Weather Together by Stampin’ Up! for Strawberry Sketches #SS009

strawberry-setches-ss009

I’m joining the lovely Sarah Berry’s Strawberry Sketches challenge again this week. I managed to get back into the craft room in between lots of organising things over the weekend. It took me a while to get back into the swing of things so today’s card is actually my second attempt at Sarah’s sketch. I’m using Weather Together by Stampin’ Up!

This is such a lovely stamp set with co-ordinating dies to cut out all the umbrellas and handles. There are even dies to cut out little raindrops! How cute is that?

I decided to add a bit of interest to the panel underneath by embossing it with the Softly Falling embossing folder. With a bit of imagination it could be rain couldn’t it? Lol! I cut out the clouds and stuck them down underneath the vellum banner before stitching it to the Soft Sky background panel.

I finished off the card with a strip of Real Red DSP from the Brights DSP Stack and a few rhinestones!

What do you think? I think the touches of Real Red really pop out.

Before I go, I want to let you know that the following special offers are still available. We are in week 2 which runs until 14th September (2016):

Spoiler Alert – Gorgeous New Products Coming Soon!

Halloween Scenes Edgelits by Stampin’ Up!

Well I finally managed to get some crafting done today! I had my Stampin’ Up! Autumn/Winter Catalogue pre-order arrive yesterday. But I didn’t get the chance to have a play until this morning. I know how terrible lol! I decided to buy some Halloween sets this year and I’m showing you a sneak peek of one of them, Halloween Scenes Edgelits by Stampin’ Up! This set was perfect for Sarah Berry’s Strawberry Sketches #SS004.

The Halloween Scenes Edgelits by Stampin’ Up! can be used for more than just Halloween Cards as you will see over the next few weeks. I have a few ideas in my head and none of them are particularly Halloween related!

I’ve made a (kind of) Thanksgiving card using the picket fence and the tree edgelits dies. They are are my absolute favourite and are the main reason I bought this set. I could see the potential for more than Halloween (and indeed Thank You) cards.

What do you think? I love the Pumpkin Pie and Soft Sky colour combination.

I used Thoughtful Banners and the Banner Duet punch for the sentiment, which I stamped in Early Espresso onto Pumpkin Pie card stock.

Well thanks for stopping by. See you tomorrow!

Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack

Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack by Stampin’ Up!

I’ve cut up some DSP! Gasp, shock, horror! Those of you who follow my blog will know that this is a rare thing! I seem to have an aversion to cutting into pretty paper. I wanted to use Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack by Stampin’ Up! as soon as I saw this sketch by the lovely Sarah Berry. Sarah has started up her own weekly sketch challenge Strawberry Sketches.

I started with the leaves pattern from Serene Scenery. One side of this DSP is a photograph or a photo-realistic style design and the other is the usual pretty patterned DSP. I really like the photographic designs and so that is what I chose for my card for Sarah’s challenge. Actually I made five in total – I got a bit carried away! Ha ha ha!

I made my first card using a Garden Green card front. It was only when I looked at the front of the DSP stack again I realised the green used is Old Olive. Although, I don’t think it matters which green you use for this photo design.

I decided to make another four cards using a few of the colours in the DSP stack: Old Olive, Island Indigo and Crumb Cake.

I love these grasses and dandelion prints!

And this seashore print is lovely, although I am not sure if it is a photo or a painted design.

Well that’s it from me. Do go and check out Sarah’s challenge! It would be even better if you joined in too! 🙂
