the flower. I stamped the same flower image over a panel of Pool Party using Versamark ink and then added some splatters from Timeless Textures in Pool Party over the top of the flowers.

Remarkable You from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Tracy May

I popped the water coloured flower and leaves up onto Stampin’ Dimensionals and then popped the two panels onto a Whisper White card base. I finished off with a sentiment from Another Thank You over some Metallic thread and finished off with some silver sequins.

I think the sentiment doesn’t quite fit (ignoring the fact that it is also slightly wonky)! What do you think?

Number of Years from Stampin’ Up!

Number of Years from Stampin’ Up! teamed up with Large Numbers Framelits Dies for Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 222

I went to team training yesterday – it was great fun! When Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators get together we usually make card fronts or other items to swap with each other. It’s a way of inspiring each other and generating ideas and usually we just pick our own theme to go with. This time my team leader Michelle wanted to try something a bit different and so we were given a list of particular stamp sets and chose one to make for the others who also chose that set. As there were such a large number of us going some sets had to spill over to two groups and so I offered to take a spot on one of those spill over groups which was Number of Years from Stampin’ Up!

FMS Final 222-001

As usual I left making my swaps until the night before and so I used this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 222 for the layout and I had been wanting to try out a technique I had seen on Pinterest, on this card, for the numbers.

Number of Years from Stampin' Up! Large Numbers Framelits UK Demonstrator Tracy May

And as always with my crafting which is dual purpose, the bright colour scheme and numbers chose are for my  son’s 5th birthday, which isn’t until May but hey at least I’m now prepared! Lol!

Number of Years from Stampin' Up! Large Numbers Framelits UK Demonstrator Tracy May

I water coloured a panel of Water colour paper and dried it with my heat gun. Then I cut the numbers 1 and 4 from a panel of whisper white that was the same size as the water colour paper and stuck it over the top. I then stamped, cut and added the numbers 2, 3 and 5.

So what do you think? I love the Number of Years from Stampin’ Up! and the matching Large Numbers Framelits don’t you?

You’re Sublime from Stampin’ Up!

You’re Sublime from Stampin’ Up! – colouring with coloured pencils the “before” shots

You’re probably wondering what the “before” shots means? Well as you probably know if you follow my blog, I’m into colouring with various mediums – marker pens, coloured pencils, water colouring etc. I love it! I really find it very relaxing, but I’m not a natural. I need help to get better and so I have signed up for a couple of online courses – one for water colouring and one for coloured pencils! I’ve used You’re Sublime from Stampin’ Up! to check progress. And what better time than during the Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge #thedailymarker30day.

You're Sublime from Stampin' Up!

I’ve been managing some colouring every day, although the results aren’t always publishable! Lol! So before I take the course for coloured pencils, I thought I would do a set of cards that I can re-create after I have taken the course to compare and check progress against. And so I sat and coloured all these cards last night sitting in bed. I messed them all up trying to stamp the sentiments on and so had to do them all over again, which is why this post is so late today!

You're Sublime from Stampin' Up! #thedailymarker30day

The frog got smudged by my son but I think I managed to rescue him enough to use on a card!

You're Sublime from Stampin' Up! #thedailymarker30day

I wasn’t too happy with the flowers and wheel barrow as they look a little flat. I added a touch of white gel pen just to lift them.

You're Sublime from Stampin' Up! #thedailymarker30day

Oops the submarine is a little off centre!

You're Sublime from Stampin' Up! #thedailymarker30day

I think, they’re a cute little set as they are, but I’m hoping the next ones will be more interestingly coloured! Watch this space! 😊

Playful Pals from Stampin’ Up!

Playful Pals from Stampin’ Up! – note card gift set

A friend wanted to hold a Stampin’ Up! party again (she held one a  while back and loved it so much!) and asked me to create a make and take for her guests that was child friendly as she wanted to invite all her school mum friends.

Playful Pals from Stampin' Up! Tracy May Door Prize Draw

As there were going to be people there I hadn’t met before I thought I would make a set of mini notecards using the Playful Pals stamp set to use as the prize for the Door Prize Draw. I folded all the forms (used to collect contact details) and asked the hostess to draw one from the pile and awarded the set to the person whose form was picked out.

Playful Pals from Stampin' Up! Tracy May Door Prize Draw

The set was well received with lots of oohs and ahhs and squeels of how cute! It really made me smile! I love introducing new people to Stampin’ Up! and their wonderful products.

Playful Pals from Stampin' Up! Tracy May Door Prize Draw

I created some little aliens too! My youngest son was hovering whilst I was making them asking if he could keep them all – so they definitely got the childs-view seal of approval!

