Picture Perfect is not retiring yay!!!!

Picture Perfect from Stampin’ Up! ® is not retiring yay!!!!

So whilst probably most other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators, will no doubt be posting beautiful projects of the stamp sets that are retiring, my project today is of one set that I am over the moon to say is NOT retiring woohoo! (I’m not really a rebel, I’m just too disorganised to have other projects using retiring stuff ready! lol). Picture Perfect is carrying over in to the new annual catalogue due out 1st June!

Picture Perfect Pink Rose VIntage Wallpaper from Stampin' Up! Tracy May

Picture Perfect is a two-step stamping, photo realistic stamp set and if you hadn’t already guessed that I absolutely love this set, then maybe today’s card will convince you! It’s not really my usual style but I love it. It kind of reminds me of vintage floral wallpaper, at least that is what sprang to mind as soon as I stamped the first flower in Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride and Rose Red! I followed that with Pear Pizazz, Wild Wasabi and Garden Green for the leaves.

Ah I’ve just realised I do have some retiring product on this card. I used a wooden sentiment from the Expressions Natural Elements embellishments. I covered it in Versamark and then Heat & Stick Powder before covering it with gold glitter!

I do hope you like it!

Do be sure to check out the retiring products if there’s anything in particular you’ve had your eye on! Some items sell out extremely quickly!

Sheltering Tree From Stampin’ Up!

Sheltering Tree From Stampin’ Up!

Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer 2016 Catalogue - SAB

There’s a cherry blossom tree across the road from my house, which has been blossoming on and off since about December. The poor thing has gotten totally confused with the weather oscillating (or is it vacillating?) between very mild and then decidedly chilly. I tried to take a photograph of the tree but I couldn’t capture the lovely colours of the blossom and the tree with my limited photography skills (another one for my long list of courses I would like to take)!

The poor tree inspired todays card, which I made last week. It was forecast to snow at the weekend but other than a very feeble attempt on Saturday and again this morning, it has failed to do so!

After blending Soft Sky ink all over a Whisper White card front, I stamped the tree trunk from Sheltering Tree from Stampin’ Up! in Chocolate Chip and Early Espresso. Then I stamped the leaf or blossom part of the stamp set, first in Rose Red and then over stamped in Craft White ink, slightly off-setting the white, to attempt to create the pink and white cherry blossom of the tree across the road.

I used one of the brush strokes stamps from Work of Art stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. What do you think? I think it’s turned out quite well – but then I would, wouldn’t I? Lol!