Playful Pals from Stampin' Up! Tracy May Door Prize Draw

I had made an envelope box out of dotty designer series paper using the Envelope Punch Board and wrapped it with Blushing Bride Seam Binding ribbon and popped it into a cellophane bag tied up with ribbon and a tag, but for some reason I didn’t take a photo of it or I managed to accidentally delete it when transferring my photos to my laptop!

Pyramid Pals & Playful Pals from Stampin' Up! Tracy May Hostess Gift & Make and Take

For the Hostess Gift I made the little pink pig using the Pyramid Pals Thinlits and popped a small bag of chocolate buttons in it. Again I forgot to take a photo but you can see what it looked like above. This was also the make and take. I pre-cut everything for the guests to keep things simple, so they just needed to stamp on the eyes and assemble the pyramid. It was a great hit with everyone!

Pyramid Pals & Playful Pals from Stampin' Up! Tracy May Hostess Gift

I couldn’t resist having a bit of a play and made a couple of other samples to show everyone. I cased the monkey from the catalogue, but designed the sheep myself – oh what fun!

Pyramid Pals & Playful Pals from Stampin' Up! Tracy May Hostess Gift

I’m going to make a bunch of these for the boys and their friends for the end of half-term next week! We always have a kids and mums tea/playdate on the last day before the school holidays and I know the kids will love these!

Butterflies & Timeless Textures from Stampin’ Up! #GDP021

Butterflies & Timeless Textures from Stampin’ Up! #GDP021

I’ve got two cards featuring Butterflies & Timeless Textures from Stampin’ Up! for you today. The first one I’m entering into the Global Design Project Colour Challenge #GDP021

GDP021

I’m not very good at colour challenges. I find them ….well… challenging! Ha ha ha! I decided I would see what using the baby wipe ink pad technique would produce. I thought the flourish from Timeless Textures would make a good starting point. First I splattered some plain white card fronts with drops of the 3 colours…. and decided not to use them at all!!!! 😬 Not to worry, I’m sure they’ll come in handy for something else!

Butterflies & Timeless Textures Stampin' Up! Tracy May #GDP021

For this card I decided on one butterfly in Melon Mambo. The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed on to the Free Sale-a-bration Botanical Gardens Vellum and mounted over a strip of Wisteria Wonder.

Butterflies & Timeless Textures Stampin' Up! Tracy May #GDP021

The next card was assembled under strict instructions from my 4 year old who is off sick from school at the moment. He was sat under my table as I was creating the cards. I had to keep sticking the card under the table to get his approval of what colour butterflies and where to put them! Ha ha ha

Butterflies & Timeless Textures Stampin' Up! Tracy May #GDP021

Obviously this one is his favourite and he did a great job I think! Ha ha ha

I hope you like today’s projects. Be sure to check out all the other lovely entries too!

Sale-a-bration Stampin’ Up! What I Love

Sale-a-bration Stampin’ Up! What I Love

Sale-a-bration Stampin’ Up! What I Love has to be one of my favourite FREE products from this year’s Sale-a-bration and I’m sharing some more ideas today using this gorgeous set. If you missed my previous posts you can check some of them out here, here and here. I’m sharing two cards today that have been knocking around in my basket of unfinished projects for a while

Sale-a-bration Stampin' Up! What I Love Tracy May Bedlam & Butterflies

I’m getting better at being patient with water colouring and allowing the paint or ink to dry in between times or not painting images or parts of images beside each other until one has dried. It’s not easy – my natural tendency is to rush in and get it done! Lol! Taking my time though is much more satisfying as the end result is much improved and I throw less attempts away!

What’s the saying? Patience is a virtue … 😀

I dug both of these projects out of my basket the other night and made myself complete them, rather than starting yet another project that would end up in the basket languishing for another week or two! I’m so glad I did as I am really pleased with the results!

Sale-a-bration Stampin' Up! What I Love Tracy May Bedlam & Butterflies

This card was inspired by this Pin on Pinterest that keeps on being suggested to me time and again – even though I’ve already pinned it. Funnily enough since I started this card, it’s not been suggested again and it’s taken an age to find it – mind you that might have something to do with getting distracted looking at all the beautilicious cards I’ve pinned that I want to make!! I think I need about 50 years to go through and make everything I’ve pinned! Lol!

I was amazed that the Typeset Designer Series Paper held up to water colouring – just goes to show the fantastic quality you get from Stampin’ Up! ®.

I warn you now, though, I’m not done with the Sale-a-bration Stampin’ Up! What I Love set yet! I’ve got loads more ideas written down and swimming round my head! Watch this space! 😀

If you would like to earn the Sale-a-bration Stampin’ Up! What I Love set for free or any of the other fabulous Sale-a-bration products, you just need to spend 60 € | £45 and you can choose 1 item for FREE. Picture Perfect Watercolouring with Stampin’ Write Markers

Picture Perfect Watercolouring with Stampin’ Write Markers

If you follow my blog, you’ve probably realised I love watercolouring! I’m forever dabbling and experimenting. Some attempts turn out great (whilst others are a complete failure)! How about this for Picture Perfect Watercolouring with Stampin’ Write Markers (ha ha sorry couldn’t resist!)

Picture Perfect Watercolouring with Stampin' Write Markers

I started playing with the Stampin’ Write markers after watching a video on an online course about the various watercolour mediums you can use!  (I am taking the Watercolor for Cardmakers: Exploring Mediums which is the second class in the Watercolor for Card Makers series). It was just one of the introductory videos and  but it inspired me to try out a technique using the markers and a spray bottle of water to see how they would work. Fantastic is how! The ink is water-based and whilst they technically aren’t watercolour markers on watercolour paper (with water) they work as if they are!

Picture Perfect Watercolouring with Stampin' Write Markers

I used 3 green shades Pear Pizazz, Wild Wasabi and Garden Green to create the foliage. Whilst the watercolour paper was still damp I dabbed my Melon Mambo marker around the green to create the flowers. I love how both cards turned out, although with the second card I went back and added some more colour with the ink splashes stamp from Timeless Textures.

Mix n Match Altered Notebooks and Greetings Cards

blog hop logo

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We’re showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using new Stampin’ Up!® products that you can earn free during Sale-a-Bration. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!

Well this is not the project I had originally intended to share for today’s blog hop, but due to human error entirely i.e. mine, I had used the wrong product on that project duh! This is the Sale-a-bration blog hop not Spring/Summer! So after a quick scramble, I decided on some altered notebooks with matching greetings cards, which was on my to-do list of crafting projects anyway. I have a couple of ladies thinking of signing up with me during Sale-a-bration and I always give a little signing up gift to new team members. Maybe I’m jumping the gun a bit but it’s such a great deal I’m sure they will sign up! 🙂

Stampin' Up! Wildflower Fields DSP Mix n Match Altered Notebooks & Greetings Cards

I love the Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper and to advance my using up DSP aversion therapy, I have been using it up on cards as well as the altered notebooks!

Stampin' Up! Wildflower Fields DSP Mix n Match Altered Notebooks & Greetings Cards

At first I had intended to match the notebook with the card, however, when I came to photograph them I loved the contrast of the two base colours,Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey, so I think I shall mix them up when I give them away! What do you think?

Stampin' Up! Wildflower Fields DSP Mix n Match Altered Notebooks & Greetings Cards

I even made a little pocket inside the back cover of the notebooks to keep any loose papers tidy. Clever huh? Oh I’m so modest, NOT!! Lol! 🙂

Helping Me Grow Stampin’ Up! Spring/Summer 2016

Helping Me Grow Stampin’ Up! Spring/Summer 2016

Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer 2016 Catalogue - SAB

Helping Me Grow Stampin’ Up! Spring/Summer 2016 set is a beautiful photopolymer flower stamp set, with large images. It’s title is very apt for my blog as my aim for this year is to grow my blog readership. Up until towards the last quarter of 2015, Stampin’ Up! was really a hobby for me. Now my youngest son is at school full time, I am working on growing from being a hobby demonstrator to making it my primary source of income. So thank you for following, reading and supporting me. Thank you for visiting and Helping Me Grow!

Helping Me Grow Stampin' Up! Tracy May Independent UK Demonstrator

As you can see I’m still in Kraft card stock mode! I heat embossed the daisy image in white stampin’ emboss powder, before colouring the image in with coloured pencils. Laying down layers of colour is one of the most relaxing pastimes, I can tell you!

Helping Me Grow Stampin' Up! Tracy May Independent UK Demonstrator

I have no idea what this flower is called, but it seems familiar and I’m sure it’s naturally blue/lilac tones or maybe I’m confusing it with wisteria, which is similar in shape but wisteria hangs down not grows up like this doesn’t? I know I will kick myself when I remember what it’s called or someone lets me know!!

Anyway I hope you like these projects and feel inspired!

Don’t forget to check out the weekly deals before you go! And don’t forget about Sale-a-bration! Reminders are at the end of this post!
